Great location - right on the main street. Rooms were just fine - spacious and with all amenities. Motel has a BBQ area which was perfect for cooking Christmas dinner. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an easy, friendly and convenient place to stay! Only issue was paying for laundry - but not a big deal.

As with most accom' in NZ it's predominantly MOTEL not Hotel...so you're not going to get 'The Ritz'...you want 5star stay in the city. That said, this place was a great little discovery - bang in the centre of a bustling little town (plenty of pubs and foodie places to pig out at); it was clean and spacious; a very...

The hotel has a great location, right in the middle of things. The room feels a bit closed off with only the front having windows, and a small window in the bathroom. The room was nice enough and was clean. The reason I didn't give it a 4 was because we had a very loud party going in a neighboring...

I have stayed at the Gateway hotel multiple times and it is consistently great, from the moment you arrive. Kent is fantastic, very kind and friendly. The wifi is excellent and uncomplicated, non of those signing in complications, just connect and put in a simple password. The room was excellent, very clean and had everything we needed. Also it is...

Great motel for an overnighter while heading either down south or up north we were in a room upstairs and did think it could get noisy being on the road front but wasn't at all. We were three sharing a room and we weren't crammed in. The only issue was the bathroom door was on a roller and it was...

We drove from Kaikoura to Picton on our way to Abel Tasman National park. We were hoping to stay in Picton to explore Marlborough Sound but it was raining too much so we kept driving to Nelson. This motel was so affordable and clean, we really enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely motel situated in walking distance of the Picton Ferry port and in the middle of the main high street with plenty of shops and restaurants around. Despite this the rooms are quiet and a nice size. The guy on reception (sorry I forget his name) was great, showed us around and helped with anything we needed....

Owner was very friendly & helpful. Personally showed us to our room. It's in the middle of the township so walking distance to everything. The restaurants around close early. The room was tidy and I can say I slept well. The laundry room was just next door but didn't hear any noise. The other quest staying were friendly as well....

I needed a base for visiting friends in the Picton area, and this proved to be a good choice. it is in the centre of the small high street. Rooms are not new but they are well maintained, and include a microwave etc. No breakfast provided but several places very close. And the town itself is a little gem. Probably...
