My hostel experience here might be a bit different from most. I ended up paying for a double room even though I was traveling solo (no more dorm beds for me!) and rented a car, so travel to and from the hostel was quite easy. Full disclosure: most of the folks stay in the dorms here and are traveling by...

This is by far one of the best hostels I have stayed at. It's clean, the staff are friendly, in a great location with all the facilities you need. The tv room is comfy and well designed like a mini cinema, the free breakfast is superb with so many options. We also had free pudding the first night we arrived...

Traveling with my mom and sister, we stayed here on our first night in New Zealand. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our bags had been lost in transit, but they helped us contact the airline and our bags arrived the next day. There is a shared kitchen and breakfast is included. Very clean, and convenient...

We stayed in the ensuite double room, which was nice and clean and in fact more like a motel unit than a cheap backpackers. The common areas were extremly nice and well kept and they are ok with you staying there after check-out as long as you tell them beforehand (very handy if you intend to catch the afternoon ferry)....

We had a twin private room - it was a great room, with an interesting little patio out front. There was a little bistro table and flowering vines waving around in the breezez. Friendly staff, nice kitchen and lounging areas, and patio outside. The atmosphere here was so chill and friendly. And there's free wi-fi in the common areas. Plus,...
