Perfect bunk beds, no movement and not a sound, very pleasant sleeping! Friendly staff arranging for free dessert every night, clean, pickup service and a nice quiet location a bit out of town. Very enjoyable backpacker accomodation!

Just stayed one night and wished I had booked a couple more! Friendly and welcoming staff, clean rooms, clean bathrooms and a lovely atmosphere with friendly like minded backpackers. Liked the added extras of pick up and drop off to the ferry terminal/bus station and hot chocolate pudding.

We only stayed one night, but it was overall a pleasant experience. A warm welcome from the manager, unexpected free breakfast as a special treat, clean rooms, well-equipped kitchen and location in a quiet part of town. However the rooms could be a little more soundproof - we could hear quite clearly what our neighbours are saying in their room.

I only spent one night there, but I had a really good time there! The staff bake a really nice chocolate pudding with hockey pockey ice cream (what else?), there are hammocks outside, good lockers, and they probably have the cosiest TV room in NZ: tons of DVDs, and plenty of actual mattresses and pillows to feel all comfy while... My boyfriend and I stayed here as an overnight stop whilst we began our southward journey of the South Island. The staff was very chatty and friendly, and the kitchen/common rooms were fantastic! This was also the first place where we experienced the free chocolate pudding/ice cream and it was delicious! The dorms were on the smaller side, but the... More
