I felt right at home at the Villa hostel in Picton. It's nice and cosy in winter. The rooms are warm and clean. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is great and we got free apple crumble and ice cream every night yum. Definitely a good choice!

I just been here for one night, but what a night. This hostel is very close to the ferry stations and near to the resto of the city. Very clean, organized, beautiful place with lovely staff. Kitchen a bit small, but very clean and with nice free stuff. They have a hot spa that's just awesome in this cold nights.... More

I really liked this hostel! Staff were very friendly and gave a tour of the place during check in. In the evening a fire was lit and the place was very warm and inviting. Plus they had free apple crumble and ice cream over winter! The rooms were very clean and spacious with extra blankets and hot water bottles available.... More

Stayed one night here after arriving from the North Island by ferry – conveniently its location is a stones throw away from the terminal. This hostel has a real homely, comfy vibe about it from the kitsch retro décor to the free (delicious) homemade apple crumble and ice cream they serve in the evening. The staff are young but really... More

A short walk from the ferry termial, place is cold and very damp. the condensation in the rooms was dripping down the windows and the room was freezing at night. The heater was a little fan heater with no timer or themostate so could not be left on at all. Offers free tea, coffee and breakfast. But in the morning... More

a lovely, rambling villa with smaller cottage in pleasant garden. the front veranda was perfect for lounging in the last of the afternoon sun. nice big kitchen, separate dining and living room in villa with fires which would be welcome in very cold weather. the spa in the courtyard was a bonus after a long day of walking. tea, coffee,... About a 10 minute walk from the InterIslander ferry terminal, it is round the corner from the heart of the small town. It is a BBH hostel. Cool little hostel with friendly staff. They offer free wifi and there is a sauna as well. Showers are warm and the beds were comfortable. They offer hot water bottles and extra blankets... More

This was such a cute hostel! The hostel spreads across a number of different buildings, so we had a decent-sized double room (which even had an ensuite!) in a separate building. The room was old but well maintained. The only negative point is that the hostel seems to be run by backpackers, so you may not be able to speak... More

Arrived after dark and the weather was less then ideal but the outdoor area looked nice with hammocks and lights to decorate. sweet little hang out that over looks the outside area too. Clean kitchen with basic (salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices), free tea and coffee. Clean showers... More

My partner and I stayed here as part of the Stray group on two occasions. One night in a dorm with others and another night in a private double. I can not recommend this place more highly. Marc on reception is god send to this place, he's extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble and always has a smile on... More
