Nice little backpackers. We had a double ensuite which was perfectly fine. Spa pool and outdoor area looked nice, and the kitchen was clean with plenty of space. Staff were friendly. Good location - easy walk from the ferry. $86 so not super cheap but OK

This hostel looks very nice, because of the many outside places where you can hang out. They have a very nice backyard and the kitchen is quite big. Also, the staff is very nice! Apart from that, the rooms, showers and toilets are quite standard. Other things I liked: free wifi and possibility to use the facilities after checkout when... More

Great little hostel to stay at, free wifi, hot tub and nice rooms. Would recommend to anyone, looks a little quirky form the front but has a beautiful backyard, kitchen and lounge area. Perfect location too! 2 minute walk to Main Street and 5 mins to beach and ferry terminals

We were booked in for the night in a twin room with bathroom. We had notified the motel that we were arriving on the late Ferry from Wellington arriving at 11.30pm. There were no glasses or mugs in our room for water and no way to access any. The next morning the receptionist told us the key to our room... More

Thank you for your review. We regard all feedback as worthwhile and helps us continually improve. I am disappointed that we didn't live up to expectations and the guests found it difficult to navigate their way in late at night. The Villa is a YHA/Backpacker not a motel and this is reflected in the price, about half the cost of... More

. This is most people’s first stop in the south island after getting off the free ferry shuttle and it would have been easy for the owners to slack off in that regard. But the hostel is clean and cosy, with a well-stocked kitchen and a quiet room with no TV or radio (they have both of those too of... More

Stayed only for a night. They reply to my e-mails promptly. They even offered to pick me up at the Bluebridge Ferry Terminal but sadly they wasn't able to (waited for 2hrs) pick me up. The only consolation that i got after waiting 2hrs at the ferry terminal is they gave me a discount of $22, I only paid for... More

I had lovely weather when I was here so the place was amazing. So peaceful and homely. Not too many people at this time so was relaxing. Such a nice change since I was in Wellington big hostel before. Lovely Garden, hammock, hot tub, tree house, deck chairs and eating space on grass. Alcohol allowed, free apple crumble at 8pm... Great location. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and they even strip the beds. Clean bedrooms and common rooms. Good quality bedding and comfy beds. Well supplied kitchen with free tea and coffee and free breakfast. Also, home made apple crumble and ice cream free every night. I could move in here permanently! The wifi is free and very strong,... This place is great. It's warm, welcoming & truly is a beautiful old house. I stayed here multiple times & receive consistent high standard of comfort & service. It was quiet due to winter but the place is cosy, offers great facilities & feels like a place you can truly make your own. The owners clearly know what they are... More
