Without doubt, this was the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in! Greg and Teresa were so helpful and friendly, and the house was absolutely stunning with rich cream furnishings and a brand-new feel while retaining its period charm. We stayed in La Mer, which was a spacious room with a beautiful view over the harbour. We so appreciated the...

We enjoyed one night at Oinako. The property dates from Victorian times. The old features have been restored and modern facilities added. The welcome was friendly, the breakfast was fresh and well presented, every aspect of the building is intriguing and the ambience of this B&B was outstanding. We wish that we could have stayed longer. Angela & Peter

This is by far the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The location is magnificent, overlooking the glory of Akaroa harbour with the mountains to frame the picture. The building is of historical significance as well as being outstandingly beautiful, comfortable and brilliantly equipped with every amenity. The hosts, Theresa and Greg, go out of their way to offer...

The drive down to Akaroa was stunning. Gorgeous spot but the roads were very windy so couldn't stop to get out and enjoy the scenery. Oinako was such a delightful surprise. Beautifully restored. Theresa was super friendly and helpful. She spent some time with us telling us about the home and the work they did on it. She also got...

This is a period property with views over the harbour from the bedroom windows. The room was super large with plenty of space and a settee. There was a wet room and a separate loo. The super King size bed was very comfortable and the owners did everything they could to make us comfortable including a complimentary glass of wine....

We arrived at Oinako and were greeted by our host, Greg who gave us some history about the B&B. It received structural damage in the 2011 earthquakes. They went through several years of restoration and reopened in October 2015. We were shown to our beautiful room Les Collines which was large and had a beautiful view of the gardens. The...

Theresa and Gregg have spent three years restoring the Oinako from the earthquakes, and it is elegant. Situated two blocks from the active heart of Akaroa, overlooking the Harbour, this lovely classical building has achieved a delightful mix of classical French style with up-to-the-minute new finishes. Even better, their hospitality is as homey and eager-to-serve as you can find anywhere....

We spent the last 2 nights of our 16 day SI drive at this very special place. Hosts Greg and Teresa have restored this magnificient home following the 2011 earthquake taking 5 years which has resulted in achieving a stately luxurious B&B. The house (which is more a mansion) sits proudly on the side of a hill overlooking Akaroa harbour...
