Perfect place if you're looking for a housy and cosy hostel! The staff is friendly and knows your name, the owner Vaughan is awesome and takes you on activities like paddling in his little yellow car. The location is also very good and close to the market, shops and beech. Thanks guys! Milou

G'day Milou ! It was great to meet you and have you here at Pirates. Glad you liked the cruise in the moke :) And thanks for your title, "small and cosy", a good description of our little home. I hope you're having an awesome road trip and hopefully we'll see you back here one day. Take care, Vaughan

Had a lovely time at Pirates ! There's always plenty of activities going on and there's always someone there up for a chat or a game of pool. The hostel's motto is ''your home away from home" and that's clearly what it felt like for me. Thanks Vaughan and Tasha!

Had a lovely and great stay in Pirates for about two months. The atmosphere is just absolutely perfect. The employees are very warm and welcoming people. Loved and spent a lot of time in the garden.. The events that are there daily are also a perfect way to spend your time and to connect with one another. Pirates is not...

Hey Wouter, thanks for your review. It was always good to see you hanging in the garden. Jan just did a whole heap of gardening so it looks spot on! You'll have to pop in if you can get some time off and check it out. Enjoy Rotto :) PS. Tasha says hi. Take care, Vaughan

Everyone is really kind, and helpfull! I've been all over the world and I had never such a good hostel as Pirates. And that is not only because of the good location. It's such a good hostel because there are really friendly people working there. If you're in Perth just move to Fremantle and go to Pirates because you don't...

I had a WONDERDERFUL time at pirates. Perth was my first stop in Australia and since I lost my phone, I asked the taxi chauffeur to just drive me to a hostel in Fremantle. He dropped me outside pirates, it was middle in the night, my first trip ever alone. I was scared but as soon as I entered the...

Atmosphere hippies of 70's - people who speak loud all night with music, careless of others - same thing in the kitchen where it is difficult to find cups, plates, cutlery because no one brings the dishes used - Fridge full, impossible to access - I gave up kitchen even for breakfast - ditto for bathrooms where we have to...

Just a quick couple of comments to your main two complaints. - We have two big fridges. The outside fridge has heaps of room, so maybe...
