Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best lodge in Tatra Mountain!
Their "ranajki" and "kapustova soup" the best also!
Very nice service. Rooms are modest and small but clean. Hot water 24hrs. I always stay there. Thank you so much for all.

This mountain "hut" tucked away in the High Tatras of Slovakia can only be reached by foot. The most direct way to reach here is by hiking (3hrs) from the nearby town of Tatranska Lomnica. Stop in for Pierogis, Kielbasa, deserts or just fill up on a few pints of local brew before heading back down the mountain. Too tired or had one too many drinks at the top to continue? No worries, they have rooms for guests as well. If you only do one thing in the High Tatras make a visit to this unique mountain hut.

We came here for lunch during a day hike. It was very busy but a beautiful location on the lake. When trying to order food, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude and unhelpful despite us being apologetic we did not speak Slovak - this is the only encounter like this we have had in Slovakia - everyone has been very helpful and friendly. The view and the food make up for it but the service needs improving drastically.

I was there many times, in winter and summer, too. This place is much more better, than a tourist house in Alps. We slept 4 in a room, had allways hot water in the basement, everything was clean and hygienic. The food is very tasteful and more than enough. And not overpriced! The breakfast is awesome, eggs, sausages, salamis, Slovak meat and cheese specialities, cornflakes, yoghurts, tea, cocoa, coffee, milk... And don't forget to try horec - it is made from roots of Gentiana in vodka or borovicka. And chata-tea, made from herbs of Tatras.

This was the last hut where we stayed on our trek through the High Tatras. The location was beautiful, surrounded by a 900m wall, the highest in the Tatras, and next to a high mountain lake. The facility was relatively new. The food was really good- everyone staying there gets the same dinner (they do make arrangements for vegan/vegetarian). We enjoyed trying some of the local beers. Rooms have bunk beds. Showers in the basement were HOT! I would like to back there when it's not snowing to complete one of our hikes towards the White Tatras.

One of the best places to see when visiting Slovakia I think, a 3 hours moderate difficulty hike to reach it is absolutely worth it. A place surrounded by mountains offers great local beer and food. Just have cash with you, they don’t accept cards.
To park a car you will need €8 in cash also.

We were accommodated one night from saturday to sunday. Hut was full, we had reservation for mattresses for 14€ (it is in different building with wood-burning stove) with breakfast. Breakfast was super, buffet form with a lot of food. It is good starting point for hiking or ice climbing.

Atmosphere and environment of this place is awesome. Cottage is about 2,5 hour from Biela voda, place where you can drive by car. Trip from Biela Voda is very easy and suitable also for families with children.

Slovak food offered by cottage kitchen is very very tasty. Simple soups and traditional dishes are worth.

Great food, great location, great atmosphere. You must visit it! :)

Mountain cottage with absolutely great atmosphere, position and excellent hiking base in the middle of the Vysoke Tatry mountains. If you plan to hike, this is the start/finish place for your mountain tours. The cottage is open through the whole year. Therefore for skialpinism great option as well.

hi, is it possible to get a private room at Chata Pri Zelenom Plese?
Answer from laylalae

Hi, Julian. I don´t know how many people should be accommodated in it, e.g. if you are travelling with some friend of you or not. I am pretty sure they do not have rooms for a single person so if you want to be accommodate alone, you have to pay for all the beds in the room. We stayed there as a group of 4 and in that case it was OK as we had our own room.
