We dined late in the hotel and the female chef kindly stayed late to prepare an excellent meal for each of us. We asked to meet her to thank her for her delicious food and we gave her a spontaneous round of applause which I think embarrassed her.
The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was superb.
The reception ladies were great.
Thank you from us all.
It was our first visit in this hotel . This hotel is located in the very picturesque mountains side Citi called Szczawnica.
In the past in the property belonging to hotel was placed old style villa . New it was renovated into the hotel . There are only 18 apartments in the hotel , I recommend for sure junior suite as they are spacious and have got two separate rooms .
Spa and swimming pool is very nice .
Food in the hotel is 3/10 nothing special, 200 m near this hotel there is located another one called Batory where you can eat delicious meal!!
We will be back to this place for sure again
Exterior & architecture – superb, undoubtedly a gem of pre-war architecture, recently renovated. Christmas decorations were virtually non-existent, which constituted a great disappointment for my children.
Rooms – we had a spacious room with balcony overlooking the trees. What I personally disliked were very dark furniture and poor quality of the rollaway sofa on which my kids were sleeping. Housekeeping - not efficient, lots of dust in the room. I liked Hermes toiletries.
Indoor pool & spa – ambience-wise this area is very nice (pool, steam room and finnish sauna) but definitely too small for the number of guests staying at the hotel (with only 5 or 6 deskchairs we sometimes had no place to rest).
Restaurant – undoubtedly the weakest point of the hotel. Restaurant staff is extremely detached, withdrawn, unable to recommend any food or wine. Prices of wines are exorbitant, the quality of wines is much below average. Food portions are microscopic (to our surprise the kid’s menu portions are much bigger). Since there are no other options in Szczawnica, after 5 days we really had enough.
Reception – not very skilled or helpful. Earns extra income by employing their family members as babysitters (at rates per hour higher than in Warsaw).
All in all – a beautiful package with not much value inside; with 5* looks but 2* service
Very comfy and flair 17-rooms property with excellent service and incredible location.
The owners also look after the surroundings of the Górny Park (Upper Park) area and revive one-by-one all the beautiful buildings that make Szczawnica the best spa resort in Poland.
Hotel rooms are comfortable and spotless.
Restaurant chef makes sure you feel personalyl served and food quality is absolute top.
I would only upgrade the drinks and wine selection and work on the tiny little details that sometimes do not fit the overall luxurious image.
Where I do have concerns is their breakfast. Knowing the price of the room, they charge extra for eg. scrambled eggs and fresh orange juice which is something even a great B&B offers.
When we checked out we highlighted it but apart from acknowledging our concern with the standard sentence 'will flag it to my manager' we had to pay for it.
Overall - they have it to become a top place to stay in the region but they need to adjust as once you see the bill you feel they are charging too much of a premium.
We had a very nice three-night stay at the Park in a deluxe double. Our room (#2) was spacious and modern, with a comfortable sitting area and a nice full bath/shower. Even though we were just down the hall from the restaurant and bar, it was a completely quiet location.
Service in the dining room was also top notch -- attentive without being overbearing. That said, the food could have been a notch or two better -- while we enjoyed the buffet breakfast and our one and only dinner there, we were disappointed that there were relatively few entree choices to pick from (grilled trout on tarragon pesto was outstanding, but the regional Oscypek cheese dish wasn't nearly as good as similar dishes we had elsewhere and the gazpacho was surprisingly so-so).
We especially liked that the hotel was set back from the town without being far from it -- a nice location with easy access to nearby hiking at Jaworki (up the Homole Gorge to a great viewpoint at Za Potok) or biking along the Dunajec River Gorge all the way into Slovakia (with many views of the log rafts guided down the river by navigators wearing traditional embroidered jackets).
Given that the service was so great and the lodging was so luxurious, we'd gladly return to the Park Hotel if we were back in Szczawnica!
