In the heart of the picturesque Pieniny, you will find a truly extraordinary place. It was created almost 150 years ago, by the propagator of a healthy lifestyle and Piennial culture - Józef Szalaja - Hotel Batory. It is here that you will feel the atmosphere of a place with a soul that combines stylish interiors and a passion for tradition and art. In one of the hotel rooms, the Polish Nobel Prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz wrote his extremely subtle novel "Wiry". The unique atmosphere of the place is also the closeness of the Pieniny nature. The morning chirping of birds from the nearby spa park and the cuisine of the Batory Restaurant, drawing from the flavors of the region, will make the rest take on a new meaning!

Detailed Reviews
Very good hotel, located on a hill few minutes walk from center of Szczawnica, with very clean and modern interiors, excellent breakfast and covid precautions in place. When we were there hotel restaurants were still closed due to covid restrictions and breakfast was served directly to the hotel room. Highly recommended.

We were a cycling group of 22 from Toronto and had a great stay
The food was very tasty and the beds were comfortable
We would like to stay here again in the future if we plan to return to Poland
Friendly staff

Staff were very friendly, proffessional and above all very courteous. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet was amazing every morning with a great selection fresh produce. Would gladly return again.

I am a would-be guest of this hotel. My relationship with this facility ended at the stage of booking and collecting 470 zlotys for it 'according to the regulations'. The cancellation was made a few days before arrival. I do not recommend booking, because if your plans change, no matter for what random reasons, you will be charged the accommodation fee. And someone else can rent the same room at the same time. In this case, it was happily only one night. I advise against the risk. But you will be politely informed many times 'that nothing can be done'.

Nice clean, quiet room, no elevator, about 5-10 min. walk from center up a hill, adjacent to vacant old buildings, Staff was polite. We paid for a travel package through a agency and were disappointed that with our included dinner there was NO choice of meal- just the one mediocre meal served. The menu was whisked away. We felt like second class customers because of this. When I ordered a beverage I was told it was extra. As I needed to drink to stay hydrated, i of course paid for and got my beverage. It would be nice if a glass of water was served, but in most of Europe that is not the case. Still, a complimentary drink with the meal would have been nice. I wouldn't go back.

Nice location as a base for hiking. Good food with excellent brrakfast. Large room. No coffee in room or available upon request. Room amenities could use an upgrade. Unexpected additional charges for parking and climate tax at checkout.

The staff were fairly good. . .
That’s the good news. The room was dingy, small & badly ventilated with a musty smell (no air conditioning but just a full opening window would have been great) The bathroom was needlessly huge & the floor of which always wet for hours after even a quick shower. The ‘included evening meal’ was horrific, we weren’t given any choice, just presented with 3 courses, 1 worse than the other (most of which also appeared next morning on the breakfast buffet, I’m not kidding) from ‘Starter to Desserts’ took 15 mins to lash it out to us, they were in a hurry 🙄we went down town next night. Breakfast was poor both mornings and finally . . The bar was closed by 9pm . . . I’ve never given 1* before

Hotel is located in 10 min walking distance from the heart of Szczawnica. Our room was spacious with the nice view. Breakfast was nice. The things we didn’t like are:
• Late check in which is 4pm
• Lack of air-conditioning in rooms
• Noises from the lobby if your room is on the first floor next to reception.
• Hotels restaurant wasn’t ready to serve group of the people within reasonable waiting time
• Staff should be more focused on their customers needs or at least show interest.

Located in Gorny Park, hotel Batory offers solid 3 stars accommodation with free wifi, breakfast, and parking. Several restaurants are within walking distance, rental bikes available at the lower station of chair lift. Rent a bike and visit Slovakia for lunch, or go rafting or kayaking on Dunajec river.

Stayed here in January 2015. Had a fabulous room, very clean, everything you wanted and more including 2 sofas. Bathroom was large and great shower. Breakfast very good. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was delicious and by a roaring fire. No faults with this hotel at all
