Both my husband and I cannot recommend this beautiful and unique "hideaway" enough. The accommodation was first-rate with all our needs (and indeed so very much more) catered for. The private sauna and plunge pool are incredible. What a luxury to experience the total serenity of an Al fresco bath! Our hosts, Amy and John were so exceptionally attentive to our requirements but so respectful of our privacy. The afternoon tea arrival after what was quite a lengthy journey was just so welcome and so divine. We absolutely loved the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking landscape with our furry family member too. We will MOST definitely return- soon.

Amy & John have thought of everything, with beautifully decorated lodges, stunning views, a fabulous sauna & plunge pool, and a gorgeous Al fresco bath to enjoy the restorative sensation of seaweed! We went for the Reconnect package that included afternoon tea on arrival, a delicious antipasti platter with a beautiful bottle of wine, as well as the private sauna and seaweed bath. Excellent value and an all round wonderful experience. We even took up their suggestion of the nearby walk along the river, which was a little overgrown but a lovely adventure through the forest. Highly recommend treating yourself to this getaway overlooking Bantry bay.

Fabulous pet friendly accommodation with stunning views over Bantry Bay. The Lodges are well equipped with all you need for self catering, you also have the option to add on breakfast and pizza packs, both were of very good quality. The owners are really lovely to deal with, John, who grew up in the Valley was very knowledgeable on the area and gave us some great tips. An outdoor bath as the sun sets over the bay really hits the spot!

I had one night stay here. It was just okay - I am not sure it warrants the high prices for the overall service / facilities
The views are fantastic and location is lovely but there are a few things that disappointed
The sauna is only open for three hours a day in the evening - if the property is being advertised as a “spa” I would expect that the sauna would be open more during the day.
The property is deemed as self catering - but it has very limited cook ware. There was no frying pan or oven dishes for example.
I also think that as each lodge has an outdoor bath, there should be some bath products provided.

Hi Des, I think it is important to remind you and anyone else reading this review that we advertise as an ECO spa resort. We have a very strong commitment to the environment and our community and this is reflected in our policies and procedures. This is the main driving force behind how we run our spa services. The Sauna is on for 3 hours maximum to reduce power consumption. Your check in time was 4pm so you had access to use this for the full 3 hours had you wished. The bath products we supply are in your bathroom inside the lodge and consist of Irish hand made natural body and hair soaps wrapped in biodegradable materials and an eco liquid hand-wash in a refillable glass dispenser. We also have handpicked seaweed from Bere Island especially for use in the alfresco bath, and an opportunity to purchase this product was afforded to you on many occasions during your Guest journey. We do not provide "bubble bath" for the alfresco bath as its use can damage our eco gravity fed waste water treatment plant. In regards to the cookware, in the bottom cupboard in the kitchen there is indeed a frying pan and an oven dish, along with 3 saucepans with lids, perhaps you failed to spot this? If you had messaged guest services we could have directed you to them. In addition the lodges are equipped with a full crockery and cutlery set, including kitchen gadgets such as pizza cutter, grater, peeler etc a kettle and toaster, a coffee plunger, a teapot and various chopping boards and a set of 3 sharp cutting knives for preparing vegetables. I am an avid cook and can't imagine needing anything else to prepare a sumptuous meal, however, had you required anything else a quick message on our whatsapp guest concierge service would have meant I could have sourced anything you needed and brought it to you. This is all part of our customer service experience which we highly pride ourselves on and that most guests use and appreciate. Finally in regards to price, we strongly believe that our facilities, service and location provide excellent value for money, as reflected in all the other reviews here, but it should also be noted that had you booked direct with us rather than using a third party you could have saved yourself almost €40 on your room rate for one night. I invite you to stay with us again this time booking directly, taking full advantage of the guest concierge service, peruse your Guest app thoroughly to familiarise yourself with the vast array of spa services we offer and other small touches to enhance your stay plus all the information on facilities in your lodge and things to do in the area. Finally, if you would like more information on our Eco policies you can find them on our website.

A totally amazing experience, beautifully appointed cabins with panoramic views. A fully equipped kitchen which I used to cook the breakfast pack I had ordered beforehand, it was delicious. I tried the outdoor bath with the seaweed pack which was very relaxing. I stayed for 2 nights and would definitely return.

Just spent an absolutely blissful weekend at Wild Hideaways and feel completely rejuvenated. The cabins were luxurious and provided everything we needed. The views were incredible and the treatments on offer a very welcome bonus. I've stayed in a number of high end retreats and this one was on another level. Already re-booked for my birthday in January!

I don’t normally leave reviews but we loved our stay so much I felt I had to! I I’m so glad we chose to stay here during our visit to Cork instead of a standard hotel experience. We felt completely refreshed and ready to face the work/life juggle after our stay. We will be recommending to family and friends and rebooking for a stay in the summer.

What an amazing place and never had such a great view from the bedroom - everything you need to recharge the batteries and relax. The lodge has everything you need for a short break as only stayed two nights. Local walks - OMG is a must. Celebrated a special birthday with hubby and will return.
