Very nice hotel and hotel amenities. But unfortunately hotel restaurant and restaurant stuff was not very professional and the food was more like the average and not like the 4 star hotel restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food from the menu, spaghetti from zucchini was not tasty and Vienna schnitzel was too salty. Not worth the money we spent. When we came there was staff meeting and we were asked to wait for meeting end to be seated , it was very disrespectful.
This was our fourth visit, and last. Management seems to be fading, poor services, but the last day with a bizarre, humiliating and shameful treatment assured that I will not be able to enter the door on this otherwise exquisitely renovated building. On the last day of our 5-night stay, we were approached by the manager in the restaurant right after breakfast. He said there’s been damage to our room and amount of 340€ will be added to our bill. I was surprised as I wasn’t aware of breaking anything, but initially open to see and requested at least an itemised bill. Right in the middle of the restaurant he had no problems stating: Madame, there are blood stains on your bedding.! …..I was speechless, this is a gorgeous 4-star facility with history and significance to the area, that I have ties to. I thought this was a particularly wrong way to raise any “irreparable damage” that had to be added to the bill. I refused to discuss this in the middle of the restaurant and went to reception to complain. Bizarreness, amateurism and awfully wrong communication escalated further as reception said that I already spoke to the manager and nobody else will attend to me. They’re not allowed to call GM (wtf??), on my insistence the Reception manager came. It was a lady and offered coffee and a sit down, however insisted that waving pics of blood stains in the middle of a restaurant is really fine…?! I requested assistance from Booking.com, and their manager called the hotel. They confirmed that this was our fourth visit and we spent all up to about 8.000 € with this place, found this way of communication to be particularly rude and proposed that this dispute is resolved in amicable manner. I went to reception to check out after this to find that the hotel couldn’t care less for amicable resolution. To my saying that staining is NOT DAMAGE unless they tried cleaning it; which they refused to try and say they throw away any blood stained bedding. I needed to see General Business Conditions, Accommodation Order or any document that would back up the amount they wanted to charge. This is all backed by Slovak legislation - frivolous charging extra items is illegal. Clearly not a single manager was aware of legislation framework, the whole treatment was amateurism and you’ d expect this from some hostel in Albania and not classy property of this sort. I requested a proper report on this incident, itemised bill and proof that there’s irreparable damage (as per law) and stated that that could have been prepared some time ago since they insist on payment and knew our check out day and time. But it is prepared - stated manager and repeatedly kept disappearing to back office for long periods of time. We were left waiting for more than an hour and a half, came out with a paper stating that 6 pillows, 2 duvets, cleaning of two carpets (that were stained on our arrival) will be paid, blank paper, no explanatory note, report proof - and “Manager” asked me to agree and pay… And this moment I was already flying off the handle with outrage and demanded that we inspect the room now. We went in and I was taking items one by one. Duvet, and 5 pillows Snow White, 1 duet had appr. 2cm stain, one pillow about 6cm stain of very pale barely visible colour. I got the apology and some two tiny boxes of chocolates. Bill was reduced to 70€; I was reduced to tears from this horrid idiotic witch hunt about a stain that clearly the cleaning lady complained about changing (and didn’t change so we slept in it). All this for nearly 300€ per night. I congratulate the hotel for the extra revenue of 70€, the bizarre, obscene, rude display of their amateurism and what seems to be malevolence and mismanagement and a loss of regular client. Our bill was more than 2,000€ each time, clearly it was worth it. Cleaning lady will certainly make up for that, maybe she will book a room for 2000, it’ll be about her 3 monthly salaries.…
We stayed here for three nights on our first visit to the High Tatras. This hotel was amazing with very friendly staff. The room - We booked a standard room in the modern design which worked well for us. Not a ton of space but plenty of storage. The bed was fantastic - love having two comforters and extra large pillows! The bathroom had heated floors and the shower had two shower heads. It was very luxurious. The only downside was our view looked at the outside hot tub which could be awkward. Next time, I would consider upgrading. The food - We only ate at the breakfast buffet which was included but it was incredible!! Anything you could ever want plus coffee to order, Prosecco, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The location - loved being able to walk around and explore without having to drive. Spa - enjoyed the tepidarium and the pool. Not huge but enough space for everyone there. Parking - free valet parking. Enough said. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a first class hotel in the Tatras.…
We have used the terrace of the Restaurant and also the indoors space in 2 occasions both in october 2020. The hotel and the Restaurant are located in a historical building, just next to the main street with great hight Tatras views. The food was very good, served by trained staff, in white glowes. The food has definitely a high value4money ratio. Only small down point was the wine. Server a bit warmer, both of the times, than expected for white and rose.
We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful, as is all the artwork that adorns its walls. The pool and hot tub are nice. The room was small but quiet and clean. The breakfast was excellent. My only complaint was the staff, who we found to be generally unfriendly. The receptionist didn’t smile once, and Peter in the bar/restaurant reminded us of Slovakia’s fascist past. The hotel’s sommelier was truly the only friendly person we met.
One of the best in Vysoke Tatry. The hotel is a beautiful building in a great location. Can't say anything negative about this hotel. It was an outstanding experience. Spacious, clean and nice decorated rooms, amazing breakfast, staff was really professional. Great wellness. Will definitely come again.
Beautiful hotel in a city in the mountains. It consists of two sections, one is historical and one modern. Both are very nice and cozy. Room was clean, spacious with a nice view. We stayed for two nights, so we could enjoy the amazing breakfast, with everything you can think of. For the dinner we headed to the city, where you can find many good restaurants with different cuisines for a good value. But we saw the restaurants and possibilities in the hotel and they looked delicious, bud little expensive. We also visited wellness, which is nice, with private Jacuzzi, small swimming pool, outside Jacuzzi, some saunas and also massages. The hotel has enough parking places and is located close to station. But the best thing was the staff, Most polite i ever met. Always very helpful, ready to do everything you want or need. I definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic stay.…
I had such a great weekend at this hotel. Interior spaces were gorgeous, the room was wonderful, The high ceilings are so nice. I liked skiing the mountain, it is an easy shuttle ride up in the morning and an easy walk back at the end of the day. The best mix of advanced, intermediate, and long easy runs that I have come across at a mountain that is such an easy size. The village is also lovely for the weekend. Finally, the team at Hotel Lomnica are just a delight. Everyone was so helpful and fun. A shut out to to Ms. Pametnicka for helping me with my lift tickets, thank you! Everyone at the front desk was terrific.
Breathtaking interiors, walls decorated with original paintings of the region, superb service, divine cousine. Merging classic and modern, the hotel is focused on unconditional excellency in service, putting it on level with best world hotels. Let your self be treated
Very good restaurant. The hotel has a piano in the bar. Very good access to hiking routes (if you wish to climb for Rysy for example). 24 hours reception. Super comfortable and beautiful view on the lake.
