Hotel pod Zámkom is a four-star hotel located in the square below the Bojnice Castle in an attractive tourist spa town. The surrounding area, as well as the hotel itself, provides many opportunities for guests to actively relax. The hotel meets the most demanding requirements and provides professional service with an emphasis on individual requirements of our guests, who can stay in beautiful rooms with a view of Bojnice. We have 65 rooms. Each room has its own bathroom (bath, shower) and WC, fridge with minibar, TV, WIFI. Central safe available at reception, safe deposit box upon request at no charge. For your congress or conference, we offer conference rooms within our hotel, as well as a meeting room, a bar, a banquet, a lounge and other variable interior spaces of the hotel for 10 to 190 persons. We offer our clients audiovisual equipment with a projection on a separate screen, air-conditioning and there is also free Wi-Fi connection.

This hotel is in a great location to access the town and the castle. The rooms are small but appeared to be clean. This hotel needs to be updated, in my opinion. The bed is very hard, which was not a problem for me but I heard complaints from others. The staff were professional and courteous. The bathroom was small and there was a shower head but no shower curtain so taking a shower was interesting, to say the least. There was a fan but it didn't work very well so the room was hot, unless I opened the window and then it was cooler but very loud from the street noise. The breakfast buffet was EXCELLENT...great variety and tasty.

Although this hotel is rated 4 stars, nothing about it rises to a level above 2 stars. It is very basic, and thankfully, our tour group of 22 spent only one night here.
My spouse and I were given room #118, which was tiny and cramped. The two twin beds took up most of the space. This room was also very hot. It faced a busy street. We tried to cool it down by opening the window, but the road noise prevented us from sleeping well. As such, we had to decide whether we wanted to sweat throughout the night, or listen to all the cars and trucks roar by.
The bathroom was also small, and the tub shower did not have a shower curtain to keep the water from spraying around the room and onto the floor. Additionally, the soap dispenser fell off the wall when my husband tried to use it, causing a terrific mess!
There were two miniature elevators in the hotel lobby, and one was a killer that slammed shut on your body if you didn't jump in immediately. The lobby also had a few killer marble steps that were not marked. Several of us stumbled multiple times because the marble all blended together.
The breakfast buffet was also substandard, featuring runny scrambled eggs and rubbery poached eggs that resembled plastic.
The only good things I can say about this hotel is that it is a short walk from the castle, and everyone was given a generous glass of rum and tonic when we arrived.

the location as everyone states is fantastic...short walk to the castle and one is right in the center of this little town...can’t complain about our room...quiet since we faced the parking lot and not the Main Street...bed was hard and I like it that way...bathroom and bedroom were on the average size for European standard...the furniture were new...not fancy but certainly in a modern looking even though cheap style...room was clean and I appreciated that ......best part was the staff...super friendly...all of them...the bar has a great collection of alcohol and we enjoyed a drink there in the afternoon....once we got back from dinner around 8:30 pm...it was closed already!!!!

This hoteI should not be more than 2 STARS!! The photos of the rooms are far from the reality. They have 2-3 renovated rooms which are on the photos but other rooms are at least 30 years old, dirty carpets, dirty walls, disgusting chairs, old TV. The receptionist was very arogant. We booked this room with my husband through a website called Zlamovat. Hopefully, the customer service lady rebooked us to a different hotel which was a real 4 stars with Wellness and SPA.

My second time at the Hotel pod Zamkom. It was extremely good, I felt like king. Hotel has really amazing location - castle is just step away (near is also ZOO), staff is very nice, very kind and professional (big praise for them). They have night reception also. I like breakfast - you can use coffee machine that has really tasty and quality coffee. At breakfast besides standar meals you can also eat two types of sausages, eggs (mixed or eye). Room was clean and big, my check-in was very fast and Wi-fi was working good. Hotel also has indoor pool - it is not extra charged. Next time i must come in company. That is why i recommend this hotel! Furthermore Bojnice is really nice & romantic small town - for castle lovers and for couples.

Now I have stayed at 4 hotels in Bojnice and Prievidza in the last few months I think I am in a good position to do a good comparison. The Pod Zankom advertises with 4 stars. I think this comes though more from the facilities than the rooms. I was in a room on the " renovated" 1st floor. The room had 2 single, identical, beds which looked like they had been designed to fit against a wall so looked quite strange next to each other i.e. bed ,cabinet, bed , cabinet. The furniture did seem quite new but not of a high quality. The " renovated" room seemed to have new wall paper which was already coming off at the corners and the new carpet had been fitted around the furniture leaving gaps where it had not been fitted correctly. The plastic swing top bin in the room was also not really of 4 Star quality. The worst of all is the bathroom. This has old looking facilities and the craziest thing is that the shower is a standard mixer tap in the bath but there is no shower curtain or anything to stop you flooding the bathroom. This is also quiet dangerous climbing out of the bath with a wet and slippy floor. On the positive side the hotel has lots of free parking and the public areas are really quite nice. It has a large restaurant and bar in the building. The problem here though is that breakfast is served in the restaurant which tended to smell of old cigarettes. Not the most welcoming smell first thing in the morning. Breakfast is reasonable but not the best in Bojnice. There is a buffet with hot and cold selections or the hot selection is offered seperatly if the hotel has only a few guests. There is also a Saeco self service coffee machine, which when it works, makes all of the right noises but then produces a cup of Nescafe. The staff were very friendly.

Pluses: Personnel (receptionists) is/are very nice, positive and helpful. I feel so welcomed in the hotel. Big plus for them! Hotel in a great location (really very close to the fairytale castle Bojnice). Close to the castle is also ZOO - it is also worth to visit. My room was big, nice and clean. Breakfast was tasty and quite good choice (I missed croissaints) Anyway in the hotel they have also restaurant but unfortunately I did not have time to try food there.
Minuses: Wifi in room was not working good so it was hard to use internet. Internet was working solid only when I moved with my computer one floor lower - the place where they have armchairs. In bathroom I missed hair-dryer. They should have it in the hotel with 4 stars.

GOOD: + Very close to the castle. + Free WiFi internet in rooms. + Free car parking. + Check-out is at 12:00.
BAD: - Very slow WiFi in the room. - Tiny room with cheap and basic furniture of 3-star class hotel. - No air conditioner in any room of the hotel, may be very hot in summer times. - It is hard to find a parking place in the evening. - Restaurant in the hotel is open till 22:00. - No curtain in the shower, so the floor is very wet and slippery. - Breakfast is from 7 to 10, and it is very basic and tasteless; omelet, sausages, vegetables, yogurt, bread, juices, tea or coffee, no desserts, no fruits, and staff stops replenish food after 9:00.

Stayed there for one night in June 2014. Hotel advertize itself as 4 stars, in reality not even 1. Breakfast, some local taxes and parking were extra to room prices. Room and bathroom dirty. Mattresses, blankets and pillows had yellow stains. No AC, staff is rude, service is terrible. When leaving – I was stuck in elevator. Nobody reacted to ringing from elevator cab. My husband returned from parking lot, were he was loading luggage into our cur – he run to receptionist, who was talking to some friend and ignoring all ringing and calls for help. He told her “ my wife is in elevator, call police or fire department” – she continue with her conversation!!! Finally she called a hotel owner, he had spare key to open elevator, so we took rest of our luggage down by stairs. No apology from receptionist or owner, no help with luggage. Stay away from this hotel. Even though it is closest to the castle, just couple of blocks down the street is Best Western, if I am ever in Bojnice again I will go there instead.

I Arrived late for bussiness in Bojnice. I Became a price offer at the hotel reception and did check in for 4 days.. However, one hour after I had being dragging all my luggage to my room, I was informed about all sorts of additional costs like parking, breakfast, local tax etc, although I did clearly ask for a all inclusive price at the start. Car parking is located behind the hotel, and there is a separate entrance from the parking lot to the hotel. But reception refused to open the connecting door. Therefore I needed the carry all luggages across a slippery and frozen path around the hotel. No assistance was offered. Rooms are small and dark. Wi-Fi is functioning well at the rooms, but not available in the hall or restaurant. No shower curtain in the bathroom, therefore daily an unacceptable completely wet bathroom floor. TV set is outdated. (Automatic) corridor lighting works only when you enter from the hallway side and is not available from the roomsite. Therefore, you find yourself in a pitch-dark corridor while leaving your room. In the room, wardrobe site is unacceptable dark, Hotel bar is permanently closed. Restraurant is open nearly all hours of the day ,food is tasty and of good quality. Upon departure, no reception inquiries were made about my findings. Staff is generally showing a baffling lack of interest.
