Some of the staff were really rude. We just entered the room and the hotel maid shouted rudely on us in russian because we were there 15 minutes before check in time. The next unpleasant surprise was that the shades on the windows were broken. Was not possible to close them. The girl in the reception told us it's not posible to fix them. The only solution for us was to change our room into the single one even when we were two persons. The only good thing in that hotel were the reception ladies, who were really polite and wanted to help us. That's the only reason i put two stars instead of one.
amazing behaviour diferences between workers. some of them very helpfull and calm. others just complaining for any question. very good sport facilities and very close to mezapark.10 euros far away from old down town by taxi.not very good breakfast but good kitchen in case you dinner in restaurant. with very good staff in the restaurant. about rooms. some of them cozy and confortable. others were not renovated and was a bit disaster. (mine). bed linen small for bed. broken floors...etc... and the configuration of beds were not ideal for us as i traveled with my couple. and beds were 5m one from other.but good quaility for price.
Beatiful place near lake,Pets allowed, very good steam sauna, tickets for zoo not far from hotell.cafe and bar allowing tasteful meals.no shops near but busstop is close so you can take a bus to a shopping centre.
Only good thing in this hotel was the friendly guy in the reception. Rooms were horrible: unclean and stinky. We checked out 7 o'clock in the morning, as we just wanted to get out and quickly. Hotel doesn't have guarded/fenced parking area. We were realky scared to live our car on the street, in the front of the hotel.
I had to rate this place as 1, but trust me: this place doesn't worth even 1. The hall where all the rooms are, was quite dark. We had to look for a switch.it looks awful! Disgusting! The room was dirty. Quite small. I have been travelled a lot and I can say that this is the worst hotel I have ever seen.On the walls in the room were dry food leftovers, skirting boards/plinths were covered with dust, curtains had a holes and looked like they haven't been washed at all since they were bought. On the ceiling, just above the lamp, were black, blue and red ink lines. Bathroom wasn't cleaner as well - in the sink was someone's black hair. the carpet was dirty with a lot of stains. The room had a balcony door, but there is no balcony at all. What the manager(s)/owner(s) have to do is to close this building and fully refurbish it. Everything and every single corner of this hotel. The furniture, the TVs, the showers, the sinks - everything in this hotel must be thrown away and replaced with new ones. Do not believe the pictures of the rooms on the website! it is not how it looks like in reality! I can't say anything about their facilities, as we didn't use any of those. Being a Latvian myself (but not from Riga, although I know the capital pretty well), i can surely say: the hotel is located far from the city centre. Mezaparka (the area where hotel is located) is not so close. If you drive, then it's probably shouldn't be a problem, but if you have to use a public transport... Keep in mind that Riga is not a big city like London or Madrid, for example, and the public transport does NOT run 24/7. It also does not run very often and very late. At all. Just for information: we waited for the bus 45 mins! it will take you another 30-40 minutes to reach the city centre. Is it really what you need? Just a small advice: google "hotels in Old Riga" and you will have a lot of hotels to choose - big or small. Yes, the price will be a bit higher, but it will be nearby or in the city centre, shops, clubs restaurants etc, and it will be clean. If you are a tourist , I am sure you don't want to spend one hour way to your hotel or to rush to the last bus. When I come to Riga and stay there for a night or few nights, I always choose something in the Old Riga. There are quite many a pretty good, clean and affordable hotels in the city centre. Hotels which cannot be even compared to this one.…
By complete misunderstanding (by the way because of hotel system mistake) the room was not prepaid. We found out that only after the night spent in hotel. We woke up freezing. Turned out the hotel turned off the heating... (middle of winter). Who would come out to this idea of punishing the guest?..... Then the team of kids came to hotel, playing in the corridor with the ball, bouncing to my door just right now (10 pm). The noice in the room is just as in the middle of basketball game. The rooms are extremely old. Breakfast boring, all the same. Coffee cold... Never wrote such a review. But never visited such a "hotel"...
The hotel is not very clean, the staff was very unkind, the room was rather small. We stayed there for 2 nights, and after the 1st night they didn't even come to do the beds and clean the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible: the bread was even moldy!
I dont know about baltia/russian standards but european travellers should avoid this hotel because hotel description does not match with reality. - Rooms (family room) does not match with photos at all, carpet is full of dirt Bathroom is discusting - Spa / sauna is not clean, water in pools is not clean, bigger pool is used all the time by some athelitics - Restaurant is basically non exsistent I would not recommend even for my worst enemies
First, I did not stay in hotel overnight, but we used hotel premises to organize kids birthday party. And based on that experience I can say only the best - swimming pool was clean, warm water (no kids complain after 90 minutes in pool), has some sauna and there is lady who constantly looks after pool area. Prices are very good taking in consideration location - near lake in one of the most prestige location in Riga - there is huge park with lot of playgrounds for kids, zoo in walking distance and it is approximately 200 meters from tram final stop. After active party part, food was served and picas were delicious. There is one small downside - for some reason you need to preorder some dishes day in advance or they will not be available - for example - ice cream cocktails. Restaurant area is very nice as it has ceiling windows and you can enjoy sun bath. And best part - it was not crowded and pool area was very quite - even if you are not staying in this hotel, you can visit pool area.…
A swimming pool has very cold water in it. I got a cold after swimming there! They are using some fake termoeter to indicate water temperature. Also the trainers periodically open the door to the street where the weather was windy and cold, too. Awful!
