Just spent four nights here and had a great stay, reception were quick and always ready to help you with any questions. It is ideally located in the old town and close to the central station and market, it was always warm and the room clean and functional, although not many tv channels to chose from. Breakfast was easy to navigate with a large selection of everything you would need, wi-fi was also excellent. If i am ever in Riga again i would not hesitate to book here.
In the heart of the old city. Close to restaurants, the shopping centre, the squares where the Tours leave from, and the main tourist attractions. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff. International breakfast, excellent and varied, hot and cold. Excellent. Highly recommended.
I just stayed 15 nights at this property, so I feel I know it intimately! The location is excellent except for one item: it is directly adjacent to Paddy Whelan’s pub, and several nights a week the pub gets super loud, usually starting about 6 PM, but ending by 10.30 or so. If you can live with that, everything else is “smooth sailing.” Breakfast has a wide variety of options, but a word to the wise: when the hotel is full, it can be tough finding a place to sit, especially on weekends. So it’s advisable to get there either early or late. While this is certainly a boutique hotel, for Americans, it is similar to a Hampton Inn; for Europeans, it is similar to an Ibis property, with a good breakfast. The WiFi was exceptional- I never had a problem. Two tips concerning services you may require. There is a small shopping center, exactly 400 steps from the hotel entrance. If you go through the main entrance, 20m to the right is a terrific grocery store - Rimi. It has everything one could possibly need. If you need to get money exchanged, do not use any of the exchanges in Old Town: they advertise “No Commission”, but they end up ripping you off for about 13%! Instead, if you go to the Freedom Monument and pass it, on the right hand side, heading in the direction of the clearly-visible Radisson Blu Hotel. Cross the first street, and go 90 steps. You will see a red sign saying, “Marika.” The street address is: Brivibas Bulvaris 30. They offer a very reasonable exchange. Not a 10 minute walk from the Old Town. The front desk staff were helpful. Georgs and Armands were most friendly, and Armands went out of his way to help with a particular issue. Overall, this is a fine property, just keeping in mind the noise issue from the adjoining bar.…
Felt very welcome at check-in despite the late arrival. Hotel is ideally located for a quick visit to Riga (stopover on flight between London and Tallinn) as all the visitor attractions are within easy walking distance. Room was comfortable and nice and quiet despite the closeness to the centre. Breakfast was good.
Amazing. Location is perfect for visiting vecrīga, rīga town, market and bars. Within 10-15 minute walk or less to main tram, bus and train routes. 3 minute walk to bus stop for the Airport for example, same stop for the tram to mežparks. 10 minute walk to train station for train to the beach. Very practical location and well equipped hotel. Excellently clean room and facilities, hot water immediately and very helpful and welcoming staff. The breakfast is exactly what you need in Rīga and well worth the price. Tip: you can prepare your own take away coffee juice, water at breakfast on the go. Very reasonable price. My second trip to Rīga this spring after my first stay I booked the same hotel again and received the same excellent communication and service. The rooms given the location are surprisingly silent, easy night's sleep. …
The hotel is in a fantastic location - very central and within walking distance of everything. We had a family room with 4 beds and it was a great size and never felt cramped at all as it had high ceilings and even a sitting area. Breakfast wasn't great and the food was barely warm but coffee was good! I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be centrally located. Its also so near to bars and restaurants but beware if you are travelling in February they are hard core on Covid. Only seat 4 to a table, need to wear a mask everywhere and be prepared to show your covid pass and passport wherever you go. On one occasion we were not allowed to enter a supermarket without the correct "medical" mask! Though none of this should put you off visiting as its a beautiful country and very cheap too.…
Great hotel situated in a central location. We stayed here for 3 nights the room was warm, comfortable, well equipped with a comfy bed. The only thing that did not make this a 5 star review was the breakfast. It was adequate but not a lot of choice & the hot food was barely warm. However, this would not stop us staying here again or recommending it to others.
Location perfect in the middle of Rigas old town. Paid parking in the courtyard. Many pubs and restaurants around. The noise from the street did not bother. Breakfast OK. Room cleaning could be better.
Stayed for one night. Arrived in the evening by car. The guy in the reception could not find our reservation that we had made thru Hestias website on the morning. Fortunately his colleague was probably more experienced, she found our booking and helped us to get checked in. It is mandatory to wear face masks indoors and you have to present the vaxination certificate. We had also reserved a parking spot in the hotel yard. The entrance is a bit hidden, the lot itself is quite small, also more suitable for smaller cars. As we got the last free spot, manoeuvring in the lot was a bit tricky. Got the room to the street side. It was small and worn out. Air conditioning was turned into max and room was like freezer. Heating function did not work. Turned the thing off and went to town looking for a place to have dinner. So the location is good if you are interested spending your time in the Riga old town. It was Saturday night with warm weather, people were on the streets and pubs. The noise from the street is heard inside the room, despite the double windows, so if you`re light sleeper, bring earplugs. The next morning when we went to have breakfast, the hall behind our room door smelled like sewerage, it was quite bad. Breakfast was not bad but not also anything to be proud of. Unfortunately it was not the most pleasant stay for us. If you`re looking for a hotel in the Old town, the location is good, but please consider that hotel itself is worn and tired, noise from the street at least on the weekends is annoying, parking in the yard with bigger car difficult. I`m guessing there's better choices available for the same price range.…
The location is fantastic. It is in amongst many restaurants, shops and bars and of course a lot of important landmarks are within a short walking distance and the Central Market is only a 10 minute stroll away. The staff here are friendly and efficient and the rooms were cleaned during our stay and the necessities and clean towels provided for without having to make a request. The Wifi worked perfectly and the TV seemed fine for those that don't want to explore the city. We stayed in room 304 and considering all of the bars nearby we had a great sleep so they have protected guests as best as they could. A tip for this success? Close both windows. Breakfast was plentiful and had plenty of choice to cater for all. It was such a nice touch when the staff had a packed breakfast for us both due to our early flight home and that showed this hotel cares about their guests. The airport transfers were hassle free and they provided a friendly driver and it was good value for money too. Definitely an enjoyable stay in a great location.…
