Excellent small hotel with a good friendly service. Loved it. Misha the parrot is also worth a mention. Rooms are good, clean and spacious. The location at the heart of the old town is also excellent. We could walk to everywhere from there. Recommend
We arrived in the hotel and got a free room upgrade, we should not have taken that, I am just curious what the difference between the ordinary room we got and the lower version would be. The TV is very small, so what, but only one channel worked, they said it could be fixed the next day. The bathtub is made out of plastics, is very narrow and makes a squeaky noice when you step in it. I ordered a burger in the hotel restaurant and asked for medium to medium rare, it came well done, after more than one hour. The restaurant was not really crowded, I did not have to pay the burger, but it ruined the experience. In total I know far better 3 to 5 star hotels. The grand palace can not live up to the expectations it sets, they advertise it to be one of the leading hotels in the world. We stayed in the grand poet hotel in Riga the other time and I have to say that I enjoyed the grand poet hotel a lot more, it felt more like a five star hotel.…
Currently here on third night of a three night stay. Nice hotel in good location in Old Town. Rooms are very comfortable and staff are very friendly. Can't comment on the breakfast or bar as we have not used either. Spa is good to use after a day out in the cold and have enjoyed a half hour spell Thursday and Friday BUT tonight despite having booked was told I would have to ammend my booking to accommodate people who had booked after me!! Really!! 5* superior!! Disappointing.
Well worth staying here, value for money hotel. In the Old Town but a quiet area. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff that made you feel seen. Excellent breakfast and delicious food in the restaurant. Will be coming back.
Stayed in this hotel on my trip to Riga. It is nice and cosy hotel with clean rooms, lovely food and excellent service throughout! As it is not in season the hotel wasn't very busy which was perfect for me, the staff is very pleasant and extremely helpful, I did dine at the hotels bar every evening and it was lovely, the service provided by Juris is great, as I am rather difficult customer to please, I can say with honesty everything about my stay was great, that's why I will be staying in this lovely hotel on my next trip to Riga next week, see you soon!!
The hotel is in a quiet back street in the old town. We were lucky and got an upgrade but wow what a hotel best i have stayed in and there has been a lot all over the world. The food was great the staf are fantastic and overall an amazing place close to all tourists spots and a total hit. They even have a parrot which we found amusing. Cant speak highly enough of the hotel highly recommend
We stayed at the Grand Palace Hotel in Riga - the property definitely embodies old world charm with modern luxury. We stayed in a Suite that was lovely and had ample room. My only complaint was that if you book through Expedia, breakfast is not included while their website stated breakfast is included. We upgraded to a suite once we got to the property and again were frustrated that breakfast was not included. Short of the issue with breakfast - the hotel was a great combination of charm, luxury, and modern convenience. I would definitely recommend.
We stayed in Riga for a few nights in this lovely and perfectly located hotel. The rooms were a bit small and I was missing a kettle for an early morning coffee, but the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the stuff very friendly and helpful . Would definitively stay here again.
This is our hotel of choice in Riga. Great place and wonderful service. Staff are extremely friendly, attentive and professional. A special thank you to Keitija and Helena for your lovely service at breakfast and for making us feel so welcome. We very much look forward to seeing you all again on our next trip to Riga!
This is a fabulous hotel on every front. The rooms are clean and well stocked and includes an excellent minibar. The staff are polite, attentive, efficient and professional. The hotel is very well placed in the old town. The food was first class. This is my go to hotel when staying in Riga. My overall feeling about this hotel is that it oozes elegance.
