The Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga was originally built in the 19th century and is situated in the heart of the Latvian capital just opposite the National Opera House. The hotel provides a great entrance to the town’s historic centre with all the major sightseeing attractions just minutes away by foot. The Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga offers up to date classically furnished 114 spacious rooms and suites incl. SPA, pool and fitness centre. It further more offers great ball rooms and convention facilities. I believe a casino is also within the property. Unfortunately I only stayed a night, way to short for a city like Riga or the hotel to explore everything but I was impressed by the welcoming, friendly and professional staff I encountered during this short visit (incl. but not limited to organized airport transfer, valet, check-in/check out, turn down service, concierge and breakfast staff). My room on the 7th floor overlooking Latvias National Opera was spotless clean, spacious, well appointed and quiet. I really enjoyed my stay in Riga at the Grand Hotel and my "discovery" of the Kempinski brand in general. GM Carmen Mauthner and her team have a great hotel, lovely dedicated staff to further create a splendid future. I hope to be back soon in the Baltics and in Riga's Grand hotel. …
Positive: Luxury hotel in a heart of Riga old town. Very spacious and clean rooms. Nice winter decorations in the lobby area. Very friendly staff. Negative: Could be much more better service at the breakfast time. It is difficult to use spa area with kids (8 y.o). It is allowed only until 3 p.m.
I went to " Stage 22 " bar at Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga and was terribly disappointed about everything to be honest. Seems like they did a great job with the rest of the hotel and had to hurry up to finish upstairs. All the photos of the bar on their website and social media are edited, looks nothing like that in real life. It's cold and uninviting, zero atmosphere, bad lighting, sleepy, unprofessional service and they charge same prices as you would pay in Paris or Milan! It's not worth it! Never again!!
This is the hotel you want in Riga. If I had a magic lamp, my wish would be to live in this hotel forever. Everything was perfect. The staff were incredible at reception, housekeeping, spa, and the bar. The hipster bartender with the mustache knows how to make fine cocktails. The spa alone was worth booking a stay. The gym has all the machines and fair amount of free weights. There were no negatives. We didn’t eat the breakfast and that is a regret based on the quality of everything else.
My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying at the Kempinski for 5 nights last week and absolutely loved it! From the charming hotel facade and lobby, tremendous staff and lovely facilities everything about our stay was perfect! The room was large and had a heated bathroom floor! And came complete with a bath! On the last day we had a very early morning flight and the team made us a takeaway breakfast hamper each. Highly recommend this property right in the old Riga area. Look forward to staying again soon!
Great location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Beautiful Spa.. Loved my stay in Riga at this hotel, Can recommomend highly. Visit The kgb museum, very touching. Important to remember what Latvia has gone throgh
Beautiful hotel we loved everything about it.We wish that we stayed longer or just move in.The staff made us feel so comfortable the concierges day and night shift did for us all and more what we asked. Our son had his own slippers, a robe , games ,pencils and colouring book, baby bubbles and the lotion like a little king.Spa area so nice and staff helpful and accommodating nothing too much to ask.
Stayed with one teen age child on a 3 day city break. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed but all the facilities were open. The staff were helpful and efficient, the rooms were clean, comfortable, well decorated and spacious. The main restaurant provided a surprisingly extensive breakfast and a good selection of dishes throughout the day. The location is great - an easy walk to many of the sights and right opposite the park. All in all an ideal city centre hotel.
Great hotel in a great location. Can't find fault with any aspect of our stay. Excellent breakfast and a clean and spacious room, (a superior room). Nice staff. We didn't eat in during the evening though we did visit Stage 22. That was well worth it as the ambience was lovely. We had a cocktail each.
A very good experience, everything was perfect: a relaxing swimming pool, a watering breakfast, a comfortable room and kindness everywhere. Great professionality. the perfect place to enjoy your holiday.
