I didn't like one thing. In the e-mail I wrote what kind of vehicle I would like to arrive, I gave the make and model. On the spot, it turned out that the car is too big and I have to pay for two parking spaces.
Very Nice hotel but not very good bed, Nice location and spa treatments. Nothing to say about cleaning or service. Also had a good breakfast buffet. We recommend the hotel and that you use Bolt to get around in Riga.
Pros: Nicely decorated hotel with polite staff and a great location. They gym is one of the best ones I have seen in hotels around Europe. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice and the food is very tasty. Location is great, literally 5mins walk from the Old Town. The cons: For majority of room rates you need to pay extra 20 EUR to use the swimming pool, which is too much and is not mentioned when you book.
The hotel immediately tempts you with its perfect location on the imaginary border between Riga culture center and the river Daugava, its lobby smartly designed with mirrors to make it appear very large and shiny. The line between me and the helpful lady behind the front desk was concerning, as I had planned back-to-back almost every minute of my meeting outside the hotel. However the administration dealt with the clients swiftly, even though they not only talked about the rooms, but also guided the clients to elevators and other parts of the hotel. Passing by, the lobby had a large sepia-colored bar tucked behind some decorative indoors trees, just waiting to ambush the next cheerful hotel guest, appeared to be much larger than I imagined. too bad we will be having an evening outside, otherwise this looked like a splendid spot to enjoy the evening with friends or business partners. The rooms felt cosy, clean, well kept, well lit. Exactly what was needed for a refreshing stay. The bathrooms, often the culprit for bad reviews for any hotel, were in great condition in Radisson. Lack of sewing kit and robes was the only things that felt out of ordinary. The windows did not open fully, as it is now with all hotels. I wonder if there have been a wave of hotel accidents involving windows, that it is now almost universal rule that thou shall not have thy window open in a hotel. Late evening was spent in SPA and restaurant. The SPA zone provided the comforts of large basins, large enough that the cheerful chatter and hustling around of the kids were not a problem. The SPA spoilt with a large steam room, enough to disappear in the far corners, icy basin to cool down, salt sauna. The pool, surrounded with beach chairs had a bar in the middle offering well made margaritas, pina coladas and other cocktails, worked by the friendliest staff you can find. The restaurant we visited twice - for breakfast and for dinner, offered a feeling of comfort and an actual restaurant, rather than the attempt to be a restaurant, as many hotels had. The choices for breakfast were very good, even though it lacked freshly baked vaffles, it compensated with, many choices of cereals, breads and drinks, very tasty bacon and omlets. Not being huge fan of vaffles, I loved the breakfast. The dinner was punctuated by ordering an excellent Italian wine, the servant being very professional, explaining, opening, pouring. At the end, Wellton has definitely showed great quality. …
Trip from Baltic Sea to Vilnius and visiting Riga. Stay was very cozy and good. Bed was absolutely comfy. Breakfast choise was on top. Really good time. Parking area in the back of hotel, for xtra charge. Hotel it self high quality and the roof view is panoramic. Def will come back on summer. Thanks
We had a spacious room, suitable for 3 friends. One double bed and an extra bed (chair made into bed). The extra bed was better than expected, but with only one, bad pillow (the double bed had two p.p). Got an extra pillow on request though! Bathroom was pretty and with a lagre mirror, was nice as we were three girls.. shower, no bathtub. We did not hear any noice from other guests,- could hear some traffic when the window was open but nothing that bothered us. Breakfast with prosecco was new and something we really cam get used to! Otherwise, we were split as to how pleased we were with the breakfast; me, I was really pleased with both personell and broad choice of food, both hot and cold. Some of my friends missed a few intems like naturelle yoghurt and more vegetable ‘topping’ to mention some. I particulary liked the different sallads and choice between different types of pancakes, but was not too keen about the juices.. the Hotel is easy to find, alongside the river and on the outskirts of old Town. My friends had a bad experience with the spa, as their confirmed booking had not been registered. they were offered a new time the next day though, but it did interfere with our original plans. Reception staff was friendly and helped us with our questions. Drinks and food at the Hotel bar/restaurant was also very good!…
Unfriendly staff, they were argued in front of us. Good location. Spa was very nice. Room - big bed, low cleanliness (there was hair in bathroom. There was no free drinking water in the room. Very tasty breakfast!!
This hotel gives a real good service and it has a good sight : nearby the principal river of Riga. But the beautiful sight gives also a problem, because the hotel faces the principal road of Riga city. I was in the 5th floor, even at night, I can still hear sounds from trucks. I think it will be excellent if the sound isolation will be better.
I can only recommend :) Very good location, nice and comfortable SPA, High quality service and very good quality to price ratio. Old town in walking distance (actually it is the edge of the old town).
It was a very good and relaxing stay. The hotel is placed very central and close to a lot of good restaurants, parks, etc. Rooms are nice, clean and modern. Beds are very comfy. Breakfast in the morning was also good. Though one notice, when you are a 4 star hotel, juice at breakfast should be freshly made and not from tetrapak with all the additives.
