Location was ok for accessing old town/city center. Not perfect, but ten minute walk took us from the proximity of railway station to centre quite easily also giving us a good view on real face of Tarto. Even if we arrived quite late hosts welcomed us warmly. We arrived by car and we were given useful tips on how to to get our car parked for free near hotel. Room was ok when compared to price. It was not the most modern room, but there was some good feeling of history and character in the room. A tip for the families. Near hotel there is a small and quite interesting playground on the opposite site of road. A good way to keep children occupied for some time, if needed.
It was exactly the right accommodation for our one-night stay with our dogs. Guesthouse is very close to our destination. In room was TV and flatware, cups and three towels to both. All furniture originated from 90-s, but it's ok with that price. It was also a bit poor door from room to corridor, so you could hear perfectly what is going on in corridor. Staff is friendly and room was enough big. Additionally You can ask for your morning coffee (4€).
Clean and friendly place near Tartu railway station, outside from citycentre. This guest house with garden is very suitable, if you travel with children. There is also a public park on the other side of the road. Round the corner there is Vaksali 17 cafe, next to pharmacy. It serves pancakes, simple lunch etc. It is open 9-17. It was the only such place in the neighbourhood.
As I planned my overnight staying in Tartu too late, there was quite hard to find free beds in lower end budget hostels. Rändur was my last hope : ) I was pleasantly surprized- it was very clean (there were not even a waterdroplet stains in the bathroom) and staff was friendly and helpful. If you dont mind 15-20 minute walk from the center of Tartu and you just need place for sleeping then Rändur is ideal palce to stay.
