We stayed at Park Hotel many years ago and also checked it out 5 years ago . The location was nice and the price was right. We walked by again this past July 2019 and discovered that it no longer exists. It is now a school.
This old-fashioned hotel is situated just 500m from the city center. The first impression is not very happy. The inside look is like from 80s. I stayed in the romm nr. 24 for 4 nights. The equipment is rather old but the bed was amazing. They serve breakfast on the 1st floor, which is really simple but it tasty and fresh. The wifi signal is quite fine. To sum up, reasonable place for reasonable price in comparison with other Tartu hotels. I will return here.
The room in which we stayed for one night was clean and had all the basics we needed. The large squeegee broom in the bathroom gave warning that the whole bathroom floor flooded when anyone showered. Reception staff were helpful and the location is great - an easy walk to the town square.
The hotel is little hard to find as it is located in the middle of a park. You can walk in 10 minutes to the city center and there is free parking outside the hotel. It's quite old-fashioned as they haven't made any restorations for decades(?). We had a big corner room on the upper floor, which had windows on two sides. And yes, there is no elevator. The breakfast was quite basic, but four women found what they wanted. The staff speaks English and is helpful.
This hotel was a bit hard to find, but once we did we liked it. It is quite basic though so don't expect anything fancy. In fact, I would say 50's Soviet Era Decor would be my best description. That just adds to the charm in my opinion. There are no elevators so you need to carry your bags up the stairs. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is included and parking is free. The breakfast was very good. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Town Hall Square along the route that passes the Angel and Devil's Bridges. I will post some photos soon.
This is a hotel to avoid unless you're desperate! Difficult to find and satnav didn't recognise the address, though when you've found it the location is good for the university and local attractions. I specifically asked for a no smoking room, but the sitting area contained an ashtray and the smell of smoke. Very old fashioned, down to the babushka who lurks around reception. Few facilities, overpriced - seriously - and a poor selection for breakfast. My room was not cleaned properly and clearly used towels were not replaced. A relic of the Soviet era that has not improved with time.
Hotel is located in the center of the Tartu park, near the Univercity and Old Town. A little bit old-fashion, but very quite. Good breakfast, free parking, wonderful view. Will recommend and visit again.
This hotel is pretty central located, yet in a quiet neighbourhood, beutiful view into a park from the room window. Only a few minutes from the central square. Friendly service and also the brekafast was quite ok. Free parking. Would stay here again.
The hotel is up a very steep hill and difficult to find. There was one hair dryer available in the whole hotel, no air conditioning, fans or ice. Rooms small and dated. Little English spoken here. Do not recommend at all.
Park Hotel is nice and close to the university. Specifically located back in the Dome Hill park, which makes for a convenient but very unique and fun location as you are surrounded by trees and nature. It was once a residence of some sort, so it has a nice familiar atmosphere, rather than some corporate, sterile hotel.
