Economy class hotel attached to large shopping mall on the suburbs of Tartu. Good for motorised guests as provide easy access from main roads approaching Tartu and has plenty of free parking spaces. During the stay ( Sep '22 ) it was ongoing massive road repair works nearby, probably now is finished. Said that, hotel location is absolutely not good for sightseeing purposes, as you need commute additionally to city center. Reasonable priced hotel, providing balanced quality accomodation. Positive: location for guests with auto; availability of shopping mall adjusted to hotel ( you can get in without even leaving hotel doors ) Negative: poor breakfast, sound insulation Overall - acceptable, would recomend.
One night in this new hotel was a very positive experience. The place is attached to a large shopping mall with it's own entrance from the shopping area. Hotel Sophia is located some 4km from the Tartu city center but easily accessible with taxi or car. Parking is available in the hundreds. We were particularly impressed with the stylish and modern interior design of the public areas as well as the room itself which had plenty of space and amenities. Moreover the efficiency of the housekeeping needs a special compliment as all spaces were spotless and extremely clean. This is rare so hopefully the hotel keeps it this way. Kind service overall left us very impressed and we can warmly recommend this place.
Our trip was completely ruined mostly because of hotel unprofessional way of dealing with problematic people. We had problems with children under our room who run and scream and bang on walls all night and until 3am i went to reception 3 times asking to change the room or atleast talk to those people. Answer was no free rooms available and we try to to something but nothing was done to calm those kids down. Only sleeping for 2 hours went back at noon finally the lady on reception change our room to higher floor. Night administrator just lied to me that no free rooms were available. And even during tje day time those kids run across the hotel corridors on stairs and yell out of window. That was the most horrible stay i ever had in my life and i was in diffrent hotels. And also ignoring the fire safety rules when on 5th floor corridor was full of baby strollers. As hotel you need to put more attention on safety and service. Hotel otherwise is nice rooms clean and breakfast standart and good. I was in that hotel before liked the stay and thats why we decided to return but this was our last time here.…
Great for travelling for business. Quiet, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. I really liked the big TV in the room and the free wifi was very fast. The hotel is attached to a big shopping centre, so there's a lot to do in the evenings. Will definitely visit again.
The breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. Hotel is connected to one of the biggest shopping centers in Estonia. Our evenings were filled with activities since there is so much to do there. Even though the TVs in the room are humongous it was nice to have a cinema connected with the hotel. Will definetely come back!
Not my first time here. The hotel is comfortable, clean, close to he centre city and near a big shopping centre. The beds are comfortable and the room are bright and clean. Breakfast was great as they provide different options.
I have visited this hotel already several times due to mu work. I really like this place. New hotel, clean and modern rooms, delicious breakfast and always smiling staff. Everytime I feel like I’m coming home :)
We liked it very much. Room was big for all 4 of us. Breakfast was excellent -like in 4* hotels! Microwave in the room was an extra, sink too and dishes. Clean and quiet.Exit to shopping mall is an extra too. We recommend it!
Hotel is connected with shopping center, that made meal choices easier, the same with finding haircut and, as there was ice skating rink, leisure time was not an issue. Yes ,there is a cinema, but keep in mind that children movies are dubbed in estonian. Hotel itself had friendly and pleasant staff. We asked reception if we could get watter boiling cettle and they gave us. The room was clean and cozy, beds were comfy and spotless. Only thing is that it is far out of city center, but there is a bus and if you have a car, then it will be no problems. Overall we enjoyed Hotel Sophia.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the end of september. Easy to find, convenient parking. The rooms nice and warm and good size for a double. The breakfast selection was basic but did the job. The staff was excellent. Good value for money. Would return.
