Its enviable central location garners consistent praise, placing guests amidst the city's key attractions. While most guests find the rooms to be clean, comfortable, and stylish, a few have mentioned that certain room features didn't match their expectations. Clean, modern and nice hotel on an excellent location in the heart of Tartu. The experience was top notch from checkin to checkout.
Bed was comfy and we didn't hear any noise from the other rooms. Good amenities including fridge, bathrobe and slippers.
Fun little detail, unlike anywhere we've seen before, the room had a separate small room for the toilet and another small separate room for the shower. This made the stay more comfortable since the floor around the sink was never wet.
Can recommend and will stay another time if we end up coming back to Tartu.

The hotel is definitely the newest and most modern in Tartu. The location is 11/10, or more in the city center and you can't be in the middle of everything. Pleasant web check-in and out. The spa is a bit small, one small pool with different bubbles and three saunas. Each sauna has space for 4 people. The superior room was pleasantly large, with high ceilings, a large TV and a view of the park and town hall. The breakfast was good, enough choices but nothing special. One could complain about the TV channel selection. It left a lot to be desired for a 4-star hotel and should not be a place to save. I would like to separately highlight the hotel's restaurant Hõlm. The Michelin-recommended restaurant was up to standard. Great service, very beautiful serving and a very tasty dinner. Not unreasonably expensive at all. A definite recommendation.

Best hotel in Tartu. Excellent location, basically behind the city hall. Reception is friendly snd helpful. Rooms are spacious, cozy and clean. Beds and pillows are comfortable. There are slippers and bathrobes in the room, you can visit the small spa in these. In the spa there is no pool to swim, but couple of saunas and relaxing pool. There is also small gym in the basement. The breakfast in the restaurant is delicious and offers variety of different options. I have stayed in this hotel several times and it is always my hotel of choice when going to Tartu.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The toiletries are good, from the rituals range. The rooms are misrepresented. In the same category room you may be offered a smaller room than those advertised, without an armchair or the small table shown in the pictures. When I saw the room I demanded a refund as I was going to go to a different hotel. I was refused a refund within 10 minutes of the card being charged (which is as long as it took me to get to the room). Please see the pictures of the room that we were offered. The chair was a garden chair as nothing else fitted in the space .The space at the bottom of the bed was no larger than 20-30 cm (suitcases in the picture would give you a measure of the space). You could not pass through that space without performing some contortionist movements around the TV. Nothing like the pictures on booking.com After about an hour of arguing and some phone calls from reception to management I was offered a room similar to the advertised pictures but with views to the internal courtyard. Who wants to go on holiday and pay €411 for 2 nights and stare at a wall. However, as no refund was offered I was forced to accept this room. There are no coffee / tea making facilities, the TV can only be watched from the bed. Breakfast was fair, there was no egg station; the eggs on the tray were cold and had non-coagulated egg white. I would advise booking.com to take the hotel off the website as it sells rooms that are not like the ones advertised. We were informed that there are small differences between rooms but the differences that we encountered were not small. A garden chair in a hotel room! Never had that before.

Hello! Thank you very much for your feedback, we do appreciate it a lot and it´s important to us. We are very sad to hear that your room did not meet your expectations. We have brought out in Booking our smallest Classic room size what means that our customer can get these or bigger room as we truly have different sizes room, but not smallest one. Also, we definitely do not have garden chair in a hotel room. Some rooms have soft small chair/white design chair and some have an armchair. As you first room had also balcony, then it´s possible that the chair you talk about was in the balcony. Our customers can enjoy free different coffees and tea in our lounged on the fist floor. Once again, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoyed your stay. Best regards, hotel Lydia team

Very comfortable and cozy room on the 5th floor of the hotel, overlooking Toomemäe. The room had everything you need. Contactless check-in and check-out of the hotel was guaranteed, as well as a mobile room key for the duration of the visit. The breakfast was very plentiful and there was a choice for everyone, it is also intended for vegans (various vegan dishes, which are brought upon request, but they are available). The breakfast was also intended for small children, with a selection of several different prepared foods from a local producer. The food lasted until the end of breakfast. A visit to the spa was also included in the room price. In terms of time, unfortunately we didn't get there this time, but we will definitely get there on our next visit. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant Hõlm was fantastic. When you went to dinner, you felt welcome and the waiters made sure you felt good. The menu is both a la carte and a 5-course tasting menu, to which you can order a matched drink selection. The restaurant also has a children's play corner, so it is also intended for the youngest customers. It is definitely worth booking a table in advance and taking time for dinner. We will definitely visit this hotel again.

Very modern and excellent choice for a hotel in the heart of Tartu. The location cannot be beat given it is directly across from the main square in town. The service was excellent. The automated online check in offered the day before arrival meant check in upon arrival was a breeze. We had a lovely, spacious room with excellent shower in the bathroom. The breakfast was a delight and Prosecco is served on weekends, which was a nice touch. Tea and coffee making is provided in the room and this was the only hotel on our trip that had complimentary tea/coffee/cocoa in the lobby which one could have at any time.
There are lots of hotels to choose from, but I felt the Lydia was the best.

Really comfortable bed, wonderful staff and ample breakfast. I especially loved the observe the service during the breakfast which was quick and professional with constant refilling of trays which I appreciated a lot. Great selection of teas as well. So good, in fact, that I ordered bunch of Paper&Tea myself after leaving the place:)
Couple of functions in the spa were not working which was a bit of a let down for the price we paid but hopefully it will be fixed.

This is a lovely gem of a hotel nestled in the gorgeous town of Tartu. We found it by chance as we needed accommodations for one night while visiting our daughter who was studying there. The location is great - right near the town square. The room was immaculate and very comfortable and the front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. We booked online and received very prompt and detailed answers to all questions we had during the process. The breakfast which was included with our room rate was outstanding - so much variety and delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very good, excellent beds and tasty breakfast with rich selection. On the top of Spa-lounge and fitness room. It could be almost perfect, but rooms can be cleaner and check-in system should be better (confusing HotelBuddy e-mails).

We would appreciate if you can specify the exact situation, then please write us direct. Thank you and best regards, hotel Lydia team

Lydia is a nice hotel, great location and service. Excellent food- both breakfast and dinner. One minus is that it’s difficult to understand how the lights in the room work. Also it was tricky to share a room with a friend, as the bathroom is “open”. Ladies specially miss the oppurtunity to wash their hands in the wc and it was uncomfy to go to the shower or use the toilet, if your roommate is sleeping.
