Reading some of the reviews, they mention staff are quite rude or negative. We have not found that. Checkin was quick and friendly, while other staff we have dealt with were great. The hotel is so well positioned to the ferry terminals, barely 5 minutes walk, while 10 minutes to the Centre of the Old Town. The area is quiet at night but has a lot of shops right next door. Everything you could want, from alcohol to hot food. The rooms were not large but larger than some we have come across on our trip. The real issue is no AC. It was very hot in Tallinn while we were there, which meant hot rooms. We did ask for a fan, which was delivered to our room. It was on 24/7. This lack of AC is a real issue with accommodation providers now as the climate heats up, something they are going to have to address. Breakfast was good with plenty on offer. We were particularly impressed how they kept up with the food throughout. If it ran out, it was quickly replenished. All in all, a good stay but hot nights.…
Its not normal how they just take the money before talk with the client! Booked that hotel with gift card what was for my bithday! And the manual says that if you book it, then you must give this number and thats all! I did it when i booked and also the secons time when i did check Out i gave them that number for be sured that all is paid! They took it and sayd everythig okei! But after when i saw my bank acount, they took full money anyway. So i called them and they said that they cant use it in that terms! But manual said that it is used like this!! Also were this giftcard came , they say that is just simple - i give the this number and they give me money back!! Its all nonsens and i am very very dissapointed !!!!!
Im Russian speaking person living in Finland, had some unpleasant experience during my stay. I stayed in this hotel in Easter 2022 and had a positive impression. This time when I spoke Russian to a Russian speaking personnel ( blond pregnant woman) on a check in, she barely looked at me, spoke quite rude and didn’t explain when is for example breakfast or anything. I had to remind about late check in which I booked in advance, because I stayed with my retired quite old mom. I paid for late check in.I decided to speak most places in English to avoid the same bad experience. The day of check out my mom couldn’t get into room as our room cards (both of them) were switched off and after this bad experience my retired mom who can’t speak English was afraid to come and ask for a new card and waited in lobby. When I arrived the brunette Russian speaking receptionist didn’t even apologised, were quite negative also. And when i say that this is not how things are supposed to be in service, she said : “what do I have to apologise for?!” And then said: “well, ok I apologise that YOUR card didn’t work” like it was my fault that it didn’t work. If this hotel has policy against Russian and Russian speaking people, you have to inform this in advance. Customers are paying money and have right to get equal service no matter what they nationality, race or sexual orientation is./ Очень недоброжелательное отношение к русскоговорящим. Не рекомендую…
I have just concluded a 12-day stay here. First of all, let me say that the reviews of this hotel were spot on, both the good and the bad. The good: the location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the ferry terminals, and a 10 minute walk from the Old Town. The negative: the hotel refuses to turn the air conditioning on, and the room is hot and stuffy. And the reception plays the exact game others mentioned. When I complained that my room was hot, the agent asked me if I had worked the climate control on the wall. I told him, “of course; there’s nothing happening; it’s dead.” Rather than be truthful with me, he acted surprised, and told me he’d have maintenance check it the next day. Of course, no one came from maintenance - it’s all a little game reception plays with the guests. They are fully aware that the A/C has been centrally turned off. The temperature was 27-30c for an entire week, and the room was hot. Reception did give me a small fan, but the room was still too warm. The hotel allows their guests to be uncomfortable, intentionally, in the interest of saving money. This hotel could be 5 star. But choosing to allow guests to suffer, is not a 5-star attitude. If you have no intention of using A/C, then let guests know this, and have reception inform guests of this policy, rather than act shocked when the guest informs you that the room is hot. The breakfast buffet is extensive and very good. Directly next to the hotel is the shopping center, and the ground floor has a RIMI supermarket, which has everything you could possibly need. The WIFI was excellent- no issues whatsoever. Overall, the hotel staff I found to be quite unfriendly; no one smiles, anywhere. I must, however, thank German at the front desk, who helped me tremendously with a matter. Overall, the hotel is good, but could be so much better, with proper staff training - why is everyone so palpably unhappy? - and by allowing guests to utilize the air conditioning.…
As a Finn I have passed by this Hotel many times. What a mistake. Got an upgrade. Standard room with the view to the sea. Big room. Clean. Check-in 3 minutes. I wanted to book another night but it was gone. I really can understand why. Recommend. I am coming back. Value for money.
Hotel has super good location, walking distance to city center with many attractions around! Shopping mall is neighbor with the hotel and convenient of there is anything needed. We had rooms with amazing sea view towards the port, really nice! Rooms are spacious, simple and plain with all functionality required for a family! Breakfast was also good with many options, all fresh and nice. Staff service minded and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of days and it was fine with kids! Good price level as well!
I was there on 09.01.2022 in hestia europa. The guy at the reception was very nice and extremely helpful. The room was good and clean. The problem was when we went to have dinner. Although it was empty and we were the only two people, the waitress was extremely rude to us, don’t know if it was because we were people of color or she is like that to everyone. We ordered two desserts as crepe is our favorite and decided to share the main course as we were full but was excited about the dessert. I made it clear that I want two desserts. She brought one to us and when I asked she came at me like I committed a crime with her finger yelling. She said I asked you many times how many you want and you said one, of course I know that I ordered two. So anyway I was scared after that to ask for anything so we just paid and left. She didn’t ask if we liked the food or anything at all. It felt like she was mad at us for going there.…
When booking Hestia Europa I did not understand it is also a music venue. It meant that we listened loud music ( could recognise the words) till late in our room. Not very nice when you are not able to sleep. Avoid if you are willing to get some sleep.
Because the weather was still quite summery, we changed our booking from the newly renovated Tallink City Hotel to this hotel. We wanted to have a balcony. The price for a suite with a nice big balcony with sea views was just 127 euros. It was a prepaid non-refundable rate but we made the booking just four days before our arrival. There are also superior rooms with a smaller balcony. The hotel is located nearer Terminal D than Terminal A, where we arrived onboard Viking XPRS. However, there is a new pedestrian bridge that made the walk much shorter than before. Although the hotel is not new, the rooms are still modern. The suites are very spacious. Some come with a sauna and some with a bathtub. Last time, we stayed on the top 6th floor and there was a sauna. Now we got the 3rd-floor suite with a bathtub. The shopping center Nautica is located next to the hotel. Here you can find a big grocery store, other shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. The breakfast had a good selection of food.…
I stayed at the Hestia Hotel Europa for two nights in July 2021 with my husband and two sons. We had two adjoining double rooms. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, though a bit tired-looking. The beds were comfortable. The rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the marina, but the sea view isn’t worth paying the extra money at the moment in my opinion, as there is a lot of construction going on around the marina. Breakfast was buffet style, of good quality, and offered a huge selection. There was even ice-cream! The hotel’s location is very good, just a few minutes’ walk to the old city and even closer to the stylish Rotermann Quarter with its many nice restaurants. The Nautica shopping centre is located right next to the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Every request we had was promptly met. The hotel is a good choice for a city trip to Tallinn.…
