Swissotel Tallinn is often described as a modern and stylish haven, where travelers enjoy the well-appointed rooms with scenic views and commend the hotel's cleanliness. The prime location is a hit among guests, who find it convenient for exploring nearby attractions.
While the hotel's amenities, such as the spacious rooms and breakfast options, are generally appreciated, some visitors suggest improvements in the executive lounge and spa. Opinions on value and service are mixed, with praise for affordable spa deals and criticism regarding the costly minibar and parking, alongside varied experiences with staff attentiveness.

Detailed Reviews
The Swissotel is well worth its five stars and is a modern, international hotel in central Tallinn. It is located next to the Stockmann departure store, a 20-minute walk from the harbour (or a 7 EUR taxi ride) and a 15-minute walk from the old city. I’ve stayed here a few times during the last twelve months and always been satisfied. During covid, the prices have been excellent, too.
Everyone I have encountered at the hotel have been friendly and they all speak excellent English.
The rooms are stylish and modern, and come with a very comfortable kingsize bed. There is a minibar, a safe, an armchair and a coffeetable as well as and a large desk. A complimentary 0.7 L bottle of water is provided on arrival, not replenished. Wifi is free, fast and reliable. The beautiful bathroom comes with a deep bathtub and a separate shower, however, make sure to request the bathtub in advance as not all rooms have one. There is plenty of space for toiletries etc. A bathrobe and slippers are provided, too.
The Horisont restaurant on the 30th floor offers views over the city as well as fine dining in the evenings (Tue-Sat). There is a casual à la carte dining room on the same floor, as well, open daily from noon until 11 pm. The food is tasty and nicely presented, and well worth the price.
The breakfast room is on the 11th floor and breakfast is served from 7 to 11. After my first visit to the hotel, I have decided to skip breakfast as I didn’t find it worth the price. I should probably give it a try once again to see if it has improved over time.
The spa&pool area, free of charge for hotel guests and open daily from 9 am to 9 pm, comes with a lovely, relaxing swimming pool with warm water, 32 degrees, as well as a steam room and a traditional Finnish sauna. During covid, a prereservation is required but there is usually space whenever you want to visit.
While the hotel’s location could be a bit more central, there’s a tram stop nearby and the tram will take you quickly to the airport or the heart of the city. A taxi ride to the airport takes less than 10 min and costs approx. 9 EUR.
The Swissotel has become my favourite hotel in Tallinn, and I look forward to my next visit.

+1
I travelled to this hotel while on a 3 day business conference. The reception staff all spoke English and were very accommodating and friendly.
I had a room on the 14th floor to myself with great views, one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept on and an amazing bathroom. I had the luxury of having both a soak tub and a walk in shower (my friend who asked for a room on the highest floor possible didn't have a tub and was quite jealous).
We spent most of our time in the conference/meeting halls, both on the highest floor as well as one on a lower floor. Both times there were snacks but not sure if it was catered by the hotel or an exterior service but delicious none the less.
We had breakfast, lunches, and one dinner here and they were all great. Lots of selection (even vegan, soy-free, vegetarian, etc).
One night I had enough time to go down to the pool area and it was definitely worth it to relax in the gorgeously decorated pool area as well.
The hotel is downtown and a minute away from a street car stop so you can get around the city easily and the airport as well.
I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel with amazing views from our room. 20 minute walk from the old town that felt safe at night. Lovely temperature swimming pool and a fantastic hotel gym with barbell/dumbbells up to 20kg and loads of weights/cardio machines. Great breakfast selection with everything you could imagine including freshly made omelettes and waffles as well as some really interacting Estonian dishes to try. Non dairy milks and yoghurts too! 2 min walk from tram stop which was 20 mins from the airport and only €1.50 if you download the app.

I spent one night at Swissôtel Tallinn in early August (my daughter and her partner lived in next room).
Everything went extremely smoothly and well during my visit.
Especially the staff – at the front desk and in the restaurant (breakfast) – took very good care of guests needs.
In my opinion, the hotel pays special attention to the safety of its guests during these exceptional times.
Breakfast was well arranged as the chef was serving warm food and preparing omelettes according to wishes. Fruits, vegetables, mueslis, breads, croissants etc. were served in the buffet but were pre-packed or covered to prevent them from contaminating.
I can honestly recomment this hotel to everybody who wants to spend time in Tallinn and wishes to feel safe during the stay. And of course, enjoy spacious and comfortable rooms with great views.

First of all I must say that this is a great hotel!
However we did have quite some issues and quirks (not getting right room, need of changing room, room not setup for 2 persons, missed transfer plus wrong amount on settlement bill etc.), but still we did enjoy our stay quite much and we're very picky. Frontend staff was very friendly, but some of them had issues understanding what we were trying to say (need proficiency in English), there was one woman in reception who was great (longer hair and glasses). She did everything in her power to rectify mistakes of others and this was really appreciated.
As we had an executive room, on 29th floor, we had access to the executive lounge. This featured private area, including a conference room. We spent most of our free time here as there was afternoon tea, from 1.130PM, with some bakeries, alcoholic drinks including limited spirits from 5PM and enhanced with hot snacks and salad from 6PM, all without any charge. Executive lounge staff was very very pleasant and constantly on their feet cleaning and refilling the "buffet".
We hadn't ordered any breakfast included in our room as we don't really eat breakfast. So all days we had coffee in the cafeteria in the lobby, The lady here was very nice, polite and always smiling.
Overall we did appreciate our stay, and we will stay again for sure, as location is one of the best in Tallinn whether it's for shopping or sightseeing,
There was also a very friendly bell boy, wearing the traditional outfit for bell boys from Swissotel with pride (they have a video of this of this on the hotel tv channel) and always smiling as shown in the video, maybe he has seen it?) :) Unfortunately he wasn't around that much to help out, not when arriving nor when leaving, so no help with the luggage there.
A big shoutout to Oksana in Executive lounge, longer haired woman in Reception and the brown haired lady in the lobby café. Without them we would probably have rated this property at 3 stars, max.

I’ve visited Swissotel Tallinn many times in decade and now I have to write a review about the hotels current state. No 5 star worthy in 2022.
Good things:
Nice high building with good harbour views also nice roomy standard room with quality bathroom. Gym is well equipped, tvs, radio, clean, nice views, drinking water automat. Breakfast was good/average.
Bad things:
Rooms air condition was very loud and seemed not to work properly, it was quite hot, over 23c at lowest.
Minibar was empty only 2 waterbottles in it, also fridge was not getting enough cold. TV was good size maybe in 2010 but in 2022 it is just very small (32”) ,slow and laggy, channels disconnect sometimes, no bluetooth for own music etc.
Purovel Spa: This is just incredibly careless that Sauna stove STILL had maybe 10 year old stones in it?! (stones cost 10 euro to change, must done yearly) Ugly looking rusty and cracked stones and overall the sauna looked like it must be renovated! Benches were worn and also burnt close to the stove. You also cant throw water by yourself. Come on, renovate the sauna and put there aroma buckets so you can throw water as you like that is a true Spa experience. Same with steam sauna, OMG it smelled only sweat odor in there!! It should be refreshing euqalyptus steam for example.
The Horisont skybar used to have superb drinks but now I ordered a beer and a cocktail. Beer was warm and cocktail had wrong propotions. 14e is very expensive for poorly made drink that had half a glass filled with ice. Also there used to be small salty snacks served complimentary, not anymore. Also 20e burger from the bar menu had a beef that tasted like it was from the freezer, poor quality meat. Not good at all.
Also when checking out there was an 50e room overcharging by hotel I noticed which will take 2 weeks to get transfered back.
Overall just not the hotel experience it used to be and SHOULD be. Very floppy and careless here and there. No passion to be sensed, nothing special. I hope Swissotel will take this review seriously and fix things.

3 people manning front desk only one checking everyone in. Assigned a standard room and asked for something better she then tried to sell me the Exec Floor (not what I wanted) So my upgrade was to a room the same as the original - just with a bath - all for another €30.00/night.
The hotel is trying to show its green credentials with lots of paper notices in the room telling me that it is almost a paperless hotel. trying to order Room Service is a nightmare with QR codes and online menus that you download to the phone. Just put it on the in room entertainment system. When you eventually download the menu there's no info on how to order. Ended up calling reception (no other option on the in room phone) and transferred to someone who told me he was extremely busy and "food would be at least 45mins", When I challen ged the 45mins he just laughed.
If this REALLY is a five star hotel, it certainly doesn't behave like one. There MUST be somewhere better to stay.

Dear Matthew, Thank you for your constructive feedback! We are happy to see that you still rated 3 stars of your stay and we are thankful for your feedback regarding your check-in. We have taken the time to see what went wrong and made improvements to prevent future occurrence. In regards of the In-room signs and room-service, we are just about to launch new solution that would give automatic room-service options and will also be completely paperless. We are grateful you brought these matters to our attention and we certainly hope to welcome you in Swissotel Tallinn again! Kind regards, Gilles Felgen Swissotel Tallinn General Manager

How about to celebrate New Year with a spectacular view over Tallinn and fireworks all around in the city? When yes the Swissotel is the place to be! Really enjoyed our time in there. Already during the booking process was staff very helpful and did everything that we could get the room with the right view. Hotel room was very comfy, with the wide bed and nice bathroom. Room service was quick enough.
Breakfast was good, I always appreciate the hotels where you can get omelette made specially for you :) Although, the vegan choice was not very big and I hope this is something Swissotel could think to improve.
All together was it very great stay and we will remember 2020 arriving with very positive emotions!

The hotel is great - lovely modern and spacious rooms with excellent staff.
Location is also excellent - it’s about a 10 minute walk into the old town centre.
However, I was disappointed that the swimming pool was not included in my room rate. This is not made clear when booking and I found it odd for a 5* hotel to charge €10 for access to a small pool and sauna.

A very nice hotel in the heart of Tallin. Amazing view from the room. Very comfortable bed. Spacious and light rooms. Professional and friendly staff. Many thanks for great service to Elizabeth and Julia at reception and Alexandra on the breakfast. Very beautiful SPA zone. However, I would improve the quality of slippers and add more drinking water to the room. Also while having a shower, water spills on the bathroom floor.
