Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in this hotel in the summer of 2003. We selected it because it was cheap, but in hindsight we shouldn't have been so miserly. I would not go back there again and I would only recommend it reservedly to anyone who is travelling on a shoe-string budget and with a devil-may-care attitude.

It is located about 30 to 40 minutes walk away from the historic old town so it is not very central. It is a short walk to the tram stop however, and trams are regular. The area around the hotel is very run down and looks like a dangerous neighbourhood by other city standards. We saw no actual evidence to indicate that this was the case, but we were always slightly anxious while walking in the neighbourhood late in the evening.

The hotel itself is a decrepit, grey, soviet style building that looks more like an office block from the outside. Inside, the foyer furnishings are very plain and the musty hallways have damp, tattered carpets and peeling wall-paint. The seventies style bedrooms are sparsely furnished and like another reviewer I was concerned about security.

The breakfast is buffet style and you are free to take as much as you please, but the options are limited and I can only describe the taste of most items as bland.

Tallinn is a beautiful city and well worth a visit but to maximise your experience avoid this hotel.

I couldn't find any information about this hotel and the other hotels in Tallinn were either too expensive or full. The hotel looked like a Soviet prison. The reception was located on the 3rd floor and you had to go up a creaky dark elevator to get there. Our room was down a dark corridor. The carpet was ripped everywhere. We didn't want to stay there, but it was getting late. The door to our room had a flimsy lock, so we slept with our suitcase in front of the door so noone would break in. In the morning we checked out without using the bathroom. Don't stay in this hotel!!
