This hotel offers a wonderful experience! The rooms are immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. The lighting is exceptional, the shower is strong and hot. Breakfast was included for the price--with plenty of choices including fresh fruit and vegetables. Location in the walls of the Old Town make it particularly memorable. Close to famous churches and town square. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Tallinn! -Laurel

Arrived to Tallinn by bus, got very clear instructions from one of the staff on how to get there by tram. It was easy. Stayed only one night but would definitely stay here again. Warm room, heated floor in the bathroom, comfortable bed, beautifully designed hotel and amazing breakfast 👌🙌❤️ And you are right in the heart of the city! Used the St.Olaf church as my navigation point as it is right outside the hotel.

Unfortunately I was the one who didn’t read reviews before booking this hotel for my senior parents. It was awful experience for them. First of all - before making reservation I called their services several time and asked is the room that I am booking is not in first floor. They said - of course it will be 3th floor. Then I especially asked to pay before arrival, so my parents don’t need to worry about it. I made payment, but on reception the first question was - You will Pay cash or card… The room. OMG when parents called me by video call I was shocked - room was so tiny, and bathroom as well. My parents had barely place to move around. Instead of one double bed they got 2 single. Window - you don’t really have window, because you can’t even open it since beds are not allowing to get to it. Room was on first floor, very load all night. Please do not reserve this hotel. Price and communication, comfort doesn’t match at all.

Dear 193ligak We are sorry to hear about the disappointing experience your parents had at the hotel. It seems there was a significant disconnect between the information provided during the booking process and the actual room and service they received. Such experiences can be frustrating and stressful for travelers. Your review serves as a valuable warning to others considering this hotel, and I appreciate you sharing your feedback. I hope your parents' next travel experience will be more enjoyable, and that they can avoid any similar issues. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.Agnese Deicmane Quality specialist

We booked this hotel for one night. The room was the smallest I have ever been in. Tiny, cramped, hardly any room to pass down the side of the bed. You had to lean over and crawl along. Wifi was non existent in the room, and only worked in the reception area. The bathroom was so tiny that having a shower meant the curtain wrapped itself around you and the entire space was drenched with water. I would not stay here again.

I made a confirmed reservation with Booking.com, later Rija Old Town Hotel, sent a message saying they had to cancel our booking, stating an error on their reservation system, that there were NO ROOMS AVAILABLE, they said they had rebooked us into their sister hotel that we discovered was NOT in or near to the Old Town of Tallinn, don’t fall for this ruse! When I called the hotel from the airport on our arrival they couldn’t care less about the cancellation, sounds like it happens frequently! As a result we stayed at the wonderfully historic & atmospheric St Olavs Hotel in the absolute centre of the Old Town. Note: RIJA Old Town Hotel is not as well located & is on the extreme perimeter of the Old town with traffic noise complaints from other guest reviews Overall we had a far better experience due to their “ error”

Excellent location in the Old Town. Lovely building, liked the mix of old and new. Easy to get to from the airport (The public transport system in Tallinn is excellent, really no need for a taxi even with 2 large suitcases. Tram 4, then tram 2!) Room was very small and I’d paid for the larger room so goodness knows how small the 2 smaller options are. Beds were comfortable. No air con but did supply a small fan. Had to sleep with the windows closed as we overlooked a busy main road. No noise once they were shut, although it did get hot. Really could do with air con. Bathroom is small but clean. As others have mentioned, water gets everywhere after a shower. No extractor fan, or at least I couldn’t work it out. Minibar prices reasonable, comparable to restaurant prices. Kettle and tea available but the only coffee in the room was premixed 3in1. I don’t have milk so this was a problem. Plentiful breakfast and good choice. Not sure every British/US palate would appreciate all the things on offer but we enjoyed trying new things. Coffee at breakfast was excellent but machine slow so a bit of a queue for that. Reasonable hotel in good location so would return.

We booked on the day with our flexible itinerary and got a ground floor twin room (facing the old city) with breakfast for 53 euros, even with the hotel full. It was superbly clean and tidy and the breakfast had lots of hot and cold choices. It felt like a four star hotel with lots of historic chatacter and proximity to the main sites. We walked to the airport in 45 minutes. Recommend the cosy Koht bar for a drink and the superb restaurant Rataskaevu 16 for dinner. I had Elk for 22 euros!

Kind of just okay. Relatively clean and nice but it was absolutely meltingly hot in the room and i couldn't open the windows. It was so loud all through the night. Didn't make it to breakfast. The shower curtain would stick to you when you took a shower which was a bit awkward. Decent price for just an okay hotel.

Give all the credits to Rija Old Town hotel! Ideal for a short stay. Location is perfect. Nice venue of hotel mixing the old original details with new renovation. Room was small (it's OK if you come to hotel just to sleep), well equipped. Staff is helpful and polite. We could enjoy the fantastic view of st. Olaf church, old city wall and the random shaped red roofs over the window of our room. It can be more noisy in the rooms where are located to street side. We were happy with breakfast buffet - good choice for any taste and quality products. Few parking places are available in the town not far away from hotel. It was not a problem for us. One thing we could not understand - how to swich on the ventilation in shower/wc-room :) Good rate of price and quality!
