Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was very pleased with the Dzingel hotel. The staff were all very welcoming, catered to my requests with ease and I was immediately asked if I wanted a late checkout - seeing as I’d checked-in so late at night. These things are often permitted, but it’s nice to be asked. I ended up staying an extra two days. Rooms were basic but clean.

Bus (#5) stops directly outside and is basically the only route you’ll need as it goes all the way through town up towards the docks.

The breakfast has a good selection and there are ground coffee machines, sachets of hot chocolate and the famous compot/juices available. The food has a few hot items of sausages/bacon etc. and there’s the salami and cold cheeses also.

Overall, for what I paid for the cheapest room - It’s a bargain. I would definitely stay again.

Only one thing to bear in mind; No AC if it’s hot out!

Room Tip: Top floors may help to mute the train horns at around 7am! Good view over the pine forest up top.

Very basic hotel. The floor we stayed on smelt like dogs (a lot of dogs). Needs some updating. It was hot when we stayed and had to keep windows shut at night as road noise is terrible (no aircon). Checking in took ages. Breakfast like most Estonian hotels was chaos but a good choice. It was expensive for what it is, i have stayed in better and cheaper in old town.

I hadn't originally booked to stay at this hotel but due to some problem with Hotel Susi's booking system they booked me into this hotel. It is about 3 kilometres from the old town but the number 5 bus runs regularly about every 20 minutes directly there and bus tickets are available from the hotel reception for about 0.65 Euros. The hotel is a typical ex soviet building rather square and non descript but it is an area with lots of trees and much quieter than some of the budget hotels in the old town which seem to attract the stag party fraternity etc . The staff were really helpful, the receptionists all speak English to some degree. The rooms fairly are basic but there's an en suite in them and they are clean and tidy. Breakfast was included there is quite a choice although it is European in style with cheese and ham etc. The pastries and fresh baked cheesecake were delicious although the thought of eating pickled herring and beetroot for breakfast, which were also on offer, might be too much for most people! I paid £62 for 3 nights and I would certainly book there again if I return to Tallinn.

Open 24/7 wich is good if you need quick place to stay. Reception is polite. The hotel outlook is good and clean. The rooms are nice and clean. Beds are comfrtobale. Sheets are nice clean. There is TV in the room. The area looks quiet, I mean not a lot of traffic.

I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights at Hotell Dzingel. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for! Well, with this hotel you get more! I paid less than £16gbp per night for B&B. My room was very good. Light & clean with en-suite toilet & shower. Satellite tv with almost 100 channels. Free use of hotel sauna. Breakfast was fantastic. Buffet style with a wide ranging choice of both hot & cold. Masses of cereals & unlimited hot & cold drinks.
I would most definitely recommend this hotel. Only a 20minute bus journey to Tallinn Old Town & Ferry port.

We expected much more of this place. Expensive rooms, poor interior, first room was so messy, we have to change it. During the night some drunk people was keep coming and going. Wi-fi was just off in our room. Staff seems like there is no need for them to take care of their guests. Felt like a very cheap hostel and not in terms of prices, but in terms of total lack of care. After all that, we didn't even bother to try food at this establishment, cause you never know what can happen after all this previous stuff. Sorry to say. Thanks, but no thanks. Never again.

First of all - stains. Everywhere. There was an old poo stain on my friends bed, vomit stains on the floor of my room and a huge blood stain under a sofa. Also, in almost every room (and I've been in a few) there was this awful stench that even made it hard to sleep. Furthermore, when you get uncooked potatoes for dinner it sure does not put a smile on your face.

Truthfully, the stay was bearable for one night, but not a second more. However, it sure was an experience.

A group of thirty football supporters of Glentoran FC N. Ireland stayed here in the Dzingel for 5 days in July 04. Rooms clean and functional and cleaned by maids every day. Small bar area which opens until the early hours of the morning. Quite a large restaurant area selling a wide range of foods to tempt most people. There is a small computer facility for anyone wishing to contact home or work quite reasonably priced. The only minor problem with the hotel is that it is approx 5 - 10 minutes from the city centre and the bus service is ok but we preferred to use a taxi for travelling to the centre. Ask at reception for them to book a taxi for you as they are much cheaper than the taxis you find on the taxi ranks. Always ask for a price for your named destination before boarding the taxi.

Horrible hotel we have ever been. Rooms were hot, without any Air Conditioning, no possible to breathe, no Air Conditioning in wc. It was impossible to sleep. We went to the receptionist at night to ask for a portable air conditioneer, but guy at the reception answered, that he couldn't help us. After all, we managed to sleep after 4.00 a.m. on the floor at the open door of the room. Our friends didn't sleep all night. The whole next day was ruined, because of night and total exhaustion.
Breakfast offer wasn't bad, but restaurant was hot, without fresh air. All the people were sweating. We wanted to get out as fast as we can.
Isn't fresh air in room an elementary requirement?

Dzingel is the worst hotel ever. Better to stay in hostel.
Once I arrived, the staff is rude, hotel full of drunks. The room smells very bad, bathroom and all room is super dirty. The elevator is so small. The bed is so old. everything was so dirty that i decided to sleep in my car, although i paid. at least parking was free. Wifi also didnt work.
