Tallink Express Hotel is comfortably located in the city center just a 5 minute walk from the Old Town. If you are looking for a modern place to stay, but don't want to pay hundreds of euros, than our hotel is just the place for you. Our hotel was freshly renovated in 2014 and is a great sample of youthful Scandinavian style.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked my stay at Tallink Express Hotel in Tallinn through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, I found the staff to be quite rude, displaying a lack of care. My booking was initially quoted at £50 for bed and breakfast with access to the spa. However, upon arrival, I was charged €63.20 and asked for an additional fee for spa access. When I inquired about a room upgrade, the young lady at check-in was also very discourteous. The rooms are dirty and very basic, cigarette burns on the carpet along with mould in the shower cubicle. Contacted Hotels.com (Edward) asked about the increase apologies given they made a mistake! Pleased I only booked for 1 night. Look out for additional charges (spa etc) wouldn’t recommend look at others in the area. Should be renamed “Tallink Express Hostel” more appropriate. It’s a nil point from 🇬🇧

I was meant to stay overnight on a Tallink ship but they canceled it and gave me a night in the Tallink in Express Hotel instead. The hotel is perfectly good, but fairly basic, and the amenities are average at best. For example, the bathroom was poorly designed and the shower door was a bit faulty. Fortunately, the breakfast was excellent, especially the waffles with ice cream!

Uncleaned rooms. Not cleaned properly. 20years old furnitures. Staff is behaving badly (russians). Breakfast is not good. Budget hotel which is not the best budget hotel in the area. Cannot recommend staying in this hotel if possible to avoid. Only for one night maximum.

A budget hotel with no amenities. Good enough for a night stop if you need to catch the ferry in the morning (it's 100 meters from the ferry terminal), but otherwise unimpressive. Parking costs €20 a night. No restaurant in the hotel.

Sadly stayed at this hotel for a business trip. Totally unsuitable for any stay lasting longer than 24 hours and using it as a transit hotel for the ferries. It is dirty , noisy and unwelcoming. Attached by a link door to the far better Tallink Spa and Conference Hotel. Full of drunk Fins and noisy transit guests , the corridors are noisy with slamming doors and party goers. The rooms are not cleaned daily and the rooms are dirty.. Staff are surly and unhelpful.

Self check in automat was really easy to use and fast. Room are very basic and seems clean except the bathroom, walls were moldy and the soap was empty. Im not sure if they change sheets between every quest because there was some stain in the pillow. There is carpet in the rooms floor which was dirty so maybe you should take some indoor shoes with you. No aircondition, so its maybe too hot in the summer, in the winter temperature was ok. Location is good , its next to sadamarket etc , short walk to malls and old town.

Ok, it was probably the hottest week of the year especially for Estonia, but regardless, please AVOID any room facing the road. There is no aircon in the rooms so we had to keep the window open, and said road is basically the only one taking directly to the ships, therefore there is a CONSTANT coming and going of trucks, with the subconsequent noise. On top of that, there is no toiletries in the rooms (apart from a wall soap dispenser) and no coffee/tea making faicilities. Breakfast is not always included, and when it is, quality is incredibly poor even if it looks like a nice buffet. All that for not less than 80/90€ per room which it seems like a robbery. Also the staff seems to be 100% not motivated at all, bored and lazy (not necessarily rude, just so so not motivated). Luckily we stayed only one night.

We stayed at Tallink Spa hotel and had a good experience there. Moved here for the last night to get a lower price because leaving very early before breakfast. Hot room with no AC. Had to sleep with the windov open. TV didn´t work. The shower hose was not possible to hang up. Good counter in the bathroom with space for things. Liked the beds. Had to take the duvet away because of the July heat. Very basic hotel. Reception was closed so we used Tallink Spa:s reception with nice, helpful staff. Beer taps in the reception did not work.

This hotel is well positioned for most of the attractions Tallinn has to offer. For most of the day the reception area of the hotel is deserted and any issues need to be directed next door. The rooms are clean and modern although a bit basic. The one issue we had involved a problem with the booking that was handled by a member of staff who’s customer service skills were more suited to the Soviet era than the modern day.
