Citybox is not like other hotels. You handle booking, payment, check-in and check-out yourself, and we offer low prices and high quality. Citybox has no regular reception desk, but we always have a Citybox host present at the hotel, so we are available 24 hours a day. The Citybox Tallinn has 272 rooms, including standard single and double rooms, family rooms with bunk beds and Suites. The hotel rooms have a Scandinavian and contemporary style, appealing to a large audience. The main features of the rooms are furniture with a blond wood finish, woolen textiles and pops of color mainly in the flooring and in selected details. Most importantly, the rooms are functional, both in terms of size and interior. Bolon flooring is one of the main features in the hotel rooms, a floor covering of woven vinyl that gives a vibrant textile feeling and adds pattern and color to the room. It is also recommended by NAAF (Norway’s Asthma and Allergy Association) and NHF (Norway’s Handicap federation). We know that one of the things our guests appreciate is a modern and tasteful bathroom with good lighting and enough space for toiletries. All the Citybox bathrooms have tiled floors and walls, spacious showers with glass walls and wall-mounted WC. Citybox has common areas with check-in zone, laundromat, sitting lounge, shared kitchen and TV lounges. We offer conference rooms that contains all the modern equipment needed. In line with our concept, we have taken away all unnecessary costs in order to offer conference rooms at a low price.

This hotel is brand new. With excellent location in the Porto Franco area. Only minutes away from the City Center and old Town. You check in by yourself. But assistance is close by if needed. Large EuroPark area just two minutes away.

On my first visit a year ago, I was very impressed with Citybox. On this holiday, we also checked out the Oru Hub, and enjoyed swimming at the Kalev Spa. I did not sleep much in either one. Already the first night at the Citybox, I slept so well. I think it is the small but utterly important things that give you a chance to sleep well; great beds&bedding, comfy pillows, good unintrusive aircon, excellent blindout curtains and soundproofing. This time, I travelled with my kids, and we had booked a family room. There was a double bed and a bunk bed. Room was spacious. Even the bunk bed had very thick, good mattresses, and the same dimmable wonderful reading lights. There was also a worktable and a chair, and a long bench in front of the windows. Our solution to the lack of storage is to use packing cubes. When each person has his or hers own packing cube, it’s easy to find your own things. Next time I’ll also pack my cosmetics in bag with a hook, so I can hang it in the bathroom. I do wish there were more hooks in the bathroom. The showers are great, and have good water pressure. I understand the water saving measures many hotels seem to have adopted, but it only means you will need a longer shower. In Citybox the shower is perfect. The mirror and the light in the bathroom are both very good. The hairdryer has temperature options. It was great to come to Citybox after three nights elsewhere, and be able to wash our clothes. The machine was very easy to use, had many programs, and left the clothes so dry, they dried fast. The program lasted 37 minutes. For 5 euros we had nearly all our clothes cleaned, and I did not initially have to pack so much. I get tired of eating the same breakfast buffet food every morning. This is why I prefer to choose where I eat. It was enjoyable to walk the 4 minutes to Levier, and get cinnamon buns, almond croissants, and their excellent chiapudding for breakfast, which we enjoyed in the Citybox communal kitchen area. One morning we had the buffet at the Metropol Spa hotel, which was cheap (13e) but crowded, and pretty basic. Hilton (19e) had much better quality of food, very sweet staff, and a beautiful space at the Able Butcher-restaurant. The Swiss has the best breakfast, but 28e/adult for breakfast is rather expensive. We tried many places but did not find a place that would have beaten Levier for breakfast, lunch and even dinner:) Their quality is consistent, meals and service excellent. Even the child meals were very tasty. I never get tired of their poke bowl. There is also a large Rimi supermarket in the Nautica complex nearby. I picked up some fruits and juices from there, or just used the vending machines in the kitchen. Third time in Citybox, and I’m still impressed. The hotel is clearly very well managed, staff is friendly and competent, rooms are sparkling clean, and everything works. Even if I love trying out new places, Citybox is just so wonderful, that I’m already planning and looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel is brand new and has a very good price. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Chekin and everything is DIY but there's always someone to help. It's a bit outside of the old town but everything's withing walking distance in Tallinn anyway. The only thing I didn't quite like was the fact that I booked a "Room with view" and I haven't had a view at all but only saw a big construction site. I'd stay there again anyway and would really recommend this hotel!

This is not really a hotel. Nor does it say it is - it’s Citybox, and nowhere will you find its star rating. So what is Citybox? In a nutshell, a hostel along the lines of Meininger, A&O, Generator, Easyhotel and a couple of stars below economy 3* hotel chains such as B&B and Ibis Budget. After a Citybox experience decoration and service levels at an Ibis must feel palatial. One thing no one can take away from Citybox are the vast public spaces, including table tennis. The hostel also serves as a low-cost long-term student residence. 1. Due to Covid-19 crisis the hotel lets rooms for long-term stays at approximately 1-3 of the daily rate, largely to non-EU migrant workers, particularly from the Ukraine, some of whom may or may not be working on the building site opposite the hotel. I was asked whether I drink alcohol by one such Ukrainian man who seemed to have been feeling lonely (I was not the only one to receive the offer for Ukrainian moonshine). The available kitchen, laundry and TVs always-on in public spaces give this hotel a dorm-like feel. 2. Additionally, the hotel also lets some of its rooms on a monthly basis as...offices. 3. Room decor is the kind where natural materials are largely absent in favor of hard-wearing synthetics. The carpet is wafer-thin plastic covering a bare concrete floor. Since the structure is concrete in winter it feels cold and there is no way to adjust room temperature (dials are present in the rooms but in fact the hotel controls temperature centrally). 4. There are no telephones or TVs in the rooms. 5. The hotel location is perfect for the Tallinn port but far from city centre, old town, grocery stores and restaurants, making delivery the only option. The port seems to be a desolate place since ferries to Helsinki must be traveling almost empty. 6. No breakfast is provided as the restaurant is still under construction and my guess is it will not open until Covid-19 is over. Overall I would not recommend the hotel at present prices - same cost would afford you a 4* hotel (3* up from this one) in the Tallinn Old Town, with breakfast included, a variety of shops and restaurants on your doorstep, and a full-service reception (instead of a row of check-in machines). Unless you are a student or a migrant worker on a budget Citybox probably will feel underwhelming.

Loved my stay there after long business trip in Finland, relaxing and clean. We had great views to the port (very short walk from the ship). The room is spacious, you will have all necessary in your room pluss kitchen fascilities ond common areas to socialize. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in couple of minutes distance, easy to travel to airport by tram or walk to the Old Town.
