I had booked 3 nights here, but due to flight/airline issues I didn't actually get there - so this review is for the customer service of the reception/general manager only. I was emailing the hotel to let them know first of the delays, and then the eventual cancellation, the reception/general manager were really quick to respond, friendly and empathetic. Their customer service and communication was excellent, they really went above and beyond what they needed to do. The kindness is very much appreciated, and you are definitely top of my list if I ever (hopefully!) Do make it to Tallinn in future!
Spent three nights in October at the Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel. Room was nice but a bit old. Placed close to center of Old Town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Visiting Tallinn is a walk through history and Danish relations.
Nice little hotel. Excellent value for money, considering its location in the old town. Rooms are small, but adequate and very clean. The only problem with the room I had was the bathroom sink placement which, given the shelf directly above, was virtually impossible to wash one's face or clean one's teeth over. Wi-Fi was adequate. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was reasonable, and dinner in the adjoining restaurant was also quite good. I would stay again - definitely if there are rooms with more functional bathroom sinks.
Got to the hotel at midday to be told check in wasn't till 3 which is fair enough so dropped bags off and went for a walk around town. Problem is we didn't get into our room till 6. Apparently they had only 1 cleaner on. The twin room we had was very big (it had a sofa bed and rocking chair) and clean. Breakfast like all Estonian hotels i have stayed in wasn't great, but 16 years of visiting Estonia I've got used to it. Excellent location though.
Just back from having spent 3 nights at this hotel and found the staff to be very helpful. The location was excellent in the heart of the old city. The rooms were clean and tidy with good house keeping. Although fans were in our room it would have been better with aircon. The breakfast was good choice and plentiful. Good value for money.
I like the central location, close to everything in the old town. Friendly and accommodating staff, good breakfast, quiet and peaceful location without disturbing traffic. What is missing on hot days and nights is air conditioning.
I stayed 2 nights with my father in room 404. The room is what you can expect for the sum. There was a quite noisy ventilation system just outside our Window, but as it emitted its humming in a ever constant frequency it did not really bother us. The breakfast day 1 was excellent. A good mixture of different things and fresh fruit. Nice interior and spacey. When we were to ask the reception guy to book us a taxi on our departure and ask about check-out (we did this at 09:30 approx. the 20/8 2022, it was a bald-headed guy in the lobby) he was very un-helping and we basically had to drag the answers from him... quite unnecessary to put a guy like that in a hotel reception... So far everything was quite OK and we were more than happy with our stay at Meriton... but... On our departure day we had to leave the hotel early to catch our flight (around 07:00). The hotel breakfast opened at 07:00, so we figured we could grab a few croissants to eat in the taxi. When we got to the breakfast on the morning of 21/8, 07:00, there was already a couple eating. I took 3 croissants and was headed for the check-out desk (where my father was checking us out to save time, while i grabbed the breakfast). I was then suddenly screemed at (by the corpulent kitchen Lady in short hair) in Estonian. Out of the little i understood, I got that she did not allow me t leave with the croisssants i had in hand (Note that these are quite small croissants, small enough to fit 3 in 1 average sized man's palm). I said that i had stayed in the hotel and were leaving for the airport early (in english), but she just fiercely kept shouting at me in estonian (which i do not understand a word of), and kept waving her hand in an aggresive fashion. I was afraid that she was about to blow or have a heart attack or something so I went back to the breakfast bread basket, intimitaley followed by the Lady. I asked if I was really supposed to put back the croissants in the basket (because of covid) but she insisted i did. I did no such thing however, and instead put them on a nearby small plate of course, as anything else would be completely stupid, insane, ignorant, potentially harmful and just careless. All in all, I do feel sorry for the hotel.. it has so good potential but having this kind of person in the kitchen is that one thing that will never get them above a 3.5 rating, or atleast really drag the hotel down in its attempt of progressing. I also do feel sad for the hotel guests. Having such a person in the kitchen who disregards basic hygiene is just unhealthy... you can only imagine what other things happens then behind the kitchen doors... i really do hope she threw my croissants away... but probably not. Best regards, Residents of room 404 (2022-08-19 - 2022-08-21)…
Perfect location into the old city town, few stesso from all Tallin sightseeings. Room so small, u almost cant even move around. Also bathroom so so small and without room that can help with bad smell or shower humidity
Good value for money, however room was tiny (double). Great location only a few minutes from centre of city, but a little dated. Breakfast was a little limited and fairly basic in comparison to other hotels in Tallin.
very well located, nice access and good service. I will recommend it, not very luxury but clean and with all needs covered. nice revery well located, nice access and good service.
