We stayed here on a group tour with Exodus for two nights. The staff are lovely, really friendly. Breakfast great and the best coffee I had on our trip.
The rooms are basic but comfortable. The bathrooms have powerful showers.
I would have given it a higher rating but unfortunately it has no air conditioning in the rooms which made our sleep uncomfortable and at times unbearable as the rooms have huge windows with thin curtains and they retain the heat. As soon as we were out of the shower we were already sweating. Not a hotel for me in warm weather.

Hotel had good features such as parking, breakfast, beds.
But these were negated by heat in the room (no cooling, so sleeping sweaty), poor bathroom (was flooded after showering and only warm water came from the tap), but the worst was the crappy WiFi. Lost power and was extremely slow.

We had our couple vacation in Rakvere. The hotel seemed to be very well located. And it really was.
We had wonderful room with sauna. But: no bathrobes, no refrigerator, not enough plugs. This hotel unfortunately is

not suitable for people with disabilties. The quality of TV picture was not ok and most of the channels were in russian. No new shampoo after used the previous one. And there was wierd smell in the coridor.
The staff was really friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was ok.
Should i want to go there again? Still probalby yes. As the room was nice and big. We had still good time there.

Good stuff:
Clean, well located, quiet, good breakfast, sauna in a room.

Not so good stuff:
There were several power outages, the reception was already closed, they could not care less. "Just wait and see", it might take an hour or an day, they said. There were no flashlights in a hotel! (Should be, it it also a security thing.) They did not even ask how the time in the dark went. : (

It was impossible to sleep on the sofa bed - pieces with wheels did not stay in place.

This was my first trip to Estonia, and thus Rakvere, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I chose the hotel that I found the most information about on the Internet, the Hotel Wesenbergh. The first thing I noticed was the price. My three-night stay cost me about £80. That's less than a Travel Inn style hotel in London for one night. I e-mailed the reception telling them my arrival time may be variable, and they said it was fine, and just to turn up when I wanted. Check in was a simple filling out of a short form, and I was given my key (a physical key, not a card). Even though I opted for a single room (the cheapest available), my room came with two single beds. The room itself was very clean, and looked very nice with the laminate wood flooring. The window was quite large, and whilst it wasn't the most amazing view possible, it was certainly not bad.

The shower area was good, with an open-plan waterproof floor. This meant that one felt slightly disconcerted when the entire floor filled with water whilst taking a shower, but it was completely normal. The TV in the room was of a good size, and provided Estonian, Russian and English channels for the mostpart, including EuroSport UK (useful since the Winter Olympics were on), and Cartoon Network (brought out the kid in me!). I found the reception staff always very friendly, and the vast majority spoke very good English. They all seemed to remember my name, too (I wouldn't even have to tell them who I was when paying the bill, etc.), which made it a very personal service. At one point my room telephone decided to stop working, but when I went down to reception to tell them about it, the receptionist provided me with a mobile phone to use to make my call. Breakfast was a fairly low-key affair. It was a rather typical European breakfast, with toast, eggs, bacon, cereal, juices, etc. - you don't really need more than that.

The hotel is also very close to Rakvere centre itself. The center has a few shopping malls, numerous banks, a large bus station (bus travel is cheap there), a chocolate shop (!), and other essentials. There are a few cafés in the area surrounding the hotel, so just have a look and see what you can find. The majority of people (especially in shops) speak English with little or no problem, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone to speak English to, even if you just ask them to translate for you. All in all, I can't fault the hotel, nor the area. I can't think of anything that was wrong, except for the rather humourous conversation I had with the cleaner (she spoke just Estonian, I spoke just English, so you can imagine), but a makeshift charades game sorted that out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rakvere, and certainly for the price it's a very amazing hotel indeed.

booked this hotel because the rooms look great on the photos. When we arrived we saw some people with dogs in the car park then we when inside there was dogs in the reception. We booked in not thinking much of it and when to the room. The room was not like the photo it was very basic also we could hear dogs barking in the next room. We when out for the evening and came back to dogs everywhere. On the stairs in the corridors barking all night !!! Later found there was a dog show near by. The hotel should of told us we were staying on a farm. Also in the morning there was no hot water.

Close to city center so u can walk around and see a museum or go across the street to a nice rock pub. Rooms were nice. Had a sauna in the room that was a nice feature. WiFi was a little spotty but got the job done.

Stayed two nights. Initially the reception gave me a room towards the roadside, but on my request they changed it to a room on the backside of the hotel. That was very convenient except for Friday night where the neighbour, a pub, had plenty of guest partying.
The breakfast was not exceptional, but average.
A nice and not very expensive hotel, I definitely can recommend for a stop over in Rakvere.

Have been advised to book with them when we realized that it was too late to book with Aqva Spa. At first was disappointed but our stay there had changed my attitude:) first of all, they were very friendly and willing to accommodate our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small kids) with just one extra bed, without having to pay for an additional one - we just had our kids sleep together on a nice big couch. secondly, the room was big and spacious and even had a sauna in it! (we opted for a Superior room that has 1 king bed instead of a regular double room that has twin beds!). Very clean, and my brand new white socks stayed immaculately clean even though i walked all around it! thirdly, breakfast was really good! not a tremendous selection, but exactly what you need - kasha, cereal, cornflakes for the kids, assorted meats, cheeses, breads, vegetables, bacon, eggs, sausages:)) yum! tea, coffee, fruits, cakes...what else would you want for breakfast?everything was fresh and hot! at first it seemed like we were the only ons there in the morning, but then some more couples went down, too. We walked from here to Aqva Spa and it only took less than 10 minutes and it was a nice walk, nothing special, but quiet and clean, (although there was some construction going on) Would definitely come back! Our 1 night at Superior room at Wesenbergh + 4 hrs at Aqva Spa were still over 50 EUROS less than if we had booked a Family room with free access to SPA at Aqva Spa Hotel. Might not be worth the trouble incdeed, but Wesengergh is deifnitely a great choice to stay at if Aqva is fully booked (our case)
