Travelled in a group tour. Well located within easy walk of waterside attractions and short walk to town centre. Plenty of exercise options, running, walking obviously, windsurfing, tennis, inside water theme park, etc, etc. Compact room though clean and tidy and on multi storey format without a lift which worried some in the group.

I booked a room in the hotel last-minute for a night. On Booking.com there was information, that I should check in before 18 but also that reception works 27/7. I sent a separate request for late check in since at the time of my reservation it was already past 18 o'clock. My reservation was automatically confirmed, but apparently nobody saw it on reception. We arrived at midnight to find the doors of the hotel locked, reception empty and nobody waiting for us. We had to search for another accommodation at this late hour and without any reservation. Very disappointed with the unreliable service of Astra Hotel. Even afterwards I only got a vague excuse email that probably goes copy-paste to virtually every dissatisfied customer!

Great value for money. Been with friends and family, very satisfied. All clean and nice. Service very coming forward. Descent breakfast. Rented sauna for few hours, not big Jacuzzi there, but big pool (was on maintenance). Spacious room where you can relax with fireplace. Has fridge inside.

The rooms are rather small. In the winter time you have to have extra electric heater in the room or it will be cold and in the summer time it will be warm. Almost no ventilation in the rooms and no air condition. TV's are old and very small. Breakfast is at best average On the positive side the hotel is close to beach. Hotel has free Wifi. City center is about 20 min walk away.

Let's start with the good things. The location of the hotel is quite good, it is very close to the sea and a 4-5 minute ride with a taxi to the centre of the city. The streets near the hotel are very quiet so there is no loud noise during the night. Also, there is a waterpark right accross the street that we visited and it was very nice. The breakfast is ok, considering that it is not a 5 star hotel, each of our group found something to have for breakfast. The staff of the hotel was also very nice and helpful, they ordered taxis for us and gave us some tips for the New Year's eve, where to go etc. However, the rooms themselves are veeeeery small. We had an additional third bed in the room and it was so packed, there was no place for our suitcases. Also, the walls between the hotel rooms are quite thin, so do not be surprised if you hear your neighbour snoring during the night. But overall it is an ok budget variant hotel.

The room was clean but pretty Spartan in decor and equipment. Ours faced the side with the garbage bins and there was quite a lot of noise outside in the middle of the night. No air-conditioning, no elevators. Breakfast was plain but ok. Good location near the beach, within walking distance of the city center.

Room was ok. There was no elevator, so we couldn't get around with stroller. Customer service could be better. Here was some festival going on and they put us to a room facing the festival even if we had baby with us. And we heard cleaning staff asking reception before check in if we would go to room X or Y. And that another room would have been across the hall.

There were 4 of us, a family with 2 children aged 18 and 13, from which I am the older one and we absolutely loved this hotel. We were on a budget holiday and this hotel suited our needs and price range very well. The location is near to perfect, there's only about 500-700m to the beach - you can almost see it from the hotels terrace. The centrum of Pärnu isn't too far away either, especially if you rent a bike, about 2km. Reception of the hotel is very well designed, although it is a bit small. There were a few very comfortable couches for waiting, but due to the receptions small size, there were not enough seats for over 10 persons (of our travel companion). Behind the reception - which is opposite to the front door - is the bar/restaurant, where not only is breakfast served, but at evenings, it serves as a bar and there is (often) music playing on late evenings and people are dancing there. You can hear the music outside the hotel, but not into your room, so it's not a distraction. The rooms weren't very big either, as the hotel itself is quite small too, but still they were very idyllic and not too small. For me and my brother - especially my brother - a nice add was the TV. The TV was very small (and old), but the image was surprisingly good and there were some satellite channels - like Cartoon Network. Beds were comfy enough, as I remember. The room key had a big wooden fob, so it wasn't very easy to lose (and luckily I did not). As Finns, we were excited by the fact that the hotel has a pool and sauna. The truth wasn't as simple as that, though... The pool was nowhere to be seen (unless it was the small "barrel" without any water in it, at the entrance, and the sauna had difficult opening times - and it would've been relatively expensive extra. The hotel also had a nice-looking barbershop/beauty salon near the reception, which you could order some treatments to. I didn't see the prices, but I doubt it was very expensive. The salon was not open, unless there were treatments going on, so the reservations were to be made at the reception - naturally. There were two terraces, I remember, which had quite a nice view, although the building is not very high, but they were very dismal compared to what they could've been a little refining. There were only a couple of weak plastic chairs (which obviously were not meant for heavier people to sit on) and the smell was a combination of cigarettes and sewer... On top of that, the upper terrace was under the hotels logo, which seemed to have caught on fire sometime, as it was half-burned. This didn't give a very nice touch to the pleasant terrace-experience it could've been - no wonder there were no one else. There could've at least been a few sofas. Overall, I really liked this hotel, for the price that it was, and recommend it for any not-so-demanding people on budget!

We were a large group of 30 young professional people staying for a week in Astra Hotell in Pärnu. It is very hard to find a reasonably priced hotels in Pärnu in the busy summer season, so we were lucky to stay just minutes from beautiful Pärnu beach and promenade, just across the road popular water park, minutes from cozy restaurants and cafes. It is a walking distance to the beach and also to the town centre where you can find many activities. The hotel staff was friendly, the restaurant offers local specialities, you can have a morning coffee on the terrace outside. Pärnu is an amazing place during summer for sure, during the winter there are many conferences and sport activities. I am sure that hotel can recommend you options how to spend your time.

The hotel was modern, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Service was excellent. The internet was a bit slow, but likely due to the fact that our room was at the end of the building and the signal was weak. The breakfast had an adequate selection (cold cuts, cheeses, egg, cereals, juices) The in -house restaurant was reasonably priced and the meals were tasty and generous. It is close to the beach area and only 20 minutes walk from the old town.
