The property has superb staff, super-friendly people and very nice to kids as well. Nice location and beautiful surroundings. It is right beside the FIS level cross-country ski center in Estonia. It has perfect sporting facilities for all year round activities, indoor and outdoor. The town is small and quiet, with sufficient places to get a decent meal or have a romantic dinner.
We used the Karupesa hotel for a conference in October, out of season. It is perfect for a conference of up to 50 people, with a conference room that has plenty of light and looks out onto trees/grass behind the hotel. The staff (Katrin) were very helpful and always wanting to do their best for us. Water jugs very nicely presented, coffee breaks also ready and with a nice choice of snacks. The dining room is cosy, and the food was excellent! All our participants were happy. The rooms are good, plenty of space. Wifi also good. Couple of things to note: the sound system in the conference room is only linked to a small TV. No mikes or connection to a computer for sound. Also, the hotel is not staffed 24hrs a day - so the reception closes when no longer needed/overnight. But there is a number to call if anything is needed (e.g. surprise late arrivals). Behind the hotel there is a hill you can walk up for a good view - there is also a long zipline activity we would have loved to have done if we'd had time (8 euros for 2 gos). Next time maybe...…
The hotel is situated next to Tehvandi stadium and sports center which makes it ideal for participating competitions like Tartu ski marathon or Tartu running marathon in spring or for other races. It offers rich and tasty breakfast to go to the races or just sporting. Rooms are simple, but cosy and clean. I had a good sleep, silence at night and comfortable bed. The service was very good and personnel was friendly.
Close to Stadion. Friendly service. This is also the only good you can say about it. You must pay 25 Euro extra for sauna and it is never available. Breakfast is in a cellar without windows. Guests are coming in shorts and sandals. It feels like actually mostly like a youth sleeping camp. Nice people should find another place to overnight.
Very nice hotel, good service even if it is during low season. Breakfast time changed to the time we wanted it!! We had dogs with us and it is easy to take a walk with them, nature right outside the door. Calm and quite place, can stongly recommend this hotel!
Hotell is small, service is friendly. Looks like its family operated hotel. Rooms named sweet, was a 2 rooms compact pack. No luxury staff. Breakfast was a nice and simpel, tasty. It looks that hotel is popular sporthotell and sites near sporting complex and adventure park. If you like simpel hotel near skitrack, its for you.
The receptionists are kind and helpful. The room standard is ok and the restaurant is cheap but good (for sportsmen). It is difficult to rate it since I can't compare with other hotels in Estonia or close.
This is a B&B place with very friendly owners. Owners are available all the time. Rooms are ok but you must to share the bathrooms with other guests.
This is wrongly listed as a Scandic hotel. It's been independently run for many years. But it's clean and comfortable, and the generously-sized rooms comfortably accommodate a family. The breakfast buffet is 'continental' with bread, ham, cheese, etc. The dinner buffet looked unappetising, so we ate elsewhere. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a decent base for the many activities in the area. The Otepaa Adventure Park is next door with several family-friendly tree-top rope courses and zip slides. There is also canoeing on the beautiful rivers.
