This renovated mansion from the 18th century combines modern convenience with Old World Charm. The inside was immaculate.
The room offered free high speed internet which I had no difficulty accessing.
The beds were comfy. The bathroom was larger than most European baths. Towels were big and fluffy, and this was the one European hotel of the 9 we stayed at that actually had two washcloths in addition to the standard hand and bath towels.
A hair dryer was included in the bathroom.
The water was hot.
The room was not large, but certainly had enough space.
The breakfast was really out of this world. This is the one hotel where the staff waited on us for breakfast, rather than having a buffet. There was certainly more food than anyone would have expected, considering that it was included in the room rate.
There was an added plus of a camera-supervised parking lot to park the car in. We noticed that the hotel attendant was able to view the screen that featured the grounds and parking lot, adding a very nice security feature to this Penzion.
Also, there was a full restaurant in the place, and even though we were the only people staying in the place, we were able to eat a delicious dinner while being served by a very attentive waiter.
The only downfall would be the lack of an elevator, and we needed to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs, which did not bother us, but could be a problem with some people.
Lovely staff
Decent breakfast
Pretty building Clean rooms
Cons
Location, by an abandoned office building and industrial area
Air con poor
Bed awful, very old.
Rooms could do with an overhaul.
Really wanted to like it because the staff were so nice but it's just a bit shabby and needs some work.
Recommended. No elevator and no good for wheelchair users. Breakfast could have been better and with more variety.
Very very peaceful. I stay in hotels a lot and get really stressed when im continually forced to listen to dreary pipe/pop music while eating (i am a bg music fan btw) my food. This place had some playing but exceptionally quiet and therefore un-intrusive - however, outside on the veranda back garden open air section of restaurant, it was strikingly calm no music and stunning views - a very "coupley" environment in many respects ....altho i was there with colleagues on a business trip so absolutely no romance lol!!!
The highlight was an evening meal. I had consume for sarters and Guinea Fowl for main with a mushroom and juniper risotto. Let me say, I adore food - in many ways i am food obsessed (i also worked in kitchen for 15 years) so know the basics....this food was was beautifully presented, fresh, hot, super tasty and un-pretencious. While staying here i was surprised at how empty the rest was - so was nervous that food would not be up to scratch - i ate in peace, harmony with stunning views of the hills/mountains. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful....my food experience was awesome....especially for what i paid ....
Looking as rather luxurious place from first look, owner has totally changed the concept - it is self service restaurant for fast and good quality lunch ...
I like the concept ... you don't need to wait for waiters ... just take a table, choose and grab from good variety of menu, and enjoy it ... before your return to you table, water is already waiting for you there ...
Food quality is good and very reasonable priced ...
So.... great place, good business concept, quality food ...
Good food, but small menu. You could try everything in two days.
Quiet but few minutes from Town centre.
The wifi connection is zero, it was impossible to work in the room. The breakfast had no big assortments.
"stunning views out back, quirky, friendly and super clean - you must try the restaurant ....peaceful"Read full review
