I stayed here with family for 2 nights. The rooms have no curtains and are poorly furnished and some of the electrical fittings are bordering on dangerous. The rooms are built in a circular fashion around a central communal living room and kitchen. No breakfast is provided and its first come first served to use the kitchenette in the morning. The landlady was absent and only made an appearance to collect her money the night before we departed. The price is comparable with other local Penzions that are of a much higher quality and serve breakfast. My advice is that its fine for a short stay and to crash overnight after a hard days hiking, if your staying longer do some research, plenty of better options available at the same price.

My wife and I stayed in one of the annex rooms. We shared a kitchen with one other couple but we had a private shower and toilet. The room was a nice size with shelving, hooks, big windows and free internet. There was also a TV but none of the channels worked so I didn't really see any point in that. Better to just take it out. The room has a heater but no air conditioner. It wasn't that hot out when we were there though so opening a window was just fine. The location is pretty decent. A 5 minute walk from Novy Smokovec station and about 10 a minute walk to the Vysoke Tatry (Stary Smokovec station) funicular (the one that takes you up to Hrebeniok). There are also a number of cafes and shops just east of the property including a small supermarket. We didn't really have any problems with the place. Our only bit of criticism would be to take down or change the big flashy Penzion Gabriel sign on the main building. It's super tacky and doesn't really the fit the mountain/nature atmosphere. …

We came here for three days to go skiing. Place is not bad and price is quite good. Views are beautiful, rooms are clean and have new equipment, but if there are many other turists, noise is big. Besides there is no reception and sometimes it is hard to find the owner, who additionally isn't willing to help you... But I can recommend this place for these who need place for a ski trip or mountain hiking trip. Tatras are REALLY beautiful ;)

everything was nice and clean. the common space is a bit dark but the rooms are nice and clean. good price-quality ratio. suites are spacious. the door of the shower is seethrough which is not the best when you're on vaction with your friends.

Stayed in a large double suite, with two lounge-type areas, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Nice shared lounge area and kitchen that is shared between the apartments. Not badly priced and only a short walk into Stary Smokovec.

The room was ok, the place was awesome, but you can get to any other hotel for half the price, we wanted something special so we chose Gabriel, big mistake. The heating was quite noisy and the staff a bit rude, the woman even came into out kitchen and almost to our room without previous warning! And when we told about the noise, she didn't seem to care at all. I recommend to chose another hotel, there are plenty for better prices.

Lovely hotel, beautiful surroundings, close to all attractions. Good value for money. We have struggled to find it at first. Free parking, free wifi, lovely garden and barbecue area. Definitely will return.

We stayed a four nights in this family BßB small hotel. Hotel is situated near the centre of Smokovce, but in very quiet area. Hotel is surrounded by very nice garden, close to the forrest. Hotel is clean, staff is very friendly. Kitchen is available for everyone. We missed only good wifi connection.

This is a wonderful place to stay, with amazing views of the mountains, right in the heart of them, one can go hiking straight from the Penzion, the mountain tram stops are very close, we were welcome with our dogs, even got offered a bed for them, the owners are very helpful, friendly and can give advise on anything you need. The penzion has several rooms and common kitchen and living room with fire place. We had splendid time.
