The rooms and bathrooms were renovated and very well kept. Entire staff was friendly and helpful. Centrally located 10 to 15 min walk to main train station very doable in good weather conditions. My only suggestion would be be to have A/C summer time was very warm. They did supply me with a fan which helped at night.
As almost all slovakian buildings, it looks terribly square and communist from outside. Yet I was surprised it all has been renovated: fresh spotless rooms, all commodities, great wellness, quiet, good restaurant, young staff and good prices too. In the center of the city and close to Slovak Paradise. I recommend!
Looks a bit unwelcoming from outside - it is probably some old communist building, but it has been fully restored. Rooms are spacious, new and clean. Breakfast offers plenty of options. Welness center is also nice bonus. Location is very central - overall it is a nice base for exploring the neighbrhood either for business or leisure.
The Metropol has been fully refurbished very recently. The structure is 1995 (date on Otis lift panel) or earlier. We had a huge suite( "Apartment") on the sixth floor, decorated in a modern white paint style with no,pictures or any ornamentation. The functional nature of the furniture was very good, especially the superb bed, which was almost long enough for me.I found some proper sheets( intended for the sofa bed) in the wardrobe, and was able to get rid of the giant heavy duvets. There was extensive storage, useful if bringing a lot of walking equipment, and the usual fridge, safe,. and kettle. The windows kept out most road noise, and the curtains, whilst not quite opaque, were good enough. The modern styling had not gone too far,so that there was still a carpet ,not laminate floor, and the bathroom was usable: the bowl- on- shelf basin was big and had a plug, there was a bath, and the was no "hot flush" from a heated mirror. Some room features were not competently designed- the very good aircon was in a corner of the lounge cooling the desk, not in the bedroom:there was inadequate towel drying : the bathroom had an unnecessary second door, thus requiring powerful closers to stop clashing. Th room had no ironing board, but the hotel did laundry/ ironing very cheaply within a few hours. We had a good dinner, with excellent wine and service,in the large cool restaurant.Breakfast was particularly good, with a full range of hot food including western type sausages and reasonable bacon.Unlike the Polish five star I recently visite, there was real jam in jars and decent tea .Staffing was also good at breakfast. The hotel seems well run and staffed, and I would gladly return.…
Hotel is situated close to the center. In front of it there is a big parking place. The receptionists were nice. The room was big and clean. It has separated bathroom and toilet. There where a hair dryer in the bathroom. There where a lot of choices for breakfast. Didnt try the wellness center. But it is a nice hotel
Wellness was amazing. I really recommend this place. The room was fantastic, nice and clean, you have also slippers and bathrob in wardrobe, if you want to go to wellness. The breakfast was delicious. Great staff, nice dekor (flowers). Thank you!!
Large and it seems recently renovated room, located on the 5th floor of the western side of the building was quiet and comfortable. Wi-fi operating throughout the rooms and floors. Staff friendly and unobtrusive. Breakfast was basic and could use some vegetables or fruits. Price performance is really good.
We stayed two nights in this hotel and it was very comfortable. The room is spacious and very clean. My six years old son had also enjoyed his stay as he had a room for himself. The breakfast was also very good and there's one particular staff (a young bloke - didn't get the name🙁)in the breakfast room who was very friendly and helpful. Location wise it's perfect! Very close to everything - city centre, bus station and train station.
Stayed in this hotel for 1 night and I was really surprised. The hotel from the outside didnt look interesting, but when I came to the room it was amazing. It was so big and comfortable with separated bathroom and WC. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. The view was also amazing. The only thing I missed was aircondition, it wasnt very hot outside so it wasnt that necessery but during hot summer season it must be really hot in the room. It was a great stay for really good money.
I spent one week there, the building is a little bit old, the elevator can hold just a couple of guests and the room is very very small without AC, I went during summer time and was not easy to get a fan; the restaurant's breakfast is very limited but very well tasting; the people in the front desk are very supportive and always available to help; the hotel is very well located, near to the main street and a supermarket, the view from the window is great.
