Garni Hotel Tatramonti had a nice room and free parking in the courtyard, but there are a couple of things that we did not like. First of all, breakfast was just ok; second, it was not good value for money. Therefore, it is ok only if you are able to pay a low price.
It was undoubtedly one of our best accommodation choices for our trip to Slovakia. Poprad is a perfect city for visits around the area without a private car thanks to the very good location and transport connections (trains, buses...) We are two hikers and we recommend this spot. Our room was clean, silence, spacious, with many wardrobe and drawers and a lot of comforts. The wifi is very good. The bathroom is clean too, with a big shower (Be careful because the water can be very hot!) The hotel offers the towels and toiletries. There is the hairdryer too. Breakfast is available for an extra charge in a private bar. There was a menu when you can choose 4 different salty food options. On the buffet table, you can find pieces of bread, jams, pieces of cake or pastries (sweet food is not very popular in Slovakia!), orange juice, coffee... There is also a room for Indoor Golf (I didn't try it, but local people looks very enthusiast!) Overall is great value for money, We absolutely recommend it!…
A spotlessly clean, warm hotel close to Poprad’s high street. The rooms and bathroom are spacious, the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available for an extra charge. Restaurants and shopping mall are within a few hundred meters. We would definitely stay here again.
This 3 stars hotel located 150 meters from main area of restaurants and bars , the beutiful cherch is further 300 meters. The reception was quick with yana providing all the info we needed. The rooms are clean big and the bathroom as well . The only thing i missed was a cattel for coffee making all in all the staff were polite happy to help and generous. Breakfast was ok and they are open for changing in the menu. Loved it
The hotel is very nice, people were also very kind and always available to help. Although Poprad is small, the location is great as it's close to the main street where all the restaurants are. Great place in which to base if you're willing to go to the Tatras.
Staff is symphatetic and accommodating. Room (double bed, closet, table, tv, free wifi) for couple is very nice, with bathroom (massage shower, toilet and sink in one room) and small hallway. I was there with my boyfriend. We enjoyed the divided bar for smokers and nonsmokers. Prices in bar are really nice. Big plus for this hotel is indoor minigolf. In summer you can go to the patio (is closed from three sides with building of hotel = privacy). Building is newly renovated (i think it was open in feb. 2015). Location of hotel is advantageous = in city centre, close to apuapark.
Good, comfortable, friendly Hotel in the right location, and at the right price With only a few days at my disposal, I wanted a short, cold, break in a location where I had quick access to an airport, the Tatra mountains, and with good railway connections for swift visits around the area. Poprad-Tatry has all that, and this Hotel met all my needs. The Hotel was a very short (5 minute) walk from Poprad centre, and the town had all the places I needed to go. It also has a very nice Shopping Centre to (Forum) to while away some time, and of course to keep warm! My room faced the main street in front (really very quiet) because I'd asked for a balcony. Catching the sun rising was a great way to wake. Room amenities fairly spartan, but warm, comfortable, really good sized bathroom/shower, good wifi, and various countries TV stations. I arrived as a cold snap took hold (down to minus 11 or so in the street, -20 on the mountains). The Hotel itslf was wonderfully warm and particularly welcoming in the bar (and also breakfast) lounge. A good selection of warming drinks, with a few nice beers. Very relaxing spot, tempting to stay into the evening Breakfast was as much as I wanted before heading out (breads, jams, cheese, eggs etc. There was a menu but they let me pick and choose options) Curiously, there is also a room devoted to Indoor Golf (I didn't try it, but wanted to mention it!) Anyway, I liked the place, and would be happy to go back. Particularly enjoyed the quietness at the time I was there.…
It was very nice surprise for us to arrive to this modern, new and fresh hotel (were expecting something else). Very warm welcome by reception, superb bedroom (we could hardly imagine something better), excellent location (almost on the Poprad’s highstreet), great value for money, all staff was professional, friendly, kind and helpful. We will stay there again on our next visit to Poprad.
One of the best choices in Poprad, hotel Tatramonti is centrally located, yet on a quiet street. It has its own free parking and WiFi is fast and free as well. The rooms are spacious and stylish, with super comfy beds. This hotel is an excellent spot for a business trip or days off, with very professional and helpful staff. I was totally pleased with all I got there including the price.
Poprad itself is not picturesque - main advantage is its location. Just a quick 5 euro taxi ride from the airport (pre-order for your arrival, or there is a bus which is timed for the Wizz flight from Luton). Trains from Poprad to the High Tatras are cheap and efficient - e.g to Stary Smokovec under 1 euro. Download the timetables as they are easy to follow. Hotel Garni is about 15 to 20 minute walk from the main bus/ railway station. The hotel is at the edge of the old town which is quite pleasant and had enough bars and restaurants to keep us happy for a long weekend. The staff were really friendly and helpful - reception, bar and breakfast covered by a young couple who went out of their way to help. Excellent value for money - e.g 1.5 euros for a 0.5l beer, 2 euros for a large Jamesons, 3.8 euros for breakfast (limited choice of freshly prepared hot food - ham and eggs, toasted sarnies - cereals, rolls, yoghurts etc,). The indoor golf was strangely fun - helped along by the barman bringing us drinks to order. Disappointed that there wasn't much snow, and as a result the whole region was quiet. I would think it would fill up and get quite busy when it does snow though, and would be a great area for walking and hiking all year round.…
