We stayed as a family of three for one night only but unfortunately we were disapointed enough to decide not to visit again. Since we have two years old there was no need to book a bed for a child. So we expected to sleep in one bed which would be perfectly fine if there was not a huge gap between mattresses. Actually it was twin mattresses put together but they did not hold together. If hotel sells rooms like this for families with young kids, it should provide proper quality of sleep! They could put at least a topper mattress on top. Another thing was the AC. The room we stayed in was unbearably hot. We tried to lower the temperature but AC wouldnt go under 22degrees of Celsius and I really doubt there was 22 in the room. It was at least 26. Obviously we turned off both radiators in the bedroom and the bathroom but still we were not able to get the temperature right. Bathroom smelled like urine which probably means they do not clean the toilet properly! Pools and spa area were ok. No complaints about it. Our daughter had a lot of fun there. Selection of food was not great but also not bad. Food was quite tasty, not top quality but some healthy choices available.

Services and aquapark was very nice. Hotel staff was friendly and supportive. Aqua park was clean and well maintained. But it cannot be said about the room. We had a mezonet room and the walls were dirty, carpet totally shabby, beds uncomfortable and staircase way too steep. However I understand that the hotel industry is having very difficult times and it is hard to do refurbishment.
Therefore it’s acceptable.

We loved Slovakia. The scenery was stunning and it was so nice to go a place with old original buildings and no fast food franchises. We stayed at AquaCity. It is a brand new resort I would say 4 or 5* quality. The rooms were very nice. The spa was great. They have several saunas and pools. It is built on a geo thermal lake so the pools are all heated and kept warm even in winter. We went skiing and walking. It was nice to come back and use the spas after a long day of activities.

It was very affordable and the food was very good they had traditional Slovak food but it is very mixed with Hungarian, Polish just generally European. My husband is very picky and he found plenty to eat. The Skovak wine is excellent!

We have already booked to go back again! (---)

Very kind personnel at making your reservation and at the reception desk with a good command of English.

Very rude guards and parking personnel, very poor car park.

AquaCity is not a resort, not a hotel; it is a great aquapark with some 10 rooms for thuse unlucky, who happen to believe they can relax here as the homepage suggests.

Hundreds if not thousands of Aquaprk guests walking trhough the 'hotel' hall every day;
strong trembling and loud noise in the nicely furbished rooms/suites due to the spa machinery on the other side of the room walls and the on-site construction work.

Great swimming-pool-investment at a poor surroundings.

Go to the spa but not the hotel.

Nice hotel, a little bit long walk to reach the room. No wifi in the room is not for 2014 any more.
4 stars side is nice. Breakfast good. I didn't checked the swimming pools and laser show. I was working and i just need to work what I couldn't. Perhaps for those which are on vacation wifi is not a must

So we didn’t stay at the hotel but we went there for an all day trip. We have bought a vital ticket which is 24 Euros for 6 hours and we went there with our two children 3 year old and 8 months old. We were told at the gate that we cannot take the pushchair with us as this has been in the Aqua city rules from that day that no pushchairs are allowed in there. So we have got tickets but we cannot go in there. My daughters still sleeps during the day and obviously she isn’t walking yet so what to do how we can be there without a pushchair-it’s impossible. So we have called the manager and she told me that there is no way we can take the pushchair with us, my 3 year old started to cry because he thought that we are not going in and he was waiting for that day for over a month. So I said to her that we are going in and I will use the pushchair and also I asked her where is that new rule , where can I find in writing and she told me that she can’t find it-ridicules!!!! So we went in and on the end she told me that if we will unfold our pushchair there she will get some people who will take it from me and destroyed my pushchair- what the hell is that-customers service in Slovakia like always excellent. No way we are going there again. And I will make sure that every parent from Europe will see my review! Good luck AQUACCITY in POPRAD .

Having Heard of Aqua City through the "Buzz" in the Industry, I had great expectations of this new resort.

Upon arriving in little Poprad i was immediately blown away by the airport!
this is, i believe, the highest altitude airport in Europe...and it faces an entire chain of Mountains( 3rd highest in europe)!!

Very efficient airport that takes flights directly from London.

after a 10 minute drive we arrived at the famed Aqua City....!

Upon entering i was whizzed through check in and brought to my room.

The quality of the rooms is impeccable!!...clean, modern, confortable and most importantly...functional!!
this resort has a 3 star hotel as well as a 4 star hotel called the Mountain View( we stayed at the Mountain view)

Throughout my 5 day stay, the service was flawless and for once in my life i can safely say that the word "no" was never uttered in my presence!
The service was so exceptional that they even offered to change the position of the satellite dish to provide me with more english channels!

The resort itself is something else...as far as your eye can see..pools pools and more pools(hence the name...Aqua City),,one of these pools is host to the most electrifying Laser show(yes in the pool) ive ever seen!!

the spa is exceptional with steam room, menthol steam room, herbal steam room, tanning room( a room not a bed!!), relaxation room, massage, massage showers, relaxation rooms, ice pools, ice cave ....and the list goes on!!

The resort itself offers every comfort and is impeccably clean with what i can only refer to as the most advanced conference center i have seen to date!

If you think i sound euphoric about this place you are absolutely correct!
It is a true experience!
I reccommend Aqua City to absolutely everybody and i will definitely visit it again,,,and again!!

pure relaxation in a great atmosphere sorrounded by all the modern comforts and amenities as well as entertainment!

AQUA City offers something that no other resort in europe can say they offer...a completely guilt free holiday!!...no emissions at all!...

a big thank you to all the staff at aqua city for making our stay something to remember!

khalil

I booked a room at a reasonable price on the hotel's own website. Taxi ride (which I had pre-booked) from Poprad airport to AquaCity took around 10 minutes and cost 4.50€.

The staff at reception were generally friendly (although check-in took a long time) and spoke good English. I stayed in the Seasons (3 star) section of the hotel - the Mountain View (4 star) side apparently has nicer rooms. There were good views of the High Tatras mountain range from the balcony outside the hotel lobby area.

Hotel guests have free access to the water park and wellness facilities. I liked the poolside bar! A good variety of slides, pools, saunas etc. Some of my friends booked private massage treatments and really enjoyed it. The laser show in the evening in the water park (which apparently is one of the highlights) was unremarkable. If you are interested in certain water park/wellness facilities, I would recommend checking with the hotel in advance to see if they will be open during your stay - some of my friends were disappointed that the cryotherapy facility was shut when we were there. The water park shuts at 10pm, and the bar on the first floor closes at 2am.

The bedroom was clean and comfortable, with a minibar which you can pay to use. My phone could detect wifi signal in the bedroom. No air conditioning, so it was slightly warm.

I booked accommodation with half board. Food in the hotel restaurant was buffet-style - the quality was decent, and I was satisfied with what was served given the price I paid for the accommodation package.

I highly recommend visiting Spišská Sobota (just 10-15 minutes by foot from AquaCity) which has a lovely square, church and some restaurants/cafes.

Spontaneously decided to go to Aqua City for a weekend road trip with the gf in the summer, we stayed here for 2 nights, it was quite boring. The water park is weak, there are no exciting water slides for adults. Hotel was clean, had a cheap feeling to it.

Feeling kind of let down by our stay (but staff were helpful). We stayed for one night at Hotel AquaCity and looking back 2 weeks later it still feels like it was money wasted. We, myself, wife, and two small children, made this a stop over coming from Budapest on our way to Krakow. I was thinking, great a family apartment, breakfast and dinner, plus getting to go to AquaCity (50eur day family ticket), seems like a good deal. The reality was although the room was a nice size. the second bed was an 'cheap' uncomfortable foam couch - practically unsleepable. it is embarrassing that you consider this a sleep option....go buy a better couch-bed!; the room we were in [I want to say 113] opens on to the outside balcony where people laugh and smoke till whenever they want; next to the kids play room (which was nice for the kids) where some unruly monsters thumped about well past decent hours - the reception refused to do anything about because the families were staying as part of a party; and there was no heat control. DO NOT STAY IN THE ROOM NEXT TO THE KIDS AREA....BAD IDEA. AquaCity itself was very much a let down, half the things were closed (basically any slide) so it was just a bunch of pools...50% of the park was closed....what a rip off. There is no way I would have chosen AquaCity if I had know this. Absolutely not worth making a trip to stay here. On the plus side, reception were very pleasant, the food was pretty good, and the bartender helpful. All and all, the price paid was definitely not at all what I would consider fair for what was delivered.
