Excellent environment, the place is cozy and really comfortable. The pension is located on Spisska Sobota, which I would call the prettiest part of Poprad - and it's only 15 mins by walking to the city center and the railway/bus station (just follow the river and the cycling path close to the football stadium, rather than the busy road on the other side of the river). Real added value are the hosts, super nice and welcoming - and with a fantastic breakfast, always fresh and different every morning (we stayed there for 5 days). Totally recommended. And excellent music taste :)
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on a recent visit to Poprad. The pension is in a great location, just a few metres from the old town and it's lovely buildings. It is a traditional old Slovak building with loads of character. Our room was spacious although the toilet and shower area is a bit tight! Breakfast was good and sets you up for a day in the Tatras mountains. The highlight for me was the friendliness of the owners, they gave good advice on what to visit and ordered us taxis. I would recommend staying here, the price is excellent and the location is perfect.
Martin, the owner of the place, together with his daughter and his partner gave us a friendly warm welcome. They tried very much to provide us with information and recommendations about attractions in the area they were very helpful and very polite. It is a small family Pension with only 4 rooms. Located 5 minutes walk from the old city and some nice restaurants. The small Bar at the entrance also serves as a dining room for breakfast, The breakfast (Done by order separately) was good, everything was just comfy. Parking: across the street-free. The only downsides were the small bathroom and few amenities. would recommend
Another lovely stay at this beautiful cottage. Warm welcome, clean rooms and tasty breakfast. The owner is always helpful and gives us the ideas for places to visit . You always feel welcome.Thank you
Me , my hubby and kids we are regulars in this beautiful cottage. The atmosphere is just great and the owner makes us feel welcome. It is close to Aquacity Poprad which is great place for relax or fun. Can not wait to go again;)
This Pension is sweet.. You feel like you are at home, in a cottage or visiting friends. It is very calm, homely and comfortable. You can relax there very nicely after the whole tough day - sitting by fire, on the patio, getting suntan in the upper garden of just drinking good beer or wine in a special room with a small (but well equipped) bar. The owners really care about their guests and their needs. They are very friendly, useful, communicative, kind and careful. Breakfast is very fresh and provided by the owners personally. So if you have any special needs, I am sure they can manage it for you. As Spisska Sobota is a historical part of Poprad (which is reachable by feet easily), it is a very calm place to stay. And so there are no bars. But in this Pension you do not need it, because this accommodation has its own small bar, and that is very comfortable after the whole tiring day. We had a double-room, which was situated in the attic, so it was a little bit small, but equipped very well. There was a kettle, some cups and glasses, hairdryer, very large TV with lots of satellite TV programs.. everything what you need for your stay. And the beds - perfect, large.. mattresses - 10 points... The only thing is, that the door is not soundproof much, but the walls are, so you do not hear other guests.. Only in the hall.. There is a big fridge, which can be used by the guests. But I am sure, if you need something, the owners will help you with it. Universe, in the accommodation you can feel that the owners take it seriously and with passion, and so its design, furniture and even small decorative details are very special, personal and fine. We recommend this accommodation definitely, and hope to come back soon.…
Me and my 3 friends stayed here for 3 nights. The guesthouse was for a reasonable price, 140 EUR including great breakfast (room/cuople) that was prepared by the owner. The guesthouse/room has a cosy feel, free high speed wi-fi, good location (2 min away from beautiful Sobotske namestie and about 15-20min to the centre of the town by foot). You can have a draught beer and other drinks (!! only for guests, not for public), talk to the great owner inside if you like. Highly recommend. We come again for sure.
we spent 2 nights in Barborka with our 3 little daughters. They loved it´ s traditional rooms, very clean, cosy and warm. Owner prepared for us not only breakfasts, but also a perfect dinners, with traditional slovak food, like from my grandmother. Perfect!
Everything apart from the weather was supee nice. The owner was lovely, he made breakfast for us in the morning, simple and very Slovak (the breakfast ;)). The rooms were traditionaly furnished, old school, wooden furniture. The place is small but cosy, perfect for a couple for a romantic getaway or a small family visit. Nothing luxurious, but exactly what I expected after seeing the penzion website. Well worth the price. Made me want to own a place like this one time!
We stayed here as a family of 4, along with another family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean and warm - just what's needed after a day skiing! Fantastic breakfasts which are really filling and it's nice to have a bar during the evening. Very helpful when needing taxis etc (we don't speak too much Slovakian) and more than reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
