Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place, very clean, rooms are very warm, quiet,1 min walk to aquacity. Restaurant is great, food was amazing, afordeble and very big portions. Staff was very nice too. The only problem is they do not speak English, I speak polish so there was no problem with understanding each other but when you go to the restaurant menu is in English so don't worry! I recommend this place for a weekend, very relaxing, feels like home, very traditional. At the reception ask for a discount card to aquacity, give €5 deposit and then you get 15% off. I went there with my parents for a relaxing holiday and I will be back definitely!

We stayed 4 nights at this pension a few days ago (FEB 2013). The rooms are big enough, clean and warm, even if outside there are many degrees bellow zero. The breakfast is OK for a pension, and the dinners are huge, for only EUR 4,-/person, very tasty traditional Slovak dishes. Wireless internet in restaurant and in rooms as well (very fast speed). Location very good, just across the street from Aquacity (but 3-4 times less expensive). 15-20 mins of driving to Tatranska Lomnica where we skied. Pet friendly for EUR 5,-/night.
Hope we'll come back one day!
PS: the full name of the pension is Penzion Koliba u Stefana.

Three of us on a business trip. This place was a real surprise! large spaces, nice forniture. I had the best soup I have ever tried! and the rest (meat, appetizers, ...) did not fall behind! I spent less than 15 euro for a soup, a big dish of meat and beer. It is worth a visit!

The price for a night with breakfast is very reasonable, the rooms are basic. There is a small telly, wardrobe and a not really soft bed. The bathroom was just okay, but everything was tidy.
WiFi signal was very poor in my room.
The best thing is the Koliba! Eat there, it's fresh and very tasty! Breakfast was also reasonable, don't expect a large buffet for that price, but for a roll or croissant with cheese and a coffee or choclate, you'll find everything.
The Koliba is good situated next to the Spa and just a short walk for the Poprad city centre. With a car you have good access to the High and Low Tatras, Slovenský Raj and Spiš Castle.

lets start with positives - (live) traditional music, big portions, stylish interior, good prices for food.
cons- food average to mediocre (superdry duck, second food mismatched) beer and drinks overpriced for the region, overcrowded.. result : go somewhere else, you expect very good traditional food, but you cannot get it here..

I stayed here with two friends on a weekend trip to see the Tatras. We picked this hotel for its location, being just few meters away from the Aquacity thermal baths. The place is wooden, so it has that cottage feeling. We rented a room for three people, had one double bed and one couch, but we knew this before booking. It was simple, all we expected for the money. The room lacked light as it had a small window only, same with the bathroom. The only thing that was disappointing was mold in the shower. The hotel has, however, a great traditional Slovak restaurant, very nice staff and is also just about 5 minutes walking distance from Poprad's old town.

We had a dinner there. Gulaš soup was really tasty and very rich in flavors. Portion was rather large like for two people. Garlic soup was ok. Fried cheese also ok too but without fireworks. Overall satisfied quality of food.

Juhturos es káposztás sztrapacskat ettünk, remek volt! Az étlapon fel vannak tüntetve az allergének.
We are eating dumplings with ship cheese and dumplings with cabbage (traditional foods of Slovakia), it was delicious! The allergens looks on the menu card.

The place is right behind a small restaurant. We saw 2-3 spiders in our room and were able to see webs in other places as well.
We asked then to turn on the heating and they claimed to have someone coming to fix it, but nobody came.
The location is OK and breakfast is minimal.
