This is the second time we visited the restaurant 2 years apart. Both times the food has been outstanding and the outside courtyard is a stunning and very relaxing location. The staff are very nice and helpful
We hiked for 6 days in the High Tatras, and this was the guesthouse for our 1st and 7th nights in Slovakia. The rooms were comfortable, and staff was very courteous. The food (gulash) we had on the 1st night was very good! But, what we didn’t know was that we would be served the exact same meal for the next 5 nights in the mountain huts (chatas). Those locations have extremely limited options (food is delivered via mountain carrier in some of the cases), and if you choose the half board you will be given gulash with no other option. When we returned to Atrium for night 7, we were ready for something else. Point being, this restaurant has a full menu and a lovely chef, so if you have the option to skip the half board on your nights in a vibrant city like Poprad, I recommend doing so. We had a lovely piece of trout here on the last evening. Alternatively, if you are only in Poprad for 1-2 evenings and want traditional food while you visit, then the on-site restaurant does a fine job. I also must comment on the excellent breakfast, as this was the only place we stayed which offered any kind of FIBER/plant/seed options for breakfast (other than bread). They had muesli with several different toppings (sunflower seeds, chia and flax seeds) as well as fresh fruit. It was very much appreciated!…
I had Deer Goulash and dumplings and it was just fantastic. Some lovely homemade fruit juice cocktails, great coffee and some lovely local spirits. Easy larking and was just across the road from my hotel. The whole square and it's building are idyllic.
We were here for two evenings. The rooms were very clean and comfortable however the one waitress in the restaurant was terribly rude. We didn't have any choices in our half-board orders. You get what they made. Our soup starter was broth with one small piece of potato in it, the main dish was some sort of goulash with a lot of bread and the desert was an overripe plum. People ordering off the menu were treated better by the waitress and the food definitely looked better than what we received.
I wanted after a visit to the church to invite broader family circle to celebrate (lunch for 12 people). The restaurant was empty so it looked fine, until I was questioned whether they have at the front desk empty envelope (I needed it for the money). I was shocked by his questions of whether I think if they are post office or paper shop. I turned around and we spent a nice time in next restaurant. I'm working also in the hotel and I'm always trying to do my best for walkins, guests, and so... Request like mine can be dismissed in thousands of other forms (much more decent). Just for a stupid response of staff they miss sunday lunch for 12 people and good reputation.
Guesthouse style, so do bring your own amenities. Stayed in a twin room which was basic and clean, but was at the attic and had a narrow flight of stairs to get up to the beds. Restaurant was great, we tried the salmon spaghetti as well as the grilled trout with herb butter, both were delicious and portion was huge.
Excellent service, friendly staff, well-priced delicious food. We went back twice and weren't disappointed! Thank you! :) Make sure you try the grilled sausage starter and the hot raspberry dessert. Some of the best dishes we ate on our trip to Slovakia
We visited this little hotel "again" beginning of May,visiting Slovakia from Canada And was not dissapointed . Great accommodation, excellent food, pleasant stuff One of the owners,Slavka, gave us very good info about High Tatras. Very short distance to very good hikes, shopping and water park Location is great. Caves, old castles, lots of historic sides, this hotel is in the middle of everything. Short distance to restaurants, but why eat somewhere else, food in hotel is healthy and tasty Cannot wait to be back, hopefully next year!!! Good bye,Atrium and High Tatras
We have chosed this little guest house for the second time; first time some years ago in the summer and now in winter. It has not disappointed our expectations - still very kind staff (a GREAT thanks again to Mrs. Tatiana Siposova&Slavka Gaborikova and all others, from girls in the breakfast room to the young waiter that is the "copy" of the czech actor Jan Budař ;-) - we did not remember his name, but he was really kind), still excellent breakfast and meals in their own restaurant, comfortable and quiet accommodation, lovely square in this charming old Slovak village. Hope that even this time it was not the last time ...!!!
I stayed there several nights, good staff, good food and very traditional, The location was very close to Aquacity and the Tatry Mountains, which made it perfect place to stay to enjoy everything the local area is offering.
