The location was very handy for the station, town centre and a hypermarket.. Both were about 10 to 15 minutes walk. We used 2 apartments. Both were very comfortable and each one could have accomadated more people than we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast which was extra, included a wide range of options for almost any European taste.

The apartments did not have a hob or oven, although we managed by using the microwave. There was a gas barbecue in the garden, which could have been used in warmer weather..

We only spent a night here, but our room/apartment was so well equipped and spacious that we could easily have used it as a base for a number of days. We arrived late one evening, and were given a friendly welcome, and directed to an excellent restaurant in Poprad for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and the coffee was great. The owners/hosts allowed us to leave our luggage in our room after check-out, which was very convenient too. Without a car, it is only a few minutes walk to the closest mall and taxis are easy to find. Views of the mountains from the hotel are beautiful!

Well located about ten minute's walk from the town centre and the bus and railway stations. Latter excellent for getting up to the Tatra mountains. Both our room and bathroom were large, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Opening windows and plenty of places to hang clothes aided our washing. Breakfast was very good (but see below) and served in a large excellent garden room. Owner directed us, and lent us a discount card to, an excellent restaurant adjacent to a shopping centre, a bit out of town but worth the walk. Used it (Fabrika) twice.
We were charged €12 each per day for breakfast instead of €8 which the confirmation quoted. The breakfast was good but not worth that amount. There were other financial aspects of the booking that we were not happy with and we'll be writing separately to our booking agency (not Tripadvisor)

Check in was a little confusing (finding the office) and we weren't given much information. After reading the other reviews of how engaging the owner was, I was left with the key and information about breakfast.

Positives: Location is close to town and the train/bus station. Bed was comfortable, good water pressure, wifi was fast and the room was clean. My favorite was the terrace which overlooks the gorgeous garden area. Breakfast was a la carte because we were one of few guests at the time. It was plentiful and the espresso machine was great!

Drawbacks: Although the owner was sighted many times while we were at breakfast or sitting in the garden, there was zero engagement with us. I expected the owner to interact in some way such as "how's your visit going?" or "do you need any information about the area?" One of the reasons I like to stay at smaller establishments is the ability to get great local information from the owner/manager.

Another drawback for me was the room ~ it was painted in red swirls. Not my aesthetic and definitely not a calming color.

We ended up leaving a few days early and I will likely not return to this vila. It was just OK and not the welcoming place I imagined it would be,

Mary made us feel at home because she and her family live in the same building as the hotel.
So the atmosphere was very... welcoming and comfortable which we loved....
She doesn't speak any English but her husbant does and you should be able to communicate about the basics.
The room had enough space and the pirce was very reasonable but:
We could tottally hear the bathroom activity from the next room, also some of their chatting.
About cleaningness...Well it was n't very clean....dusty floors and a spider behind the door which gave me the creeps (thank God my friend got rid of it).
About the breakfast: you have to arrange with her from the previous day what time you would like to eat, and she sets up the table, according to how many people you are. I was surpised but I would n't say that it wasn't enough..coffe was great, food was decent.
Coming back to porad I would stay there again.

This delightful little B&B is located in a top spot, next to a pretty little stream and a short walk to the railway station for easy access to the excellent rail services which include a light rail network to quickly take you to the High Tatras. In short, perfect for those coming to do local treks. Our room was very new, clean and comfortable. (Never did get the TV system to work; this is not unusual.) The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious, taken in a gazebo in the attractive garden - where you can also enjoy a cold beer after your walk.

Vila Mery is in a quiet location about 15 minutes' walk from bus and train stations and the town centre. We had Room 4 on the first floor which was spacious and really warm and had a balcony overlooking the rear garden. The owners were friendly and helpful, though only Pavol and one of his daughters spoke English. Bins were emptied regularly and towels were changed every 2 or 3 days. We found it to be good value for money.

This is a brilliant family-run pension. A short (10 minutes or so) walk from the Poprad-Tatry train station and the centre of town, next to the river.
The husband speaks English very well, and they both speak German and Slovak.
Breakfast was great. And only €5 - you'd be struggling to get cheaper, while keeping the same choice. There was a selection of cereals, bread (and toaster), cold meats and cheese, hot bacon, eggs and sausages, yogurts and fruit, as well as a couple different juices, several choices of tea and of course coffee.

There is a bbq in the back yard that is free to use, as well as children's play equipment.

The room was small but comfortable, excellent wifi, and quiet, even though our room was the first one everyone walks past.

Highly recommended

The family who run this pension are lovely and very welcoming.

Our room was very spacious, clean and came with a TV.

There is a backyard with play equipment if you have kids.

The garden area has a BBQ and a beer tap.

We found the location very handy as we don't have a car. Easy to walk to from the train station and close to the centre of town.

We thought breakfast was good too (however maybe a little over priced) it consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs, cereal, bread cold meats and cheeses. Coffee and juices were also available.

We would stay here again.
