A nice family-run property located in between downtown Poprad and Spišská Sobota. It was a fairly easy commute, however, it might be even more convenient if you have a car. The place itself is a cottage with a few rooms and a nice hall/dining room with a lovely fireplace. There was a good bunch of people sitting there with tea, which makes me think that this facility could be one of the deal-breakers for choosing this place instead of any other. The room I stayed in had a teapot and cups (no sugar or tea or coffee were provided). I was also able to get a hairdryer (on request from the owner of the guesthouse). The breakfast was served in the morning, eggs cooked to order. In my opinion, it was a good one. I definitely recommend choosing the option WITH breakfast when booking. Improvements: 1. Add tea/coffee/sugar to the teapot. 2. Add Shampoo/shower gel to the bathroom.…
This is a small gem in Poprad. The house and rooms offer great comfort, also the breakfast is very recommended. The owners are very helpful with advice for activities in the region. There are free parking lots in front of the house and cosy places to sit. Small bar at the reception. In a three to five minutes‘ walk, you reach some excellent local restaurants, the historical center of a medieval trade village as well as Poprad and also the Aqua City. All the sites and highlights are within a thirty minutes drive. An excellent place to spend a hiking and sightseeing stay.
Staying at this pension was a very enjoyable and comfortable experience made even more pleasant by the hospitality of the host who speaks excellent English (but we of course don't speak Slovak!) thus we were greatly helped by his kind booking of taxis for us, directions for old and new Popradand and the hotel discount cards for Aquacity which, if you've had a few days in the mountains, is a great way to relax and just on the doorstep.
Good location - walking distance to train/bus station, city centre and beautiful square of Spisska Sobota (although, the taxi in Poprad is so cheap you don't really have to walk anywhere). Located in quiet street. The staff (owners?) are friendly and willing. However, some ants appeared in our bathroom, not a big issue for us but might surprise someone. Overall, great stay.
Absolutely awesome place. Did not find anything negative. Owners are fluent in English and eager to help whether it be in regards to the Penzion itself or the High Tatra / Poprad region. They will suggest activities and restaurant, they are great ambassadors and you can tell they love their region. Penzion is located on a quiet residential street. Close to the hockey arena, 3 minutes walk. (which was great for me as I was in town for the World U-18 Hockey Championship) Also close to some restaurants. Rooms are spacious and clean. I would definitely come back and stay again should I visit Poprad again.
While visiting Poprad, we stayed at this amazing penzion. The owners are extremely kind, helpful, and gave great ideas about things to do in the area. The place has 5 rooms, is clean, updated, and very peaceful. It is excellently priced and breakfast is offered for an additional 5 euros. If you are vegetarian/vegan, they will also be sure to provide you with options as well. The High Tetras are about 20-25 minutes drive. Great hiking and bike rentals available in the Tetras area. Definitely plan to return to the area and would definitely stay at Penzion Plesnivec!
Penzión Plesnivec offers a good standard, it has all you need and the friendly staff is happy to serve the breakfast also outside the official hours. The room was really spacious and the same applies to the luxury bathroom equipped even with the massage shower.
I enjoyed a relaxing stay at Penzion Plesnivec. The room was clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful, even cooking me dinner one night when I was too exhausted to move after a day out and about. I loved the open fire in the lounge downstairs with the comfortable couch. There is also a bar, so a wine can be enjoyed after a day hiking in the mountains. It is a 15–20 minute walk to the train station and around the corner from a lovely square with many restaurants to choose from. If you are travelling into the mountains, you will end up doing some extra walking commuting. The breakfast was delicious. Eggs any way you would like and a great selection of teas. There is also a fridge in the hallway to store food for the days when you leave before 8am. Watch out for the thieving taxi drivers. The ride from the train station to the guesthouse should only be about 3 euro. Thanks for a brilliant stay and the evening chats!…
My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at pension plesnivec as our base for exploring the poprad region. The penzion was in a great location. Short walk to the old town with great restaurants and just minutes to Aquacity. Room was very clean and comfortable. Dusan and his wife were incredible hosts. They consistently went above and beyond helping us to explore the area. The breakfast was excellent and very filling. Highly recommend!
Clean, comfortable rooms. A great value. Kind owners. The only possible downside is that it's a long way from the train station...but it's also really close to historic Spisska Sobota. So, as far as location goes, it depends on if you prefer a more interesting area or convenience (if you have to catch a train).
