I stayed here for 5 nights in the hostel near the back. it is a little hard at find at night in the garden. It is like a home here. Nice rooms, needs an extra fridge in kitchen, excellent bathroom but just 1 for 14 beds though. I only saw the place cleaned once - the day a group were to arrive on third day. It seems the hostel is the only one in town and with better paying private rooms it gets forgotten about .The bathroom was a mess with water all over floor from shower curtain rod broken off. I had to go ask for toilet paper, matches and cooking oil. It is the perfect location but needs more attention during the day. I saw cleaning staff at other private rooms always but never at the hostel building. if one wanted to go to their restaurant - no luck as it closed by 6 pm. I saw it used once .. a family dinner. A good common area lots of room and nice balcony off 1 room. Could do with a couple towel rails along the walls in dorms. Nobody seemed to care of guests except when payment was due...nobody around generally. Soon after arriving I closed the door and was locked in. I found the door handle broken both sides..luckily 2 others were in next room so knocked to get their attention. They called the phone number but no answer from owners so they managed to open it with the broken handle..really dangerous. So I had to place something at floor to stop it closing shut and warning others in room not to close the door. Easy walking to everything...old town, supermarket, Aqua city, train station, town centre If taking a taxi from railway, pay no more than 2.5 euro. I will stay here again if I return to Poprad.…
Enjoying the equipped lodging. Place is excellent in the geographical means, nearby Lidle, and many nice sites. It’s the right place for the high Tetra and the Slovak paradise (20-30 minutes drive). Classical for 4 people and up. Be aware your room is what you ordered.
I am here for hiking around the Tatras and Slovak Paradise. It formed a very good base. 15 mins of walk from train/bus station. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They accommodated my request everytime. It's low season so staff is not there 24 hours a day yet you could call or whatsapp them. Only a minor problem of my last two nights there because there were mice in my room as it's getting colder. Changed to another room immediately and had no problem.
Pension Aqualand was a great alternative to the overpriced Aqua City hotel rooms while being at the doorsteps of Poprad’s most popular attraction. The two bedroom apartment was more than comfortable for our group of five. Internet was dependable and same day laundry services at a reasonable cost was available. Staff were friendly and gave us some great recommendations for dining. They also lend you Aqua City discount cards that save you several euros.
I stayed here with my 5th grade class for a class trip. The whole class loved the experience. The rooms were excellent, the food was amazing, and the staff were so kind it really made for a perfect stay.
Enjoyed a great stay! Affordable, so friendly, clean rooms, lent us butter to cook with, and were just in general extremely hospitable. We had to reserve very last minute and they were so accommodating and even gave us a deal for being from the US. We didn’t buy breakfast there, but it looked great! There’s a sauna there, but you need to reserve it.
expectation missed reality, for this kind of money i paid for a stay, hotel doesn't fulfil our needs. it needs a big update, its outdated, during breakfast time we had a bad smell inside our room, shield on roof window broken, shower drain broken, it was a pool inside our bathroom, lots of spider web and dirt on smoking balcony, breakfast ok, staff and service excellent.
comfortable rooms. nice bedding and towels. home cooked food. plentiful breakfast and good choice. friendly staff. very helpful. we stayed as a group of 10 people and staff could not do anymore to help us. Even question and need they solved. Definitely will return again
In walking distance to the town centre and the train station. A traditional pension with great food and friendly staff. Also within a few metres of the aqua park. You will probably meet like minded people on adventures of their own.
As far as hostels in the High Tatras mountains, this really feels off the beaten track. And it's incredibly awesome for what it is. To get hiking and mountaineering, all you have to do is hop on the electric train from the train station (less than a 15 minute walk) and you're up in the mountains in an hour. Aqualand itself is nice enough. The beds were great and the location was very easy to find. The hostel/hotel's restaurant was fantastic and we ate there for both breakfasts and dinners. Absolutely awesome. Never worried about safety, and the ladies behind the desk knew English flawlessly and most waiters were clumsy (linguistically) but easygoing and very, very kind. Drawback: the neighbors own roosters. They will crow beginning at 5am. Bizarrely charming in its own way.
