A typical old Slovak hotel, decent and for a fair price. We walked in, without a reservation and were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave us a really nice room, high up with a wonderful view of the mountains. The room was clean, medium-sized. The furniture and walls have seen better days. I had trouble sleeping because the bed mattress was quite thin and it felt like I was sleeping on a wooden board. There's no fridge inside the room, but there was a hair drier in the bathroom, as well as filled-up soap and shampoo dispenser + fresh towels. There's Billa grocery shop just a minute away, which is nice and also a bus station right at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was included (random assortment of foods) as well as wi-fi in the room. I would suggest this hotel if you're looking for something inexpensive and clean, but not super fancy or modern.

Room - The hotel and room itself is fairly dated and no frills but basic amenities are there. Good if you only need a bed and towel for a stay.
Location- location was good and very near to the train station (5 mins walk) and bus station (3 mins walk). Also near to a large supermarket (3 mins walk). If you need to get to the city centre it's approx 15 mins walk.
Others- receptionist that we met on different shifts were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel needs a refurbishment. Toiletries are only provided once you step in this hotel. Plastic cups are not sealed. Good breakfast with lot of choices is served at 7am onwards. Polite receptionist.

This hotel can be summarized in the following: Affordable, clean, good service and very near to the train station. The room I got was very spacious and could have accommodated my entire family if they were with me. The staff has good knowledge of English which is not well spoken in Poprad.

The hotel is easy to find. It's old fashioned. The room was big, but we had three beds in the room although we booked a twin room. The room was clean, the hotel was quite silent. The staff was very nice and kind. There is a supermarket very close to the hotel. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. Breakfast very consistent, plenty of food, loved that :D

As for minuses:
The shower courtain was too short and bathroom floor was wet after taking a shower.
Shower cabin floor was cracked.
The wi-fi was quite slow at times.
No fridge in the room.

It was a nice hotel, very clean and the hotel staff was helpful. You can play tennis table for free and use sauna that wasn't expensive at all. The only thing that was really annoying was that they don't have double beds in that hotel and even if you move 2 single beds together, it feels very uncomfortable. Also, the breakfast was minimal. To get a real coffee you have to buy it every morning and most of the time they were too slow bringing new food. Other than that, most of the main mountains were pretty close and it didn't take a lot of time to get there. Also, train station and a supermarket are behind the hotel.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk away from Poprad Tatry railway station. There is even a sign at the station, pointing to the hotel. All major sights of the High Tatras can be reached via the Tatra Electric Railway.
The Tatra Hotel allowed us early check-in for free at 7:30am. We arrived by night train from Prague.
The price is very affordable, even during high skiing season.
If you are lucky and have an westside room you can have a beautiful view onto the Tatra Mountains.
The breakfast is included in the rooms, but the selection is very basic.
The hotel was built (maybe) in the 1970s, having the usual Eastern European architecture. Most of the parts of the hotel had been recently renovated.
Wifi is free. The room was clean and functional.

place is good - no discussion. all the rest (especially "waiter" and food in "restaurant") 1/10. I can't understand how is possible to serve dinner dishes a'la carte and give ready to use worthless SOMETHING called meal. once again - it was ready to use supermarket dinner served in very poor quality place. terrible!

Good choice for business travellers but not for a ski-tourists. The hotel is located in the city center, just few walking minutes form the train and bus station. The room are rather basic, but enough for three star's standard, everything was clean and in a good condition, however the equipement is not very new in the room. The bathroom was o.k. and also clean. There was WiFi conection the room but not for free. The staff were quite friendly and helpfull; I can say the same about room and restaurant service.

Less than 5 minutes walk from the train station and another 5 minutes to the town centre. Quiet hotel with clean comfortable rooms - ask for one with a view of the mountains. Has satellite TV so you can get BBC World in English. No toilettries, hair dryer, fridge. The website I used to book this hotel said breakfast is included but it is NOT. You have to pay another 5 euros per person. The coffee included with the breakfast is disgusting but you can pay extra to get a real coffee. The restaurant was not open in the evening when we were there. (Note: On Sundays it is hard to find a restaurant open anywhere in the town). There is a sauna but as we didn't use it I can't say how good it was. I would recommend this hotel as it was good for the price and an excellent location.
