I have been to this place before, this time during pandemic. There are shifts during breakfast, lunch and dinners to avoid large groups of people being there at the same time. You are also required to wear face mask outside of your room. I was satisfied with this stay, I do recommend visiting.

This is a great location and generally off the beaten track for English speakers. Have previously stayed here. Hotel offers good service is is within same complex as pool, saunas, mirror pool and mud treatments etc. Parking is easy in open area. Good selection for breakfast and dinner.

I would love to write a good review but it is heart-breaking how the ownership allowed this beautiful and world famous spa to degenerate. All spa houses bar Thermia are run down and shabby. The lobby in Esplanade is at least 25 years old. The prices are very high especially for the treatments but it seems nothing is invested back to the hotels... Service varies. We had good and bad experience. Some people clearly didn't want to be there.. I hope this will improve and the legacy of Winter family will be upheld.

Nechodte sem pocas pandemie. Tento hotel nerobi ziadne kroky proti corona virusu a nedodrzuje predbezne opatrenia napisane na ich webovej stranke. Je nemozne dodrzovat socialny odstup kvoli poctu hosti a nepozaduju od nich nosenie rusok. Nikto zo zamestnancov nenosi rovnako rusky pocas procedur vratane masazi. Ocakavajte ze budete zdielat stol s cudzimi ludmi, pretoze je otvorena iba jedna restauracia a nieje tam dostatok miesta.
Don't go here during a pandemic! This hotel is not taking any measures against coronavirus and is not following the precautions listed on their website. It is impossible to social distance because of the number of guests and they do not ever require masks. None of the spa staff wear masks during treatments, including massages. Expect to share a table with strangers during your meal because only one restaurant is open and there is not enough space.

The hotel is run down, the rooms are dated, and didn’t even come with enough towels for the number of guests. There’s no instruction from any staff on using the facilities. I can’t even figure out how to redeem my treatments that I booked and paid for. Despite the claims that Ensana is child friendly, nothing about this hotel is geared towards children. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

When I came there I thought that I walked throught time shift back to 1970 in the Slovak Republic with all authentic buildings, furniture and services. When you want to try the real sovietic era in the Slovak Republic during early 80`s of the 20th century I really recommend it, but the problem is that the hotel stayed in that era and now it is a year 2010.I also recommend it for its cheese like smell all around hotel. The food was for its expensive price indeed delicious because I felt like at my elementary school`s cafeteria, which was my first terrific contact what everything is possible in a gastronomy. And I also resommend it for young people or rather not because the average age of their clients is somewhere between 75 or 80.Maybe because of that you can see all around the hotel people of this age who think about their youth the same like this old hotel.And at the end I almost forgot one thing - it is the first hotel in my life where I experienced at its café that I had to pay for my ordered coffee at cashier because a waitress only brought my coffee but she did not come back from that time never.

We bought expensive package for 1 week for the New Year's Eve party. We have been very disappointed and angry from first moment. Staff was rude,shouting, service poor, in the restaurant the table clothe was dirty with big hole. As manager came unfriendly black guy absolutely no customer orientated! According his opinion it is "customer's problem if there is any-no problem of hotel/restaurant/spa!!!" Do not use shampoo/conditioner. The maid is collecting small bottles of shampoo's and "preparing" it for new customers! The bunch of black hairs was in bathroom whole week from previous customers. The room had terrible smell, duvet and pillow old (maybe from 80's-from socialistic time).Made didn't chance bed clothes at all. Do not ask for tissues-wasting time. During our last day we got call from Hotel office that we need to pay approx.25% more because they changed mind and price! NEVER BUY THIS HOTEL!

This hotel is quite old, what you can see from the outside and mostly in the rooms. The furniture is used as well as the bathroom equipment. Wall are very thin so you can hear every single word of your neighbours, what is especially uncomfortable when you are sleeping next to the room of older snoring guest. Hotel employees are mostly nice and helpful, although busy most of the time. What is very overpriced and low quality is the food. You get better food in any small pub around for one fifth of the price. This hotel is simply not worth the stars and the money they are asking. There are many much nicer places to visit as a spa guest in Slovakia.

This is my fourth stay in city of piestany, I've always stayed at thermia palace, however this time I've decided for change to try baleanea palace. For sure it was a wrong decision! To begin with this hotel has several positive points: Nicely located in front of big garden and green space, superior room was modern comfortable and newly renovated. Although phone was not working and wifi signal was weak. On the negative side they surely have a problem with their staff! To begin with the reception staff: extremely rude, UN experienced staff with very poor language skills and very UN helpful and arrogant ! I asked the reception if they have any trips to Bratislava he said with anger: no go and search the net! I discovered later that the trips office just directly next to reception do arrange those trips . Nursing staff are not the best as well and were UN capable of speaking any English and non cooperative as well. The biggest crises was the dining room; worst food and beverage management I've ever seen. Bad on all aspects. Dirty table and spell over every where.Food was bad and had a cheap feeling, boufait was limited and repeated almost exactly the same every day! The worst selection of fruits and deserts, the worst cooked meals ,very very bad service and extremely disorganized , staff looked like trainees with no experience and some times with no manners as well. Refills never done on time, orders never filled on time, they often didn't even know what they were serving. Although the timings on the restaurant door announces that it is open yet long before the closing time you will find every thing empty and no thing left to eat.We spoke to the restaurant manager about the selection of food and he said yes we know about it !!! On a conclusion restaurant dirty and disgusting . Speaking about medical treatments, I would say it is limited as we were not given some of it based on that we were staying less than 2 weeks. As a result I found the place not really worth it . And the staff require plenty of training as their ruddiness is UN acceptable. To add to it, late check out was not given despite availability and despite being a right for danubuis euro points card holder. At the end the guest relation manager promised a discount for all the mess they caused for us but she didn't do any thing eventually. Baleana palace never again. You would get much better option for 260€ a night. Just stay away.

Hi Valery,
To get from the train station to Kúpelný ostrov ( Spa Island) you use bus line nr. 1 or nr. 11 - bus stop is located just in front of it. Checking the timetable, bus is going every 2 hours AM and from 1PM to 4 PM hourly.
You see the names of the hotels listed as bus stops .... just if you want to go to Thermia please get off at "Patria" bus stop.

Погода в сентябре (были с 04.09 по 16.09 2016) была прекрасная. Очень тепло, днем до +30, ночью +15-17. Нужна ветровка и легкий свитер, чтобы гулять вечером в парке или у реки. Днем же нужны летние вещи, и побольше..
