Detailed Reviews
stayed there with my family and also some friends. We went mid week in June and stayed for 2 days. Place is in a great location, next to the river and close to piestany. As we live in Bratislava, was a nice easy trip by car. You are given breakfast which is lovely. Rooms are clean and very spacious and the pool is excellent for the kids along with the other playthings. Is great being able to just watch the kids play whilst relaxing. I also had to do some work whilst there and had great wifi signal and was able to work on the table in the room. We are going back again at the end of August and think we will become regular customer as is great value and satisfies all a family's needs.

If you enjoy a modern and fresh design, travelling with kids you will definitely love this place. Only shame it was past peak season so the swimming pool with salty wather was shut as well as the cafe otherwise it would be perfect, however we enjoyed the garden with loads of stuff for kids like slide, little wooden house and plenty of toys and bikes. Very chill out atmosphere - close to town. I appreciated very baby friendly accommodation.

I went here just for the swimming as it was across the street and my hotel did not have their own pool. The pool had salty water with the temperature of 29 degrees, which was a plus for me. The whole area was clean. It also has a joined cafe so if you are tired if swimming you can get coffee or some cocktails.

Vlnka apartments consist of a small group of rooms (10) on ground and first floor. A few are 1 bedroom but most are studios.
Our studio (Coral) and consisted of a large room dominated by a double bed. There was a large sofa which could also be made into a double bed. Furniture consisted of a double chest of drawers, a 2 seater breakfast table and a wooden bar suspended from the ceiling to hang your clothes on.
To the right was a small alcove which was the kitchenette, a kettle and double ring hob was the lot, but plenty of cutlery dishes pans etc.
To the left was a separate room, toilet, wash basin and stand up shower.
The room was very clean and bright, the staff were also extremely pleasant (Something we found was not always the case with Slovakians) and could speak English well enough to understand, the owner, could speak perfect English.
Faults or problems that could be dealt with by management.
There is no aircon and with the temps on arrival in the top 30 degree mark, the room was terrible to sleep in, perhaps hiring fans might alleviate the problem!!!.
There is no TV, now nice to go away and get away from the world, so as to speak, but I like to know what is happening, and would normally keep it tuned to BBC World Service, but not here.
The curtains do not fit the windows, which resulted in us having to change in the bathroom. There is a blind, but you are unable to pull it down as no one has bothered to put a cord on it.
It would appear that the apartments are open to the public and we found that on some days the garden area and pool was packed with outsiders who came for the day. On one occasion we came back to find a birthday party in full swing and guests sat on our chairs on the verandah outside our room.
The cafe sells drinks and tea/coffee but not snacks or meals (apart from breakfast) They did sell ice cream but ran out and it was not replaced.
The small complex is very modern and extremely well looked after. It is situated in an area where opposite there are 2 new hotels, next door is an older communist era hotel and some that are now derelict and in disrepair.
We borrowed bicycles (free to guests staying) and rode along the River Vah, which is right beside the apartments and across to the Island Spa area's.
Eating out is so cheap it is unbelievable, and the plate comes fully loaded, on most occasions we were unable to finish and restaurants will quite happily pack it in a box for you to take with you.
We stayed here for a week, most stayed for a few nights and moved on. We found it an ideal location to rest up and to travel out to visit the various sights in the areas surrounding. We took the train to Bratislava much easier than driving and parking up. Took 1 hr and the cost was 8 euro return.
