The location of the hotel is good. There is not smiling stuff, nobody say hello, we are glad that you arrived. In Slovakia the receptionists, the waiters and waitresses are mainly unfriendly. In Magnolia we have had two terrible experience. One was the wellness. It is written that the facility is open from 14: 00 till 21:00. The tall blond lady start to close the facility at 20: 25. She closes the camp-chairs, opens the doors of the saunas. When I ask what happens: she shout on me: you not have bought sauna ticket (we have had full facility on wellness) "you don' t have anything' shouted. I think that this style and attitude is inacceptabel even on a market place not in a 4* hotel. The other terrible event was when we accepted a pocket from abroad via GLS. We could follow the route of the pocket on internet. One receptioniest has taken over the pocket. We asked: where is the pocket: the receptionist said: there is not pocket. We have shown the name of the person who has taken over the pocket. we hav got in this way the pocket. In addition the photos of the Hotel are not exact.

It is hard to understqnd why the hotel have 4 stars. The service is really not taking to much care. The first room I got had lot of mold in the bathrooms. AfterI complained at the reception I got another room, but not even a simple "sorry" came from zhe reception. I have the suspition, they have the room with mold to anothe guest without being ashamed.

If you look on the internet, you will see this hotel advertised as a 4-star. Don't know who came up with this rating but they must be clinically insane. The hotel seems to be ran by a badly organised bunch of women that work behind reception that smile but only when they have to. Negative points 1) Had a number of issues during our stay - bar would open late one night but then the next night it would close on eleven. This wouldn't be a problem but there were thirty of us in a group and hence simple business sense dictates you would open the bar!!! 2) Staff in general were about as cheerful and helpful as prisoners on death row. They weren't knowledgeable either. Room rates even when confirmed in writing by my Slovakian partner were queried on check-out. One room for example was over charged 20 euros a night - won't see that again. 3) Breakfast was pretty dire. They only tend to put decent food on at the week-end as this is when they are busy. 4) You wait ages for a lift - this tends to be because the cleaners are using them 5) They are good at promising but don't deliver 6) If you stay in an apartment for 3 people - do not expect the spare bed to be made, in addition when you ask for it to be made, expect to be told to wait until the morning as the housekeeper i.e. cleaner has gone home in the morning before you were able to check in. Plus points 1) Leaving 2) Food served in the restaurant was ok but the atmosphere was like an old peoples home. 3) The Wellness center - and more importantly the lady that runs it are brilliant. She is always friendly and happy to see people. We had a number of massages and for 15 euros for an hour it's one of the best holiday experiences i've had - you come out almost floating you are so relaxed. 4) There is one receptionist which is friendly and helpful - good luck to her being on shift though To summarise - don't stay in this hell hole ran by clowns - but definately do take the time to go to the wellness center on the first floor. Anyone can walk in and book a massage. 4-star - 2 at best!!!!

I stayed here for five days in September. I chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool. It has an indoor pool which is not open at weekends and is not open till 2pm on the days that it is open. There is a small charge even if you are resident in the hotel. Although there are piles of towels for the massage part of the area they are not for swimmers and you have to bring your towel from your room!

I had a single room on the ninth (top) floor. The room was adequate but the two old lifts had no indication that they had arrived at my floor and at busy time there was a long wait.

Breakfast buffet was an abysmal affair. The yoghurts were the most tasteless I have ever experienced as were the juices on offer. The coffee was from a machine offering six variations all of which were appalling.

The reception staff with one exception were obviously annoyed at being asked to actually do something. The printing off as requested of my final bill caused much huffing and puffing. I would not have employed any of them.

All in all this hotel is a poor example, and certainly not four star.

Disgusting, dirty...from the entrance hall through the elevator to the room...stains and dirt everywhere...not even a flat screen tv but the old-school one. The remote was not working properly and seemed to be used by thousands of hands...toilet broke while our stay...breakfast very poor...staff quite ok...would not recommend to anyone...can not understand the 4 stars it got...

I booked into this hotel when travelling to the area for medical treatment. On arrival my Doctor's manager rang them to say that I was not well enough to stay there and could they please cancel my reservation - this conversation took place in their own language so it was quite clear. Imagine my horror when I got home only to discover that they had helped themselves to payment anyway! I have contacted them and they maintained they couldn't speak English so the agency then contacted them and they refuse to refund the money. I was told by the Clinic I was attending that it is an awful place anyway. Avoid it or you too might well end up ripped off!

Terrible hotel should be condemned, definitely not a 4 star; where to start...

The room was a death trap, plug sockets hanging off the walls, one with bare wires sticking out next to the kids bed. tables with broken legs, equipment very old and partially working, see-through curtains, thread bare carpets, only 2 lamps (one not working) and no ceiling lights, and incredibly squeaky bed; resulting in me sleeping on the floor.

Wellness - dilapidated, rusty radiators and windows, freezing cold air and water, sauna was only 60'c and the Jacuzzi has been broken since October (3 months) and inadequate lighting. not someone where you would want to relax and definitely not with children (i have had warmer beach holidays in the UK)

Food - not as the pictures show - food was the equivalent to a cheap lunch menu worth a maximum of 4 euros with very little choice. breakfast very limited.

Upgraded room on the second night was slightly better (at least it was not trying to kill us) was still unloved with moldy bathroom and damaged equipment.

wifi only available in the reception, inadequate lighting in the whole hotel, website pictures either very old or of the one renovated room.

once again, no matter how good the offer is don't stay here, just look at the pictures in case you think i am exaggerating.

Our stay started by changing rooms. There was a mix up over request. Needless to say we had a river view but no balcony and no child cot as requested. This 1st room was quite small with a 40cm TV. Not even superior standard. The 2nd room was also not my idea of an executive room. I might have assumed it to be a superior room . That was until we noticed that. ... The pedal bin is hand operation only , the carpet strip is coming away from the floor, carpet has cigarette burns, bad signal from 46cm TV, remote is backless, no soap holder in shower, no shower door/screen, basin sink has cracks and door to bathroom doesn’t lock. The patio chairs on the balcony might have been there when the hotel was constructed. The ‘Executive ‘ mini bar is loaded...... with only 2 spirits. Vodka or Whiskey and cola but no tonic. Breakfast was also very poor. Powdered orange juice mix or squash with the usual but reduced continental selection. Hot items were scramble eggs, eggy bread and a poor excuse for a hotdog. A nice selection of breads though. Another annoying fact about this hotel is that the swimming pool is only available Tuesday to Friday 14:00 – 21:00 and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 21:00 and not available during swimming lessons. This was the main reason for chosing this hotel. There is also an inconsistent €1.00 charge for use of the pool. Would I rebook? Not even at half price. This Hotel may be an accident waiting to happen. If you’re brave enough and want a river view, balconies only go up to the 8th floor. None on the 9th. The rooms though were quite clean but all appear to be the same size so probably not worth going for an executive room. There was a leak for 4 days in the foyer between the antique lifts and reception. No sign of an engineer/plumber but plenty buckets. Only too happy to be leaving soon.

If you would like to enjoy the atmosphere of 80-ties in communist Czechoslovakia, you are on the good place. Horrible cuisine, better is to take a hot dog at the street. Dirty and small pool - the only proffesional in the hotel was photographer who made it's pictures. On the other hand -the hotel is in the centre, some rooms have nice view to the river, and toilets are renovated.
