This is an absolutely 3 star hotel. I don't know who gave this hotel 4 stars. No phone socket next to the bed. The washbasin is very low. You have to bend down a lot to wash your face and hands. The type of carpet on the floor reminded me of the times of socialism.

After making a reservation for 5 nights, we only stayed here 2 due to changing plans with friends we were visiting. Staff were friendly, immediately correcting the missing baby cot we requested and not complaining or even asking about us leaving before our reservation was complete. We did everything in English, no problem. The hotel is fine, not at all fancy, but decent and clean, with a good, nothing special, breakfast buffet. We were disappointed to not have air conditioning in the room (35 degree days) and very disappointed about the exterior construction work that woke us up before 7am both days (with windows open because of the heat). The day we decided to leave, workers were putting up scaffolding on the front, above the main entrance. Despite our inconvenience, the construction should be a good thing, as the already-upgraded facade at the rear is much nicer than the older white tile front. Also disappointing was the wifi, which only works in the lobby and in part of the restaurant, but not in the rooms. The hotel is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the middle of Piestany (further to the spa island), and it is situated in green space overlooking a canal. We didn't manage to use the indoor pool, but it looked nice, and there were lots of families enjoying it and sunbathing outside. Overall, the hotel seemed a bit too expensive for what it was.

The good: close to downtown, close to the spa island (10 min. walk), well equipped gym, free wifi everywhere, perfect location for joggers (park nearby), cheap parking (2 euros/day), friendly staff, lots of health improving procedures to select from, well heated rooms (i had to open the balcony door often to let cool air in), comfy beds (not squeaking), clean and spacious bathroom, good selection of buffet style meals (breakfast and dinner), quiet location,

The bad: no aircon (manual ventilation e.g. open the window if you want fresh air), no strongbox in the room, chairs far from comfortable, dim lights not bright enough for reading since energy efficient bulbs are everywhere :-(

The receptionist old lady was horrible, we were sitting in the reception and the music in the background was playing on, I put on the video she shouted “put down the volume!!!” How about music?!? The next day the reception area was full of people and they were talking and laughing loudly, she didn’t talk or mention a single word?!? She was very discriminated.

I would give this hotel 3 stars instead of four. Nothing is special. Food, staff, rooms are average. Piestany is a beatiful city with a lot of nice places to visit, but this hotel doesnt belong to it. We tried wellness are next to the hotel and that was excellent.

It is true that there are worse hotels in Piešt'any. But those ones don't advertise themselves as having "wellness" weekends. This hotel, in an underwhelming concrete structure uglifying an otherwise pleasant riverside, is, as other reviewers have stated, quite close to spa island (10 min walk). It also 100% surfs on the reputation of the more glamorous hotels on spa island. There are - take note - no medicinal waters here: only a pool with skull-splittingly bright lights and the minuscule basement "wellness"/spa section.

It is also true that if I had merely been passing through en route to somewhere else this hotel is OK as a journey-breaker, provided you arrive late and leave early. The thing is, people don't generally come to Piešt'any to "pass through". They come here to relax/indulge in various spa treatments. Moreover, this hotel sells itself as being able to provide just that: wellness. And this is where it fails more utterly than any other "spa" hotel I have ever stayed at.

The staff - as previous reviewers have also noted - are friendly. The rooms are adequate, the food just adequate (although it hardly makes you feel special), the bar is dire and unsurprisingly usually deserted. None of these would warrant in themselves a 1-star trip advisor review. But on Saturday nights, starting at about 9 and going on until - I kid you not - 4am they play, in afore-mentioned dire bar, really loud Cuban/salsa music, with a sound system that ensures all the rooms on the two floors above shake with the sound of it. Maybe there are Saturday nights where they don't do this - but I wouldn't know about them.

As we were on a spa weekend we went to bed fairly early that night (maybe 11) and with knowing smiles tolerated the music shaking our room to pieces until about 2am. That, we thought, was a reasonable hour for them to stop. But when we went down and complained we were told the reception staff could not tell the people in the bar to be quiet, because they had hired the room for an unlimited amount of time!

So we were powerless and unable to sleep, on a spa weekend where relaxing is the one thing we should have been able to do! So we decided, at 4am, music still continuing, to leave: this is the only time, in 15 years of staying in such places, that I have ever actually left a hotel halfway through the night because the place was so bad.

Again - this is not a problem with the staff but with the management of this place, who clearly think it is OK to subject their guests to really loud music the whole night long. As long as the people making the noise are paying for the privilege, it seems OK!

I feel it is my duty as someone who loves Piešt'any to tell potential guests: DO NOT RUIN YOUR EXPERIENCE OF AN OTHERWISE NICE SPA TOWN BY STAYING HERE.

We left this hotel feeling emotionally drained, angry and tense: not exactly how you are supposed to feel after a spa weekend!

I came back from Piestany 3 days ago having stayed in the Park Hotel. Maybe, It was too much quit but it was the onle one "disadvantage":)
I was really surprised with personnel - attentive, delicate and very helpful. Unfortunatelly, they didn't speak English (German instead) but I understand Slovak a liitle bit and they - Russian and Ukranian.
The situation is great - near the park and SPA-island. You can lend a bicycle in the hotel (just for 1 euro per hour) and have a great trip through Piestany.
The restaurant, personnel and food were good indeed. I liked cafe of the hotel (where wi-fi was) especially.
Swimming-pool, fitness room were not very big but also OK. The wellness-centrum was good as well - not expensive and very convenient (on the -1 floor of the hotel).
Good and convenient rooms, the cleaning was every day.

I hesitate to give this hotel only 1 star, because the reception staff and masseur were really nice/good. But, I would not recommend this hotel, and think it is best if I go down through the list of items individually.

Wifi: excellent in lobby. Patchy in room.

Rooms: clean enough. Very, very dated and shabby. Beds are comfortable, but mattresses may be hard for some. Decor is back from when Kruschev was a lad. Walls are ridiculously thin. Neighbour snored all night, and I was made to wake up with them at 6:30am this morning. Not their fault really, as there is no air con so have to have balcony door open. Still - really frustrating. To be honest I was just glad that they did not start shagging!

Pool: nice enough. Chlorinated to the max to kill off any germs. How someone has not slipped on the smooth tiles and seriously hurt themselves is beyond me (maybe they have!?). Staff are very rude and uninterested in pool area - if you can't speak Slovak, they literally ignore you. No towels available at pool - so have to bring your bath towels!!!!!!!

Restaurant: did not eat dinner here thankfully - but breakfast was less than adequate. Perhaps it was the hordes of people I ended up dining with at 8am, but I avoided the white slop in the hot bins, the juice was as artificial as it got, coffee looked terrible, bread was these cheap floppy rolls, which the guests all seemed to have clenched in their hands whilst eating. There was not much else on hand at all. Really, really bad fare. Ended up managing to get a small bowl of muesli and yoghurt.

Spa: the service I got from the masseur was excellent. She was friendly and really good at what she did. The facilities however resemble a sanatorium from the communist era. Very weird. It is also located near the outside pool area, and in the middle of the massage someone decided to have a cigarette outside the window, which blew into the massage room. Very off-putting.

Patrons: seemed to be a children's summer camp I stumbled into. Rather than a relaxing stay, it was filled with the constant sounds of 100's of feral children screaming and running all over the place.

Location: 10 minutes walk from town, 15 from spa island.

I wish I had just splurged on the big hotel, but for one night it just didn't seem worth it. Please - don't stay here. The cheap stay is not worth having a day ruined... I feel bad for the hotel because it could make something of itself, but it just seems to want to cling tightly to that communist past as fast as it can. Maybe it should redesign itself as some sort of museum, fine for a visit, but do not spend the night!
