As this was a family trip with 2 children we chose this hotel in preference to the one we usually stay at because it had a pool. So there was great disappointment to find hotel guests could only use the pool after 5.30pm - not much use to an 18month old child. I would suggest the hotel should clearly state this on the website. The pool and 'wellness area' was in fact locked all day and used as a creche for local mother and toddler groups. On Saturday evening we saw the pool was not used at 4.30pm so asked if we could use it, we were told 'no' because there were 'rules'
The restaurant served a good range of food and the staff were always pleasant, helpful and attentive. The breakfasts were adequate but it would have been nice to have some fresh fruit.
The bedrooms were fine, they were clean and modern with adequate space, although our room had no drawer space whilst the room next door had an additional wardrobe. The housekeeping was very hit and miss, we had to ask to have our room cleaned on one occasion, the tissue dispenser in the bathroom was not replenished nor was the bedside light bulb replaced - even though I removed it from its holder.
There was much more emphasis on the restaurant, making the place seem more like a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel.
Points for improvement: I had to move rooms because there were several problems with the bath and shower but the worst thing was the noise from the road. Insist on a room on the river side. Also the hotel pool is not available to hotel guests in the mornings. This was actually stated on the booking but who would look for something like that?
The room had twin beds and wanted them to make it at least one double bed since I pay double and stay single! First they promised to do it 2nd day but later on they said they cannot do it! I have been travelling all over the world and it was the first time that I had been charged double room price although I made my reservation for single and stayed single! And as a hotel, they could not help with making the bed double by putting a mattress! Such a bed service and management! But very efficient in charging double though I stayed single! Receptionists were not helpful or friendly at all & and the management were ignorant. They absolutely had no idea of customer happiness and/or giving customer friendly service! And when this attitude meets with misunderstood modern marketing applications, the result becomes such a very bad experience.
sunk in a frame if over 6 ft you cant lie straight.thin curtains room lit up 4.30 am in summer..i was above reception i could here them talkin and road outside is slabs of concrete with horrendous noise from uneven service
ive been in nitra 5 months in various rooms this was worst by far.
